Dude love the new channel. When I heard about this series in the early 90s, I went to all the comic shops I could find and bought all secret wars 1 and 2 episodes.

Here in the U.K. the 70’ Spider-Man tv show was made into movie. The dragons challenge was repeated so many times I’ve lost count. Battlestar Galactica was also shown as movie. Thx once more for another fantastic video 🙌❤️

Funny and informative video about Mattel's Marvel figures, which had moderate success. Very interesting about the odd choices they went with for the 2nd and 3rd line, and the concept 4th line of figures. I agree about the figures you chose would've been welcome. Thanks!

I wasn't into the Secret Wars toy line (why would Spider-Man carry a shield?) but read the comics which was a nice crossover story. I mainly read to see how Spider-Man got the black suit. My mom would buy me those comics at a local grocery store so I was following the storyline when the black suit was actually an alien parasite. Years later I got back into comics in my late teens when they brought back the "suit" as Venom... Oh and a couple years ago Marvel brought back the Secret Wars story but this time Battleworld was made up of parts of the Marvel Mulitverse created by Dr, Doom.

Honestly dazzler was not a horrible choice. She had a decent fan base in the early 1980s with both guys and girls (x men's Rogue was another very popular super girl) and the comic was fairly popular. Her 1st issue in late 1980 was the first comic sold only at comic stores, so her comic was known, love her or hate her, especially in the marvel group. She was also in the 1983 graphic novel special called "Dazzler the movie" along with some very 80s inspired covers and several painted covers. Her comic was dying though by 1984 sadly the toy would have maybe boosted her sales.

I had no idea SECRET WARS was conceived to sell toys but I thought it was the greatest comic ever back in the day. You could still get comics on those spinning racks at gas stations and convenience stores. I checked those racks daily until I figured out the delivery schedules. Did you know there was a sequel? SECRET WARS II was not as good. It was kind of a fish-out-of-water tale where the god-like Beyonder comes to earth because he wants to find out what it's like to live as a human. There were humorous moments here, like when he becomes obsessed with a food processor and is constantly grinding carrots.

That commercial is intentionally misleading. Captain America is the only one with the shield and it's facing away from the camera to give the impression that it's _his_ shield and not the generic shield that all the figures came with.
