The gun I had as a kid that started my interest in Air guns. Wish I still had it.

A lot of people got the bug from these. You can pick them up pretty cheap. Grab yourself a bit of nostalgia 👍
Thanks ,a nice and honest talk about the old Gat Gun, I purchased one a couple of years ago at a ploughing match for £2,(it cost me more for a box of pellets), I had a chrome one back in 1969/1970 cost about 30 bob (£1.50),, I have noticed to hit a beer can somewhere near centre i have to aim low and to the right, still good fun ,and brings back happy memories

There is nothing better than a little nostalgia. I love finding things that link back to my younger days. My kids can't believe that we had such cool stuff.
Had a black one, 7000 shots-no hits still loved it lol

That somes it up perfectly. 😆
Great memories. I had one in the early 80s....sat on my back step... “cocked” the barrel....whilst unscrewing the loading pin I dropped the pistol.... it spun round....the butt hit the step..... the barrel released and hit me square in the Kn&ckers,,, 😳😳😳😳😳 ..... I sang like a choir boy for years. 😂😂😂. Happy days.

That looks like a fun air pistol. I'll have to track one down, or something similar.

It's a ton of fun, especially with the corks. There are lots around at various prices. Thanks for watching.

My first ever air pistol. Came with a plastic fly swatter with the pack as well as darts and corks. Great fun

I remember the fly swatter, Happy times. 👍
My dad, born 1937, had an old Diana Model 2 which I guess he must have owned in his late teens, so mid to late 1950s. Same principle and general style, but with real wooden scales on the grip. I used to fire darts from it. Occasionally, I'd shake up a can of Coke and shoot it so the Coke spurted out of the hole.

😁 That's what makes these old air pistols so collectable. They still just as much fun today. They beat the pants off of a nerf gun any day.
Slices of spud at tin cans was my favourite 🤣

Easier to come by than corks. I know some that still has an original with the corks it came with. I don't think he had much fun ad a kid.
You've earned my respect!
Had one when I was a kid .accidentally shot my brother between the eyes. Mum didn't even know we had it so told her we was throwing a stick up into a tree and it came down and hit him.shot at about 12 yards and it did do some damage. If it had hit him in the eye it wouldn't have been good.

😅🤣 that a happy childhood memory. It could have been a lot worse, but it's turned alright in the end. I did a similar thing, but best not talk too much about that.
I didn’t have a gat my first pistol was an SP 50 for my eighth Christmas in 1976 😬 gen x we are the don’t give a f**k generation 😝👍

Good fun! My very first "air" pistol had a similar push in barrel with the screw type breach. But mine looked more like a 1911. I'd love to have another just for fun if anyone remembers them? I think in late 90's JS Ramsbottom where selling a pair with darts and a board in their Airgun World magazine double page advertisment. Keep up the good work:)

We used to shoot darts at a dart board (funnily enough) in the garage. I always thought as a kid rather than shooting someone with one. To hurt someone “cock” it get close an let the barrel fly

Had one in the very early 70's .. a black one .. accidentally shot me sister in the eye with the cork ... health and safety then ? , no chance , you could get any air rifle or pistol out of grattans / kays catalogue , providing you managed ( as a teenager ) to get past the ladies underwear section without some quality " own time " ... come on lads you know you did .

Unfortunately, there is always someone that let's the side down. You can make just about anything into a weapon if you're that way inclined. It's a sad story and one that will no doubt be repeated. Thanks for watching. 👍
