As a dude, the things that stand out to me: A conservative yet playful attire - something that lets the imagination work. Yoga pants...for obvious reasons Head tilting down a little, and looking up to meet your eyes. The way a ponytail bounces when a girl is running. Really turns my head. Wearing wedges with a skirt that is just a quarter inch too short. And on the less physical side: Sharing in decision making - making a real suggestion for dinner or a date. Being grounded - not being into astrology, crystals, etc. Someone who solves their own problems (corollary, someone who doesn't complain about things in their power to resolve) Can carry a conversation. Seriously, some women just... can't.

Agreed on most of these. I'm a guy, with the usual instincts hardwired, and yoga pants do draw my eye, but I still don't think they're any more appropriate to wear in public than just nylons.

Food for thought: older people have lived a long life and have weathered many storms. While I don’t doubt the unique sorrows associated with growing old and losing your spouse - I also believe they have a strong sense of finality and peace. They are not looking forward like we are with all of our anxieties and plans. They are generally looking back, and that entails a certain kind of placidness. No doubt they appreciate company, but I also think they are along the most content people in the world.

First, I think the fact that "Nominative Determinism" is a big, compound word that sounds fancy makes it something that gives someone the feeling that talking about it will feel similarly fancy. But it doesn't. A lot of girls get misled by the aesthetic of a word rather than the function or logic of it. It's a dumb word that describes a mostly non-existent phenomena.

As someone who was raised on John Hughes movies, I distinctly remember a time when well-educated intellectuals were “nerds” and definitely considered unattractive. But in recent years it seems to be noticed and appreciated by women. I assume “nominative determinism” is shorthand for being a nerd and having general knowledge about some special thing she’s interested in.

One of the hottest things for a woman to do is just be really sweet and attentive. When a girl looks deep into my eyes while we’re talking, and I can tell she’s really listening, the rest of the world just fades away a little bit, and life feels softer for a moment. That can also be a more familial affection thing, if she is off-limits in one way or another (i.e., brotherly/sisterly love, φιλεω). Additionally, a good smile can make my day. Months ago at the gym, this girl handed me a plate, looked me dead in the face, and flashed a big, cheerful smile, and I still remember it.

My big turn-ons when it comes to women? How about things like... Self-awareness / honest self-assessment, especially combined with open and honest communication. For example: "I don't want to admit it, but I need some help." "I don't need help, but I still want you to help me " "I don't need you to do anything; just listen." (Bonus points if she comments on how much she appreciates that I want to do something, even though doing so isn't necessary.) "I want you to say (or do) something." (Bonus points if she can articulate what she wants me to say / do.)

  • @wowomah6194
    @wowomah61948 ай бұрын

I think it's important to keep in mind that there are probably 200 things that a woman may say turns her on, attracts her to any given male, etc. but that at the end of the day those things are NOT what will make her want a relationship with you. Perfect example for me is that I had just about EVERYTHING possible in common with this one girl I matched with on Hinge a few months ago. Spiritually we were the same which is rare for me, politically we were almost identical (we actually both did a stupid test thingy), music preference was very similar, we were both of similar attractiveness physically, and we both talked each other's ears off before we finally met for the date. But the reality is, all of this can be in common but there still be NO chemistry. She and I got along OK, but there were no sparks, we might have made pretty good friends. And that's the main point I wanna make to other men who might be worried that they now suddenly have to watch everything they do to make sure they're attracting their dream girl with each small thing they wear, say, do etc. The thing about love and romance and all that stuff is that you can't MAKE it happen, you can only be open to when it does happen and put yourself out there to be seen by women who you like. You can only make opportunities, you cannot make outcomes. So don't sweat the small stuff, don't worry about, for instance, if maybe the girl of your dreams might like dude's who wear graphic tees, if the woman of your dreams won't date you because you aren't her cookie-cutter idea of a stud in her wet dreams, then she isn't ready for a relationship! Just be authentic to yourself while also improving yourself and who you want to be.

