China says efforts to expand the AUKUS security pact will destabilize Asia and the Indo-Pacific. AUKUS, the security alliance formed by Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, is reaching out to other nations including Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and Canada.
Would expansion of AUKUS bring regional instability?

As a kiwi, I am deeply concerned our government continues to talk to the war mongering West on this matter. I am confident all our Asian Pacific friends can work together. Australia will find their US and UK masters (ours too unfortunately) We are being used and are expendable when the time comes......NZ
As a Malaysian, we hv always been suspicious about Australian integrating into Asia. It is a US proxy and will act on US behest instead of Asia's interest.

I don't understand a country begging so much to be a nuclear target. They didn't understand that Russia or China (never again) will never be dominated. But old habits don't die. Take a chance to peace.
As an Aussie I'm completely AGAINST it. And I'm one of the many voices here that isn't heard! And that lady guest should think before she talks. She keeps contradicting herself! But that's what happens when you lie. You try to cover one lie with another!

What do you expect from a Fellow of China Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. Even if she wants to, can she express an independent opinion?
Why do they need AUKUS? Australia and UK had been closed allies of the uS for decades. That must be the closest alliance relationships in history of the world. What can AUKUS do that US-Australian or US-UK relationship cannot do? Australia and UK are in the exact opposite sides of the world. Australia is too small and UK too weak to get to the other side. What can AUKUS do, except provide totally unnecessary jobs for a few government employees?

Victor Gao has made many false statements 1. Nuclear weapons and nuclear power technologies are vastly different. 2. Yes a nuclear powered submarine can fire nuclear weapons but a conventionally powered can also fire nuclear weapons. 3. If a nuclear powered submarine is attacked it can not cause a nuclear explosion.
Doesn't the CPC have submarines that are nuclear powered submarine and nuclear armed?
Wait till China, North korea, Iran and Russia combined to South China sea for training and drills.

What is de stabilising Asia is the ever increasing Chinese military budget, the US budget has actually shrank. China's has almost doubled in the last 2 years, I think that gives this video to a stop in credibitlity.

Yep... And I'm looking forward to the day the CPC takes on the declining US empire in 2027 as they are telling us.
