Haha she’s been in the Kombi since she was a newborn and even when she was growing inside my belly she’d hear the loud engine of the kombi 🤣 it’s completely normal to her.

You’ve proven that you don’t a.ways need a 4WD just good clearance and cool confidence. Your clearance has limits, but your confidence has none. Well done man.

You bring back wonderful childhood memories for me, bouncing through the desert in the Namib Naukluft Park in Namibia in our VW Kombi. My dad took his Kombi into a lot of places where you would only see 4x4s. I remember driving along the sand track in Sossusvlei, it even had a posted sign “4x4 only”. No problem. He had a lot of experience driving in the sand, we lived in Walvis Bay and went to Paaltjies a lot to go fishing. Just getting there was quite a challenge, very soft sand. Our Kombi was a 1976 Dokka.

The track in is no joke. So many cars have been wrecked there. Don't attempt unprepared or alone. Crocs can be found in the lower pool and creek area, so always be safe.

And yes there are crocs there... I once saw a baby Johnson there. It was only 5" long but where there's little ones, there's big ones hey? You're usually ok with freshies tho.

That waterhole was well worth the drive in, it looked absolutely amazing.
