Levi, great video! You have to start taking a rubber band style fishing spear and a small wok to deal with those prawns! They're a tasty problem to have.

Sounds like a valve in the regulator might have gotten a pebble in it. In that situation you can use a snorkel with a hose adapted to it to run up to the floaty if the line is short enough. You might have to use yourself to anchor the floaty directly above you so you don't have to inhale so hard to get air.

Water leaking or flowing into your mouthpiece of a regulater can usually be fixed (water leakage stopped) in the field is by taking the mouth piece off of the regulater to expose the silicone or rubber flapper valve on the regulater. Usually this round or oval valve flapper sits flat when working properly but will have debris of a fold in the very flexible flapper valve when leaking water into air flow. Remove debris or pull flexible folded flapper valve back into position such that it again sits flat, reinstall mouthpiece (usually pops on and off with some effort). Test it and it will usually be working properly. Good luck. Love the videos of you sniping gold.

Great vid as usual. It’s a plugging chisel btw👍. I fished a river up that way years ago that I found an old gold stamper in the hills. After watching your videos I’ve always wanted to go back to that place and have a snipe. Only problem it’s a 6 hr canoe trip then a 2 hour hike upstream to the stamper. Given its remoteness I doubt it’s ever been sniped.

The tool you found looks like one I've used for scraping out grout between old tiles. Our biggest Northern River is the Clarence and it has plenty of gold within its catchment. In fact the Drake goldfield, one of the largest in NSW, lies within the Clarence catchment. The Northern River where I live is the Brunswick. It's much smaller than the Clarence but it does have its own set of fishies. One interesting fish we have is called the bullrout. This critter has poisonous spines and you do not want to tread on one!.
