Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of spacetime caused by large cosmic events such as black holes colliding. Their detection was possible thanks to LIGO, a large-scale physics experiment and observatory designed to detect cosmic gravitational waves and to develop gravitational-wave observations as an astronomical tool.
Today, we will take a closer look not only at how we came to this discovery in the first place but also at who the main players in the story were, what problems they faced, why they suffered from imposter syndrome, and what personal values have to do with it all.
Tune in!

    I know what the unknown is like. Science has never discovered why I have excruciating pain and suffering from pressure in my head for 46 years. Science is difficult to determine.

    Finally, you are approaching not only the curvature of space-time dimensions (for material objects) and the "waves of dimensions" of bare space-time, but also the real and not impossible "PACKING" of the dimensions of the two basic quantities "Length" and "Time" (and their 3+3 dimensions). For 20 years here on the Internet, I have been trying to show the usefulness of bending dimensions into multi-curvature (boiling vacuum, plasma, these are "crumpled" dimensions), i.e. into packages that then "take on" the properties of elementary particles. (mass, spin, charge, color, etc.). Simply put: elementary particles of matter (all of them) are realized by multi-curving, packing dimensions. No one cares, no one reads it, no one shakes their head at it, no one says anything negative about it. Nobody gets it (?) It's terribly incomprehensible to me that until today nobody was interested in the idea that matter is created in the universe by "packing, wrapping, packing, conglomerating" the dimensions of two basic space-time quantities. In other words, the idea that even time has 3 dimensions. Then it is even more meaningful that the three time dimensions manifest themselves, revive their >activity< precisely (only) in the microworld in interactions. In the macroworld there is "only" the arrow of time, the flow-flow of time only "forward" and therefore the unidirectionality of time, time " like a scalar". But it is not so in the microworld, there is a flow, the flow of time is "omnidirectional" and thus the justified opinion that the 3 dimensions of time are physical, and the extra dimensions are a "mathematical construct". What are the extra dimensions of string theory, I don't know, but they don't either) to the production of matter. www.hypothesis-of-universe.com/index.php?nav=e ; www.hypothesis-of-universe.com/index.php?nav=ea ;

    Well they aren't truly gravitational waves anyway, they are the outflow of gravity which is slightly different to gravity. Gravity scales down to leave a body of mass undetected, but huge amounts of it can be detected. So not actually to do with Einstein, but more to do with the old theory of gravitons with an inflow, and an outflow. Then you combine that with my theory that gravity scales down to escape a body of mass undetected. Then you have the complete picture.

    Science is just another activity of man like carpenting...(Not to belittle, but to release the abnormal pressure of fame etc). Rightly said that recog. and fame are transient. The biggest prize I think is a life well lived. A life of content and of character.

    Science is not wisdom! Exactly. Wisdom, for one interested in the stars, earth, etc, is to know that the Universe was created in 6 days about six thousand years ago. Wisdom is to know that in six days the earth and the universe and man and woman were created, and THEN, at the end of the sixth day, God stopped his creative work. THAT IS WHEN he set and established the laws of science. In the six days, he was using his supernatural power. Or put in understandable terms for a scientist, he was using his supra-scientific powers. Or meta-scientific powers, if you prefer. And it is ONLY that far back that a scientist CAN possibly go, and no further back, to use science to understand HOW the universe and its contents work. NOT before the six days, for IN THOSE six days, there were no laws YET in place BY WHICH a scientist CAN study, scientifically. To attempt to go into the six days scientifically will be UTTER futility!! It is about the similar level of insanity like a child telling its parents it evolved!! A child is a child, so we let it pass. But for an adult to say it, is what the beginning of insanity is. This is wisdom for a scientist. AND, it requires humility. No humility, and you are in for a massive massive shock of your life. And if not while you live, then certainly after death. Better before. There is an old saying in my community: I know my skull is made of bone, and is very hard. But I dont bang my head against a stone wall in an attempt to break it because my skull is hard. I have common sense to know which will get severely damaged earlier. Best to apply this to the above paragraphs. Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, *he formed it to be inhabited*: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

    _wisdom for one interested in the stars…is to know the universe was created in 6 days about 6000 years ago_ The WISDOM is to know that what you said is only a religious belief and not a fact of reality. The rest you said about science is you cherry picking science

    @@therick363 >The WISDOM is to know that what you said is only a religious belief and not a fact of reality. How do you KNOW it is a FACT of REALITY? You were NOT there when it started!! Therefore, you have absolutely NO other choice but to believe SOME WAY that it got here - i.e. you TOO must have faith, albeit not of the religious kind. That YOU think the universe "evolved" is based on faith too!! The coming of the universe into being, and other objects in it are a ONE TIME EVENT. They simply CANNOT be replicated, no matter HOW MUCH you may want to ignore this fact. And, if you CANNOT repeat an event, you are plaining and simply OUTSIDE THE BOUNDS of science. For if a given assertion (in this case, that it "evolved") cannot be replicated, you CANNOT assert the outcome. For science TO BE science, event must be repeatable, under given and stated condition, then the results verifiable, by independent verifiers, to have the SAME result, in every facet. This CANNOT be done with "evolution", ergo, evolution is a belief, it is a faith proposition. And it is EXTREMELY essential to know which evolution. Micro- evolution can be verified. We see it in inter-species variations all the time. All dogs are micro-evolution variations from the original wolf genus. And so on. But the higher 5 forms of evolution are not evolution AT ALL. It is simply a belief. This is why, ever since my mind was opened to the requirements for science to be called science, I have called Evolution a fairy tale for grown-ups. If you want to know the 5 higher levels of supposed evolution, all you need to do is ask me.

    @@vincentpinto1127 I see you lack the ability and integrity to have this console adults. I see you are like most believers-you lie, misrepresent and cherry pick things that don’t fit into your religion. Thats sad and very disrespectful of you. Here’s a question I’m sure you won’t answer. Why do you lie? Evolution is a scientific theory. NOT a faith proposition. For you to say such a thing is either ignorance or lying. When you call evolution a faulty tale you loss all credibility to then tell someone to ask you about evolution and science. Try again but this time like an adult.
