The Hobbit BTS Sir Christopher Lee returns (RIP A LEGEND)

Фильм және анимация

this is a moment from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey appendices. it’s my favourite moment from them and out of respect for him and in light of his death, i reckon everyone should see him in his final glory.
oh yeah and please be respectful in the comments. i’ve seen some that aren’t really nice.

100% completion. He was a soldier, a secret agent, he saw the last guillotine execution in France, he was a thespian, an actor and formed a heavy metal band at the age of 86. He was even a volunteer in the Winter War, helping Finland defend against the Soviet Union in 1939.

I am furious that yet again. Someone with his history wasn't multi-honored like he should of been.. The UK/GB never does the right thing for our best. You can't get a copy of his auto biog unless it's 2nd hand.. Only 1 print was issued and it should never be like that by one who had a history like Sir Christopher Lee did. Amazing is an understatement.

Warlord is quite appropriate. And folks standing around swapping stories is exactly how we do often in the military when we meet other folks we don't know. "Where have you been?" "When'd you get in?" "Was so-and-so there when you got there?" I did a movie once, and the Assistant Directors had to keep coming to where all of us military folks (being extras in the background) were at to tell us to stop talking: all we did was swap sea-stories!

I think for most people it comes to complacency as they get older. Our great elders like Sir Christopher Lee, Sir Ian McKellen, William Chatner, and Clint Eastwood all still have/had very active roles in their life well into their golden years. They are/were always after the next project or task. On the opposite end of the spectrum when most people who retire they’ll start to play a more passive role in their very own life which leads to degradation of the brain. Use it or lose it.

Sir Christopher Lee talking is a masterpiece in itself. He was born to play Saruman, even though he dreamed of playing Gandalf; but I think him being playing Saruman was enough for him to last for a life time until he crossed over to the undying lands. Board away by white ships, seeing the rain curtain of this world roll back, and all turned to silver glass. Then sees white shores and a far green country under a swift sunrise

I was employed as one of the Elves, in the Hobbit back in 2011 when travelling with a friend in a camper through New Zealand. It was a fantastic, fantastic experience and I will never forget it. For just a few scenes in the trilogy, I personally had to go on set for over 6 months, so you get an idea of just how much work goes into it all! I remember, particularly, meeting the gentleman in the glasses (who starts talking at 1:03) when in the canteen one day. We only spoke a few sentences, but he had an amazing calmness around him and was so humble considering his role as principal cameraman in both LOTR and The Hobbit. He sadly passed away a couple of years later, I believe

End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it. White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.

Such a powerhouse performer and we will never again see or hear anything new from him because he’s gone now. To have met him in person would have been the thrill of a lifetime. Pain is temporary but film is forever. My youngest son has now really invested in watching them with me for the first time.

Sir Christopher Lee is truly and amazing actor! He looks so fragile in that scene. You could tell he didn’t have long left. I have go admire the fact that money doesn’t even matter to this guy at this moment in time. He just came to do what he loves “acting” what a legacy he left behind! Rip Sir Christopher Lee❤️

Alongside Peter Cushing, Sir Christopher is one of my most beloved actors. A classic gentleman, a silver screen legend, and a master of his craft. I would have loved to have been able to spend an evening with him, talking over dinner, and just enjoying the stories he’d tell. RIP Sir Christopher.

Lee, Cushing, and Price were such masters of playing dark, serious characters, but they all loved jokes and comedy and laughing so much as well. It's often not well remembered how funny they all were.

It breaks my heart when I hear stories where they just can’t make the trip to wherever the destination is. It’s just another reminder of our mortality and the hourglass has been set. It happened to my father. He wanted to go on a vacation one last time, but his energy was gone.