When their hip switches when they walk. 4. When they flip their hair to one side. 5. When they put their hair behind their ear. 6. When they stroke their hair all the way down and out. 7. When they stick their hip out to one side and put their hand on their hips. 8. When they wear cropped shirts, belly doesn't even have to show. 9. When she wears something that reveals her shoulders. The fact she mentioned at the beginning that she was ovulating should have been a hint about weird preferences. I know some women who get very..umm..slick down there when a gentle warm breeze goes by, yet on the other end of the cycle dry up like the Sahara Desert. At any rate, as for nominative determinism, I think it applies more easily to people of English descent, as a lot of them grow up with last names that represented their occupation historically (e.g., Smith, Carpenter, Baker, Cook, Merchant, Brewer, Knight, etc.). I wonder how they would explain somebody naming their child Joe or Jane Social Media Influencer.

Women's attraction trigger do change throughout the course of their cycle, so what she finding attractive now she may very well find fair to outright repulsive in two weeks. Courtney, it's the first time I'm hearing of nominative determinism. My name is Anil. It's a very common name in my country India. "Anil" in the Tamil language means "squirrel". I have this habit of gathering up fragments of what I read or hear so that I could use it in my talks or writings. I jot them down in diaries. My heart/mind is a basket of gathered fragments. Why am I telling you all this? Because the squirrel also gathers fragments of food for future use, for winter or times of scarcity. I'm by name and nature a squirrel! I've been doing this for decades now. Nothing i find striking is lost; it's all saved. But i haven't been doing it to live up to my name or anything. I had this habit long before I knew it's meaning. Is this nominative determinism?

I posted in another video similar: For me it’s rocking a ponytail. No buns. Makeup- I love the natural look so less is more here. Hair- the style has to fit. Thicker the better, I love curls and waves. But it has to suit their personality and style. Hand gestures- certain women have a specific hand gesture technique that I am drawn to during conversations or just in general. Her voice has to be easy on the ears. Eyes- I focus on the eyes. A girl in a sundress is deadly attractive. And an instant WOW is coming out of the shower hot too, the wet hair does it for me.

The examples I've seen that support nominative determinism use the surname. The name, Michael Baker, would signify they have a greater gravitation towards a career in baked goods. This couldn’t have been the case in history since the surname was used to identify the individual’s occupation. Webber means “a man who weaves,” Brewer signifies “a man who brews,” and Baker denotes “a man who bakes”. In the current timeline of an individual’s life, they’re given a surname first and then they get a career. But in history, the individual’s occupation came first and the surname last in order to identify their occupation.

I really like women with deep voice. Not manly voice, but deep women voice. What is funny I found out later that there is proven theory that when women is in ovulating stadium of their period their voices are on deeper frequencies than normal and men find them subconsciously more attractive. :) So maybe I am not the only one. :)

that TikTok girl is HILARIOUS :D I had to look up nominitive determinism, I'd never heard that phrase before, but I've thought about that concept! I think the obvious ones here are the surnames "Smith" and "Wood"... coming from medieval times when someone's surname was often what they did for work. Smith = blacksmith, wood = wood chopper/lumberjack. Thanks for the vid Courtney, some interesting stuff to think about there. As a side note, I wear a lot of tshirts that would probably fall into the "vintage" category, but that hipster look is pretty popular over here (Melbourne Australia) so I blend right in :)

I have never heard of "nominative determinism", outright it sounds like astrology. When you mentioned based on your last name it does make sense as people used to make their earnings from trades/services. These same trades and services were then passed down to the next generation. I.E. if you were a brewer your father was likely a brewer and your sons were likely to be brewers and you all held the same last name, commonly associated with that brew.

Now that you explain the nominative determinism thing, I think there is something to that. And this is just looking at my own life. But there are definitely odd similarities between myself and my namesakes. As a Catholic I attribute that to some Divine Inspiration when the names were chosen, I don't think the names dictate the characteristics, but there are some odd cowinky dinks. Edit: Since you asked for people to share. My middle name is Joseph, like St. Joseph the Carpenter. I am not a carpenter, I work as an engineer. However, I have always been skilled with my hands and since a young age have engaged in wood working as a hobby.

