I wonder how much it would’ve helped Tranzit to have literal bus stops. Like stations at each location, and perhaps placed through the fog, where you could call the bus straight to that location. Even if it costed points. Regardless, Tranzit is an unbelievably amount of fun with friends. Although it was probably intended to be taken seriously, it handily ended up being taken satirically which ended up a ton of fun and a nice change from other maps

Probably a meter of some kind to let you how far the bus is away from you too, that way you dont waste points if its close by anyway.

I always see BO2 as the weird puberty adolescence period in zombies. It tried new things, some of it worked, some of it didn’t, but it was ultimately essential for its development into BO3.

yeah but bo3 was garbage honestly. the gobblegum was a cool idea but if you arent doing the easter eggs the maps arent worth playing. they dont have that high round design and since the easter eggs are all convoluted calculus level goose chases with multiplayer mandatory to complete its almost not worth playing at all unles you miraculously have 3 friends that play the same 10 year old games as you lol

This game is my entire childhood, to think it’s nearly 10 years old near turns me to tears. I’ll never love a game like this one, just remember sneaking on to play it with my friends on school nights and going in and talk about all day in school.

I just got Origins like two or three weeks ago. Also my first time ever having It/ playing It. I do gotta say I see and understand where all the hype Is In this map! I’m not gonna say I prefer It more than Mob of the dead, but It’s still a great map.

Honestly I love Tranzit, it’s a map that’s really only as fun as you and your friends make it, and we made it ridiculously fun

I actually loved Nuketown zombies. Reminded me a lot of world at war’s Zombies with a heavier focus on defensive survival rather than just running around. Finding a good camping spot with friends and trying to climb the waves is fun when the gameplay encourages it 25:35 I also wouldn’t agree with that. A growing trend with Blundell maps is that they got “louder, more bloated and less focused on solid horde defense mechanics” and more about completing quests. Blundell didn’t seem to quite understand the balance between story and horde defense that previous maps had

And that blundell maps usually had simple quests and complicated quests on one map so anyone who wants an op weapon would do a simple quest and get rewarded vs Easter egg “hard quest”.

If you were to make the 2 changes of 1: When the jet gun breaks it appears in the box like the sliquifier instead of needing to be rebuilt 2: An anti-fire/lava perk then tranzit would undoubtedly be better than die rise

@@the_honkler778 perhaps, I just find them to be kinda bs reasons to dislike it or at least put it below die rise. The jet gun is a waste of time and a waste of potential I'll defo admit but it never bugged me that much since its optional. If it was like later cod zombies where they literally make u do fetch quests in order to progress and have fun then I'd understand completely. As for the lava I'm sorry but its not that much of an issue. Of course there's nothing worse than going down because of it, tho that wasn't a regular occurrence for me, but it wasn't something that made me like the map less by such a margin that it made rather play die rise or not play it at all. Town had lava, tho not much, and yet that map was pretty well liked so I don't see how lava itself is such a big issue. There's only one particular bit I can think of the lava doing u dirty and that's cos its out in the fog and the denizens plus lava equals death but its avoidable most of the time. Die rise worked against u with its verticality, wonder weapon and the fact u had to jump across buildings and risk fucking up all ur progress. Plus I hated the jumping Jack's, just hell hounds made incredibly fucking annoying and in those incredibly tight spaces it made me wanna punch my friends tv. The map itself fucked u over, whilst tranzit was never a challenge for me and I was a major zombies bangout as a kid. The only reason u fucked up on tranzit was cos u didn't knw what to do or u were just shit at the game and wanted an easier ride like the newer cods offered. Was tranzit perfect? No. Was it the worst map ever? Fuck no, that award goes to die rise for me, without a doubt the only zombies map I couldn't have acc fun on.

If the main criticism of Whos Who is giving you the starting pistol, it should’ve given you the Mustang and Sally instead and if you successfully revive yourself, you keep Who’s Who, if you don’t you only have one extra chance until the next time you’re down with it, you have to revive yourself or it’s game over

Bo2 was my childhood I have so many nice memories playing buried and mob of the dead with my older brother and his friends and it’s so nostalgic. Back when life was much simpler watching your videos makes me feel better and brings back so many memories. Thank you Tim ❤️

Buried is so underrated i love the trailer song. The gameplay is amazing especially if you don’t use the bank and the ATMOSPHERE God the atmosphere is so amazing.

