He coughs and a bloody dribble runs down his chin. His tongue flicks over his puffy lips. I search his eyes for the slightest sign of anything, fear, remorse, anger. But there's only the same look of amusement that ended our last conversation. It's as if he's speaking the words again. _"Oh, my dear Miss Everdeen. I thought we had agreed not to lie to each other."_ He's right. We did. The point of my arrow shifts upward. I release the string. And President Coin collapses over the side of the balcony and plunges to the ground. Dead. In the stunned reaction that follows, I'm aware of one sound. Snow's laughter. An awful gurgling cackle accompanied by an eruption of foamy blood when the coughing begins. I see him bend forward, spewing out his life, until the guards block him from my sight." TL;DR: It doesn't, although it should be pretty obvious that it was due to Katniss holding her promise to Snow of being truthful until the last consequences. Coin was going to be another dictator, arguably worse than Snow and Katniss was fully aware of that.

To others, she was typically quiet, passionate in her action, but often insightfully disturbed in her thoughts. She really felt like a girl that was just going through the motions. A malnourished hunter from a village of coal miners, propped up to be some kind of revolutionary symbol. Poor girl.

And then in the movies she's just quiet, well adjusted, and healthy looking. Like I would imagine a more faithful adaptation would have her narrating the whole movie, with everything outside of her attention being out of focus. Probably could of gone with an actress that had a more rugged look as well. Someone with RBF would of been great.

He was satisfied that his favourite girl, the Katniss, The Mockingjay, his favorite player, the first to cause revolution to the Capitol... actually was up to his standards and proved that Katniss was not a pawn. A free spirit that will not be owned neither by him or another figure like Coin. Knowing his last sight was the very person who reminds him of his past, his significant history with District 12, "his" Lucy who went for "Katniss"(a herb) , his karma and proof of his whole existence that he had lived the life he chose and face the consequences of it.

What i respect most in Katniss is how real she is. She doesn't think about how others see her. All she does is what she feels is right. No one else could have actually shot that arrow like that. History doesn't work that way. Others would have held the show up, killed Snow and then poisoned Coin in an intrigue. She doesn't. She feels that Coin is the criminal here. Therefore she shoots her. She doesn't adhere to social rules, doesn't care about what is expected of her. To me, that kind of spirit, that kind of independent thinking is a real hero. She could never be corrupted.

I only disagree because in the series SO MUCH of her story *was* actually political intrigue. She agonized. She spent months to years performing as a celebrity for winning a killing competition and had to CONVINCINGLY pretend to be in love because she feared for her loved ones. She went through another killing competition, and it was only after she experienced the horrors of war, lost her dearest ones, and then lost Prim, that she could have seen this exact outcome through. Katniss never would have agreed to Coin's suggestion to have another Hunger Games with Prim around. Coin took everything from her and had already shown signs of fascism (two sides of the same coin). Katniss was absolutely doing what she thought was right in this moment, you're right about that. But that realness did only come after plenty of situations where she didn't act against tyranny and lived to regret it. That's what's so cool about her development!

Fortunately fighting and surviving was what she did best. Snow let her live in the first games as he underestimated her power as a weapon for the rebellion and Coin used her to win. However he (literally) had the last laugh when Coin thought Katniss was broken but Snow realised she was still a weapon that could be turned against a new much worse tyrant.

Plutarch, is the unsung hero of this movie. He recognized everything and how to put it in place. We all identify with Katniss, the reluctant hero, but he look on his face when Katniss released that arrow, priceless. He knew he'd picked the right one at the right time. Of course he pardoned her, it was probably better than he'd ever dreamed of.

This scene is actually beautiful to me, the death of Coin and the most important, the death of Snow, being killed by the people, people making justice of all the damage he made to all of them, and that is what we need nowadays with our governments, we need our justice

This shows the importance of Trust and Honesty. What saved Snow was him always being truthful to Katniss. If he had lied to her even just once, she wouldn't have believed him. It's because of her trust in him, built by his honesty, that she chose to shoot Coin. They conversed through their eyes and that's how Snow was able to convince Katniss to stop Coin as she is just another 'Snow'

2:00 interesting that both Coin and Heavensbee are a shade darker than Snow. The latter, of course, was just playing the latest game. Keeping up appearances (literally, in his fashion's case) with the powers that be, until he need turn on them. It's rare to find such a manipulative character as one of the heroes. He'll always be in the shadows of the throne, but he'll always have Panem's best interests at heart.

Camila Hernandez I know I’m very late, but she also killed her because she knew that either way, snow was gonna die. She also knew that Coin wanted to have the hungers game but with kids form the capital instead. She knew that if she just killed snow, coin would be in power. If she killed coin, snow would die either way. That very smart thinking on her part!

"Mockingjay, may your aim be as true as your heart is pure" She deserved to suffer, but her fate was most fitting. There she stood, on the precipice of absolute power, ready, willing, and about-to-be-able to continue the depravities of Snow and the Hunger Games, but without any moral compunctions whatsoever. She patiently conspired and schemed, allowed for the other Districts to suffer for 75 years until at last came along Katniss to spark the fires of rebellion. Her final words made me sick, but her moment of triumph literally shot down and the sight of her falling both literally and figuratively was poetic justice and delicious irony mixed so perfectly together. I only wish we could have known her final thoughts before she entered the void...

You know what I find funny about this? Not just the fact that she was shot down in her moment of victory, but the fact that in doing so Katniss effectively ended the games. As Snow pointed out, She was going to continue doing the exact same things he was doing and in the end despite the desire to avoid the districts fighting each other for survival, they ended up doing the exact same thing in her war. It could be said that the battle itself was a continuation of the Hunger Games. Snow was a dead man no matter what happened now, if Katniss doesn't kill him the crowd does, if the crowd doesn't kill him, he dies of his own accord. By now he is a nonissue. Coin was going to take his place and do more of the same, but Katniss ensured that the games ended with her death. I wonder how much of his laughing was because he realized that the girl who started everything, the one he saw as a pawn for either him or his enemies ultimately ended up being the one to declare checkmate. I imagine her final thoughts were either wondering how things could have gone wrong or cursing the Mockingjay for ruining everything. Just my opinions.

Think it was because the last two movies weren’t quite as strong as the first two. It goes from a story of life or death games in a post apocalyptic world to one of political intrigue. It works for the overarching narrative, but I personally thought the first two movies were more engaging. Didn’t help that the third book was split in two, meaning the first part was mostly just set up.