It would be a long list for me if I were to name all the things that I find attractive that women do so I feel like I should keep it brief and group them in. When they showcase their physical talents or flexibility by doing a handspring, cartwheel, etc or other similar abilities. When they do their hair or fix up their makeup or clothing. When they act shy, embarrassed or a little vulnerable. When they stand up for themselves, the people they care about or their convictions (this depends of course) The way they carry their items around. I used to find it so cute the way some of the girls carried their books The way they walk or run or do exercises. The way they smile, laugh or even take life less seriously. When they make something like a meal or do a simple task. When they showcase their confidence or courage in a difficult situation. When they show their compassion, kindness and empathy. There’s so many things that we find attractive that it wouldn’t possible for me to list them all.

when a man can take care of an old person it shows that he can take care of you when you are old. there is also the element of "raising kids is soooooo hard!!!!" its a LOT easier when you have mom, dad, dad's mom, dad's dad, mom's dad, and mom's mom to take care of some of the work and give you rest days. hanging around with your parents REQUIRES that you be on good terms with them in the first place so if you hang out with them then you can rely on them for kid help.

Well back in the day names were not given the day the child was born, they were given once a personality was established/observed, because names were words that had meaning, not made up random assortment of letters like they are today. Also, your last name would indicate your line of work because if you were born to a candlemaker, you were expected to be a candle maker. Now of course everybody can choose what they want to do, ans everything about your personality as an adult comes from your childhood, any kind of version of love you were exposed to, the choices you made, and your living environment you grew up in. People aren't born a certain way, they develop into a certain person. Intelligence isn't genetic, obesity isn't genetic, and neither are preferences

As a guy, things that women do that are attractive to me: 1. Wearing a sweatshirt and jeans. I saw a woman today, wearing a casual outfit. Normally she’s super put together. She’s always beautiful, but something about her wearing a simple non hooded sweatshirt charmed me senseless, even though I didn’t expect it. 2. Curiosity. A woman who is curious in general is so hot I lack the words to describe it. A different coworker wondered about something that was tangentially related to what we were talking about, and she just had to know the details of whatever sparked her attention. I remember thinking, “wow, her excitement at searching for some history and answers to her questions is waaaaay hotter than I imagined! 3. Reminding us we’re important and respected. Just a simple, “I really appreciate you,” can make my day a happy one! 4. Asking for our help processing and strategizing a professional or personal matter. A friend has come to me, asking my opinion on what she should do to with her career. I remember being so sooo honored that she would ask my opinion. When I explained my own thought process and how I arrived at my perspective, she listened attentively, asking questions and taking my advice. It was so meaningful to me, I’m smiling just thinking about it! It showed me how much she valued and trusted me as a friend to give her a thoughtful consideration regarding what I thought she should do. 5. This is more of a fashion style, but knee boots and white, gray, or red thigh socks over black leggings drives me wild, I don’t know why I love it, but trust me, I do! 6. A willingness to try new activities! An adventurous spirit is so amazingly attractive to me! A girl you can come home to and say, “let’s take a trip to the mountains/ ocean/ park/ etc” is super endearing to me, and suggests a life full of adventure, exploration and learning! 7. On a physical level, I love a woman who has strong calves and shapely legs. Something about a former high school or collegiate soccer player, with legs that are fit and athletic… just wow.

Howdy. I am a 67 geezer. Anna Jorgensen gave some hints. Walk slowly with long strides like Clint Eastwood and Henry Fonda. Never flip and flap one's hands around. Command things with balanced moves. One move and one result. Push the shopping cart back into the cart queue with one hand and bull's eye accuracy. And Jordan Petersen advices to take on responsibilities to give one's life meaning. At the local buffet restaurant I have taken on to push in chairs left pulled out and blocking isles. Some bourgeoise don't return their dish trays but leave them on the table, though buffet restaurant. I carry the trays to the return shelves. Not a big effort to make the restaurant inviting and welcoming. The look in peoples' eyes ! Usually I observe 3 or 4 ladies place themselves in an ambushing position to try to hi-jack my attention when I leave. When finished I stand up and 2 ladies rush beside me. Then I grab my tray and stand still. 2 more ladies rush in front of me. I take 2 steps and stop. Another 2 rush. When all ambushers have played their cards I can finally carry my tray to the shelf and leave. In High Regards.
