@@AlMuqaddimahYT so here is how it will go the game will start in 852 AD when basim age 17 years when he was a thief we will play maybe the first squence of the game around that time 852 AD later they will skip to basim training which he did train a lot 852AD to 855AD basim becomes an officiel assassins on 855AD assassins are with ranks so basim around 855AD he was still an apprentice climbing to become a master assassin so i think the game will END before 868AD because we learn from basim lore he traveled to constantinople to meet sigurd and he stays there for 2 years and the event of valhalla begins in 870AD so here it is AC mirage timeline we play as basim in 852 AD 855AD = maybe we will see how al-Mutawakkil got assassinated ( i'm not surprised that it's a main quest for his DEATH to be in the game maybe basim killed him or a templar and that templar basim will hunt ) 862-868AD = when on this time he already is a master assassin

This setting will truly be great to see in the spotlight within a triple A studio's game. The thing about Ubisoft's historical settings though is they get quite a few things wrong, a lot has been correct in the past sure, but wardrobe, language, architecture and even things like plant-life in the time period has often been slightly off. So although I can't wait to see how they do it, I know for certain there will be a lot of inaccuracies

I think that they would not leave Al Tabari out of the game. Al Tabari was a massive figure who was not just a historian. He was also an Islamic scholar who had strong political convictions. He once stated: "If in every discord between two factions, one has the duty to flee, stay at home, and withhold one’s sword, then no single law would ever be upheld and no injustice would ever be negated. Moreover, every hypocrite and transgressor would find a way to unlawfully seize what Allah made unlawful from the wealth of the people, their women and spilling their blood, by joining forces with one another, while the Muslims would withdraw their hands by claiming this is a discord that they have been prohibited from getting involved in and have been ordered to flee, which is in contradiction to the Prophetic teaching “Seize the hands of the foolish ones” (i.e. stop them)" -Muḥammad b.

I think most of it will be guesswork. and what about samarra, and alamut (I think that's the castle in construction we see in the trailer) I'm sure they'll include most of the characters you mentioned if not more, it's in the basic dna of the games. can't wait to see it, and also now that the mughal series is over, I hope youll post more about the abbassids, you do it so well, thanks.

One more prominent Islamic personnality was present at the time in Samarra and Baghdad, Imam Al-Askari. He was imprisioned by al al-Mu'tazz and poinsoned by al-Mu'tamid. I don't know if refernce id to be made or maybe just stay away from that side. But would be cool to see Al-Askari's death being having some impact in the game

I think the game will be poor historicity, since the western dont care much about that era, but maybe if you try to reach to the developers of this game about the most important events that happen at that time they might adjust! Anyhow i’m excited to see how is the game going to be

Muslims knew quite a bit about them. Persians looked back to their predecessors a lot. But I think that mask has more to do with AC lore than real history, no? I think the mask represents the Hidden One or something.

  • @AlMuqaddimahYT

I'd say that came more from the Turko-Mongol culture. They had a tradition that all sons were equal claimants to the throne. Abbasids weren't exactly like that, they had more defined succession. The Caliph chose a son and he ruled. But I guess, brothers always pose a danger to the throne.

@@AlMuqaddimahYT I know that that was part of the Turco-Mongol culture. It was just that I was wondering how much Sultan Mehmed II needed to convince himself and the ulema to go with the idea of fraticide. If the civil war that happened in the aftermath of the capture of Sultan Beyazid I did not help, I guess he may try to bring up the Anarchy at Samarra to help his case.

@@AlMuqaddimahYT This actually got me into trying to picture the scene where Sultan Mehmed II actually try to legitimize fraticide within the royal household with the ulema right now. I can see it as a heated debate that the ulema resisted fiercely but the Sultan came out on top by bringing up the conflict between his great-uncles and the civil wars that the Abbasid Caliphate went through to back up his case.