Tranzit always gets shit but to this day it’s still on my top 3. I loved everything about it. It was unique without being too different. The wonder weapon was garbage tho. I would definitely play a new version of the map. Bigger. more stops/ buildables. Beef up the bus with more attachments. A cool battle with the Avo

I think that tranzit and die rise had plenty of hype back in the day, as our retrospect grew bigger with other maps and ideas, the gameplay and mechanics of the tranzit and die rise aged poorly. To me this will always be the peak of zombies since there was this combination of being naive enough to believe we had a B route and PHD flopped but not too advanced to solve Easter eggs in 2 hours after the games released…… I will always hold these maps in my heart because I don’t think we’ll ever see something this special again.

Bus route B and PHD were more desperate wishful thinking from the community. Tranzit and Die Rise were such absolute dogs shit that the community was just looking for ways to fix it.

I would love to see tranzit recreated, without the denizens. I dont mind the lava too much or the fog. Maybe not a perk but a craftable to negate the lava. And buff up the jet gun.

Honestly, I liked the 'freedom' I felt when I played tranzit. It was a change from just blocked off indoor buildings and maps, I know it's the same but it felt like you had a whole town to explore. Thing is, they could've made it better but, its a personal favourite.

Best about BO2 was how experimental it was, we got Grief, Survival (big maps into small map), Turned, Perma-Perks, Tranzit (without Tranzit you wouldn't have Mob nor Origins as it helped them understand how big a map can be), The wall weapons being guns from the past while the box had guns from the future with each map having introduced more weapons from the multiplayer such as AK-47, AN-94 etc. The ranking system was friendly towards newer players to help them get into zombies which is always welcome as you want new players, you want to introduce new people to a game you love you don't want them getting lost constantly or being confused. BO2 zombies gets alot of hate but without any of those risks, you wouldn't have any of the cool,unique and interesting maps you have today and i feel zombies going on, played it way too safe and really stopped taking risks which is what made me lose interest as all the maps in BO3 felt the same with no other gamemodes like Survival nor Grief despite them being loved and respected both of which never returned which is a massive missed opportunity.

That is true with nuketown bringing the m27 and LSAT, die rise with the AN-94, SVU and PDW-57, mob with AK-47 and Uzi returning from old games and while technically a new gun of m1927, it is practically the Thompson from WAW and PDW-57 returning from die rise, buried with LSAT and PDW-57 returning from nuketown and die rise respectively and AN-94 from die rise as well, and having a map exclusive of Remington new model army, and finally origins with the KSG, Skorpion Evo, Scar-H and a map exclusive of MG08, with the mp40 and stg-44 returning from WAW/BO1. All of this factors make map replayability even better because you can have many different playstyles on each map and have each unique factors and the whole game being experimental as a whole, which is why bo2 is just my favourite game

@@Haneef_05 Another thing to note to all the guns are balanced with each other, like BO3 for example all the guns can be double paped with turned on it then it's basically a wonder weapon so using anything but those wouldn't be fun. BO2 all the box weapons start dropping off at 30 so with those special weapons being unique to the map you get to enjoy them longer aswell as instantly swap your play style by grabbing any of the box weapons since they all basically share the same drop off in rounds, none are more OP than another which makes all those weapons so fun to use compared to how BO3 and BO4 handled it.

Man even back when BO2 and thus, TranZit/Green Run first came out, I actually really liked Samuel- I didn't think the Victis crew was that bad

For me it wasn’t until buried that I began to like the crew since the map was so fun I started to take a like to the character Samuel was my favorite only Rustman was my least favorite out of any characters in zombies I even like og Takeo more

I’ve always loved Easter eggs as I’ve played them all starting from bo2 to bo3 with a group of 3. Me and my grandmas neighbors kids who were my best ogs back in the day EJ and Joshua wherever they are. If you’ve ever had trouble doing Easter eggs with 4 we’ve only done them with us 3 which was absolutely amazing as a kid.

I still remember loading into origins with a full lobby with my buddies (who had all played and familiarized themselves with the map) and being astounded and lost all at the same time, though I enjoy mob of the dead the most, origins is in a category of its own in my books, an absolute masterpiece of a map

If you dont get chills when Samantha’s Lullaby starts playing, you are dead inside.

Tranzit introduce the zombie shield that then became a staple in newer maps (granted u couldnt carry the shield and turbine at the same time which sucked but u could put the shield down so that was cool)

7:52 I always saw this as a cop out for Treyarch, the limitations came more from their engine not the consoles themselves. Battlefield 3's 'Armored Kill' map pack featured four maps that were all at least 3x the size of Tranzit, and the map Bandar Desert was almost 6x larger than Tranzit all in 2012. Tranzit's vision was possible on the consoles, just not on Treyarch engine at the time.

