The Human Horizons Hiphi X Is Like A Sci-fi Movie Prop You Can Actually Drive

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

When we first saw the HiPhi X at the Beijing Auto Show last year, we had strong doubts about how it would work in the real world. Well, turns out we were right in some ways, but very wrong in others.

@@DanielHoo10 Actually he was VP to SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation), the car building group that owns MG, Roewe etc., not to the other SAIC (Shanghai Administration...) which is a government body. It's true though, that he used to work as the head of local governments. Job switching between government office and state-owned enterprises like SAIC are not uncommon for people his level, since both are still government jobs that subject to internal transfers. That's until he quit public service and entered private sector in 2015.

The reason why traditional carmakers being conservative not because they can't but they want to cope with the logistics for global mass production and not to mention all the features need to be carefully observed so it can pass every regional regulations. Just look at their concept cars, they're capable inventing many weird, ultra advanced features but it doesn't make sense for mass production, like that complicated dual hinged rear door system in this car, there's too many error fatality can happen if it appears on popular car model like say a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. EV start-up like this Hi-Phi brand, Nio or even Tesla can do so many over the top stuffs because their cars, despite increasing sales still niche in number compared to traditional carmakers unit sales. My 2 cents ...

THIS is the first truly desirable Chinese car I've seen , I can live without gullwing doors ..but this thing is original and gorgeous . I somehow suspect a rather large input from Kia .At first glance anywhere else I would have said it was a Citroen concept car.

As far as we're aware, Kia had nothing to do with the development of this car. As we explained in the video, the badge on the back is only a result of the car being manufactured in a facility that produces models from the Dongfeng Yueda Kia joint venture company. It's a common practice for smaller manufacturers to piggyback on the manufacturing capacity of larger companies.

this is a terrific ride I must say. this video makes me admire it even more, I didn't know it was this beastly if not for this video. in my opinion, it can come close to the best western cars. i have a concern with the ergonomics of the front passenger seat, i feel the passenger will have to bend the neck substantially to watch a video on that gorgeous screen. and i feel the ride's ground clearance is rather too low. otherwise these less significant observations, i love and this car. well done HiPhi, well done china.

Pros on HiphiX like the flush c pillar, entry is easy, lots of creature comforts. Cons: lots of electric convenience = possible breakdown, windscreen reflections, rear seat is claustrophobic, rear door may be a good idea ie Tesla’s falcon door. The design is intriguing to say the least.

This car has everything. And I mean everything. I don't think there's a single car that has more than this car has. A few days ago, my friend asked me when I think electric technologies will mature and be accepted by me. This. Is it. This is the car that convinces me. My Subaru 3.6R does 550km per tank with only 180kw and 350nm so that's a perfectly acceptable range. I love it. I want one.

@@cf7792 I don't think security is of much importance anymore. Everyone has a smartphone. Everyone has social media. Everyone knows our info is sent to the CIA and any other government or private organisation who is willing to pay. But ultimately, we're not really important enough for anything to come out of this info. At most just an add from amazon telling you to buy something. Also, I feel like Chinese or Russian hackers are just a fear tool made by American media

@@cf7792 That's probably true to the old Chinese cars. But this is a changing world, people changing, factory improving. Chinese engineers are clever, but lack of experience, and they catch up in a insane speed. Today's booming market of Chinese brand car in China, has become a fact and shows how chinese consumer gradually accept and trust these brands, like Geely, BYD, neo, etc. The trend starts inside China, but won't end there. just like how people all over the world in 80s start to change their mind to Japanese products.

Class: Sport SUV VIP Very nice side, top and rear design, but with a debatable front (mainly because of the lights at the front and below in fact. They will be difficult to use in everyday life except for games or Panic Room). Command has to be simplified. Opening the doors: I liked it, you just need to know if it has a sensor like the back door (with suicide opening) to stop when opening if you encounter any obstacles or if open automatcly whem pressed (I've seen that it closes by itself) The IDEA is interesting in general, including the commands built into the port - by touch. But I changed the middle door opening, it needs to change to sliding opening, keeping the roof opening in good weather or at the user's option (as it has). Rearview mirrors would apply the Lexus-Comeras system instead of the traditional mirror. Immaculate interior including door locks All ergonomic seats only need to become carbon mesh (all seat backs, including the 3rd row (very tight space due to the foam generated by the products both on the side and on the roof (which could be wider)) and include ambient light in the back. I also think I wouldn't need as much space in the middle if the seats in the back were more ergonomic for leg positioning. I still couldn't figure it out with so much technology, it wouldn't be enough to have the remote in my pocket and put my foot to open the suitcase. Do you have to forcibly click on the command ?? The luggage space leaves a lot to be desired. If with the 3rd row mounted, there is only that space for me, it's not enough. The bagem place would have to be deeper. Space for 6 means space for a minimum of 6 suitcases.
