I am the question you ask yourself everyday I believe this is why they started having “graveyard shifts” There were safety coffins in this case where if the person was buried alive their was a bell up next to the headstone that was connected to a string tied to the person in question to ring if they woke up. The “graveyard shift” was the shift someone took was the graveyard at night to listen for the bells to ring

Did anyone else have this as a childhood song? My grandmother used to sing the “worms crawl in the worm crawls out” ( not in a creepy way but like a fun way) then playfully poke my stomach. I thought she just made it up or something. I never knew it was an ACTUAL song

This song also has many versions btw. The song is thought to be a WWI song. No one actually knows that orgin. I was really excited when I heard this in the Scary Stories To tell in the Dark movie. It's about human burial and decomposition. It's a good song despite what it's about. The thought of being buried alive is one of my greatest fears... I guess they're testing to see if this poor woman in the animatic is a witch or not. Honestly, I genuinely would rather be drowned or burned, and both of those options sound absolutely fucking horrendous as well but they're over quickly. Depending on how long it takes for you to suffocate in the coffin, it could take days.

This must have taken forever. Great job😁

The part where they start to bury them reminds me of the scene in "IT chapter 2" When Ben is almost buried alive by Pennywise

Some skeleton mage of plastic called Mr. Jangles songs this song and I finally found it. Damn that's dark as hell. Rad.

Yeah I love these songs because they tell children reality and teach them not to behave in bad ways for reasons like this and to not care for things because in the end it won't matter.

What we know as "the Hearse Song" is an old nursery rhyme that has as many different versions as there are people who know it. Harley Poe's cover is awesome though.