The PS3 could handle transit with just the fog no denizens no lava just fog I used mods in order to find this out I don't know bout xbox 360 tho

Recent cod zombies maps (cold war and vanguard) feel more like multiplayer maps than the atmospheric ones we usually get with any zombies mode(waw, bo1-4, WW2, IW). Bo4 was the last cod game to really distinguish zombies mode from multiplayer and campaign in terms of the feel and visual style.

Tombstone on town is actually useful if you’re not the best player or if you are the best player and you go down at the end of the round then next round you can get all 6 perks

I remember my friend asked me if I wanted to play BO2 Zombies, I of course (though hesitantly) said yes. When I heard the jingle to Transit in the loading screen playing, the chorus awwwing during each new round, and the zombies screaming as well as them chasing after the fucking bus especially seeing T.E.D looking like a demonic FNAF spinoff character, holy FUCK did I love and hate transit as it was the first map I ever played on. Seeing it now as a 17 year old in high school compared to my 10 year old self being scared out of my mind (which still happens to me at times 🤣🤣), it really brings me full of emotions, shock and treasures

Been on a binge watching all these CoD Zombies videos.. miss those days so much. 25 now, have no time to game, miss the days when I would stay up late with my cousins or friends from school and play these old zombies maps. I was mainly on World At War Zombies.. I can still remember the music we were playing while we sprayed down zombies, Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin, Flashing Lights by Kanye. The rain outside the house adding to the atmosphere. Not having to worry about anything. The excitement of getting a Ray Gun, hopping from CoD Zombies, to Left 4 Dead, to Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare, ending the night with some Gears. Simple times. Miss it all so much.

You make me want to go back and relive this . God cod has been favorite childhood game . 🥺

Fun fact Cornelius Pernell was a scientist who actually is the avogadro that experimented with the shard that they had made with 4 souls. He became the Avogadro and they locked him up in that tube.

I miss BO2 days. It came out when I was in middle school so my friends all played it. We would get home and hop on. I had a group that liked multi-player and a group that liked zombies so I could always have someone to play with. I grinded BO2 the most out of any cod. Also have the most fond memories that I'll never forget and WISH I had a recording of. So many memories with so many people in both modes.

Nuketown Zombies is so nostalgic for me. I remember playing it late at night with my brother and sometimes my mom. We were never good at it but we had so much fun.

But I think the map is a dope idea and I just love the Bus ride it is super unique to transit no other map has recreated the feeling of that bus. Also I personally love victis crew

die rise was my first official zombies map i’ve ever played so that where my love is for it

Tranzit is one of the best zombies maps COD ever made. It’s just that high round KZreadrs made a big deal about it and everyone just followed along.

I love this series but I'm sad that this channel is almost fully over I'll miss you tim

Die rise was one of my favorite maps from launch it was hard and that was a fresh change from black ops 1 maps where surviving high rounds was relatively easy to me

Almost 10 years since this game came out I was the 6th grade when this game came out and now I'm about to turn 21 time flies and you never realize how great you have it as a kid so to anyone still in highschool even middle school enjoy your time as a kid and always wake up with a smile on your face because your childhood doesn't last forever it goes by before you know it

I will be the black sheep here, since my absolute favorite maps in all of COD Zombies are Tranzit and Der Riese. The chaos element, and the vastness of those maps somehow still intrigues me. They are difficult, have lot to do while not being total fetch quests and will fuck you over. Absolute favorites.

i really liked parts of the tranzit map (like town and farm) because the cracks force you to adapt. og's learn to jump while running with muscle memory, giving it a very nice feel for the movement. farm is a really good individual challenge, because it's so bare bones with no PaP that the set-up process is seconds long and survival is based primarily on skill. tranzit sucks though. thats all for that.

Ok so let me get this straight. Rictophen sends the victis crew to do his to do list, while being attacked by zombies. But he controls the zombies. So why the fuck is he making the zombies attack his chore group!?

Cause they are just pawns to him and besides they should be able to handle them. Richtofen is the same guy who had his own agenda from Shi No Numa all the way to Moon where he abandons Dempsey Nikolai, Takeo and Samantha where they die on the Moon. He only cares for himself.

@@diamonddawg12 he did let them die lmao they died on the Moon did you not read my comment? He only used the other 3 to help him easily get the items he needed from Shi No Numa to Moon with getting his notebook, the golden rod, summoning stone, etc.

@@diamonddawg12 maxis ending in buried is canon. You must be referring to Origins Richtofen and not the other one. Seeing how the Origins Richtofen knows what needs to happen.

