Great video thanks ☺️. Great use of the haversack. I think it's good to not trying to add everything and the kitchen sink to a haversack and over loading it making it unwealdly and cumbersome. I like the Idea along with belt carry and your pockets that the haversack is great way to carry EDC essentials and 10 C's for basic preparedness and few other supplies like emergency water & survival rations including lunch when you are out and about. But not trying to replace a backpack by over loading your haversack with everything else you would want on a longer trip keeping the haversack easy to carry. By using a small backpack or bigger backpack added when needed is the best of both worlds. According to what my needs may be at the time I start with pocket carry adding belt carry like belt knife 🔪, then belt pouch or small hip pack. I then add my haversack switching it back and forth from normal over one shoulder and around the neck carry to around both arms and flipped over the back like a back pack when I am walking any distance. And then I combine with a small or bigger backpack for when I carry the rest of the things I may need when out doors. To keep the haversack strap from hanging around my neck when combining my haversack with a backpack I will use a quick release buckle and strap coming over one shoulder from my back pack that attaches to a carry strap on the top of my haversack holding the weight of the haversack, keeping it close to my front so it does not catch on branches and things while walking, and the haversack strap can be tied to my belt or the bottom of my backpack to keep it from swing around.

Thanks for the demonstration of the haversack and contents. I really appreciate the ice water addition, I am always adding iced water to my day pack for a simple short hike. Thanks for giving me validation for my idiosyncrasy. I am a big guy also and with type two diabetes I get thirsty. There's nothing like ice water on trail!

Nice video ! Thanks. Just a question : you don’t have any shelter (in emergency) like a tarp or something to protect you against rain or wind ? Something that you can carry easily in your bag, easy and efficient. Stephane

Hi Stephanie! Thanks for watching and for your question. I reckon there’s two ways that I’d answer your question. First, I suggest that you watch my Haversack Philosophy of Use video, but to answer more directly, I’ll say a few things. In Spring, I’m not too worried about rain and wind in my area unless the weather calls for it, in which case I’ll take a rain jacket or poncho that I can stuff in my cargo pants pocket or under the flap of my haversack. Otherwise, I’ll just deal with being wet for a while until I can make it back home or to my car. Now, if it were really cold out, I might add a Grabber Space Blanket Tarp inside my haversack, but even then, my base strategy would be to get home instead of establish shelter - a rain jacket or poncho in my pants pocket will almost always be enough in such a case in the Spring here in Northeast Ohio. I Travel throughout the city of Baltimore. In my pocket I carry a wallet with bus pass no cash. Keychain tools. Back pack, Ice water bottle, bandage. Boo-boo style, pocket ponch, hand sanitary cloths, snack ham sandwich & trail mix, spare m97 mask and gas mask for bus & subway travel. No guns or knives. But do carry a big ass bottle of Bare sray. For the bad asses cellphone adapter with battery pack.

Just a couple of questions did you get any flack off the Smirnoff alcopop? And do you care? LOL

It’s also useful for cleaning up after processing raw meat, and it can be used to start fires. It’s useful stuff.