Bo2 was my first zombies game that i owned, so it will always hold a special place in my heart even if i was too poor to have the dlcs growing up (nuke town and die rise were the only ones i had for the longest time) and as a result die rise is my favorite map bc i could only play that or green run/nuketown

One thing I do love about origins is the intro sequence, Shepard of Fire along with the visuals is just feking amazing, it's due to that intro I got into avenged sevenfold

I definitely am one of those that love die rise . I enjoyed it because there were so many tricks for get around and setting up early on. I also enjoyed glitching back then and so it was fun trying all the newest glitches as they were found which there were soooo many in all of bo2. Great nostalgia for me although I understand people gripes

Same, die rise is my all time fav map. I totally understand the hate that it gets, but I have such good memories playing it. And how crazy it felt to have three guns packed on round 12 after you’ve got your routes figured out and money in the bank. What a game

Die rise really isn’t that bad and offers a lot of fun gameplay, the amount of unique and viable training and camping spots is insane, plus the verticality and atmosphere make it feel fresh and different from any other map, it’s definitely got flaws but it’s much closer to a subpar map than a colossal failure

I agree apart from calling it a subpar map, I personally love Die Rise and have it at my no1 spot Although granted I have only ever played 10 zombies maps out of the total 50 (I think 50, maybe more)

Tim is a man of fine tastes, my two favourite maps are der eisendrache and mob of the dead

die rise started as my groups most hated map. BUT it quickly became our favorite because I discovered that you could glitch a tramplesteam through a window on the large open roof with the red dragon sign towards the back and the zombies could only spawn in two other places, right in front of you at the top of a ramp. So me and my friends would take turns placing a trample steam in the window then wed all sit shoulder to shoulder, backs against the wall and see how long the shooting gallery could last we made it like round 31 doing that co-ordinating reloads to maximize fire down range it was awesome

The only thing I disagree with is the idea that the Victis Crew are insufferable. I personally like their varied personalities, it sets them apart from everyone else because unlike either Ultimis, Primis, The Mobsters, the Call Crew and The Morge Sinners, there is nothing that links this group other than the need to band together and survive. Each one is their own form of basket case and I simply adore all 4 of them for being that way, from Marlton's nerdiness to Stuhlinger's stupidity all the way to the badassary of Misty and Russman, I love them. Buried was by far my favourite map. Having to escort randoms through the haunted house, cackling manically as the ghosts took their money, and getting lost in the backyard maze.....I miss them.

... I actually really like die rise. Excluding mob and origins it's my favorite of 2. I found it very well executed and flowed well. I love the sliquifer, and the perk thing is annoying yeah. I never fell off all that much and it was just good to me. I still play it a lot. I like it a lot more than buried

BO2 zombies is my favorite because of how willing they were it take risks and change things up. Every map had a gimmick, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn’t, but they were all so unique.

I always say it . I’m 26 now and very thankful for all of the beautiful memories of these games, I will cherish forever. Still speak to some people I’ve met all them years ago to this day! They don’t make them like they used to !!

I'd definitely say the pack mechanic is a glaring flaw with MotD, I hate having to gather the fuel cans every single I want to go pack, also Brutus gets annoying especially when he starts locking stuff down

Buried is my favorite. So many memories with an Xbox and my cousin.

You've complained a lot about tombstone and arms grace, but they don't deserve the hate you give them. Why do you think tombstone was introduced on one of the most hyped up zombies maps? Why do you think arms grace was in your gobblegum pack the second you started BO3 zombies? It's because they're there for newer and more casual players. They don't 'incentivise death', they're there as a safety blanket to assist players who aren't as experienced as you might be; of course you dislike it, it isn't made for you. Having either of the two means that any more experienced teammates don't need to waste time trying to revive you, they prevent less experienced players from losing their weapons until they no longer need to rely on either of them, and they still give you the choice of other perks. It's not like you're forced to use them. I probably wouldn't enjoy zombies as much as I do today without having had tombstone and arms grace to keep me playing in the past.

Yeah a lot of his takes are generated from ignorance, but I understand them. I think many people also undervalue the extra perks you can get using Tombstone for high round attempts as well. (you can buy perks before grabbing your tombstone, allowing you to supersede the cap)

Man… I haven’t watched Tim in at least a year, when over lockdown there was a small resurgence in the proper zombies (WaW, B01, B02 and B03) and then stopped but I’m so happy to see more content about the proper zombies games. Thanks Tim. Keeping the zombie community alive. The new zombie experiences are utterly terrible. Cold War didn’t reinvent zombies well at all and vanguard is … well… yeah. Vanguard 🤣🤣. What a dumpster fire of a game.
