The HARDEST Succulents To Grow / Pachyphytums (+Caretips!)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
As we learn more and more about succulents, growing them becomes easier and takes less effort. So I thought it would be nice to highlight some of the more difficult varieties to give us yet another challenge. Pachyphytums, the name meaning 'stone plants', are definitely the ones that give me the most headaches. They are also some of the most beautiful and fattest succulents, though, and so I also wanted to give some tips so that you can keep them alive and growing!
Hope you enjoy the video and happy planting!

The pachyphytum were hard for me at first but now I understand them more so anyone can do it if you try 😊😊😊
more caretips and plant updates on your pachy please! 😊 great video Sir Mark! 👍🏻
Beautiful pachypatums🌵🍀🌱🌼😊
Relatable to me Sir Mark😅
You know what Sir. I had Bill baker and they are growing. I did not pay much attention i just place it in the clay pot together with Sedum Adolphi. I am a first timer just this year and not good in soil mixing. All i can say is that I mixed sand to the potting mix. I did that because Im running out of soil mix🤣 the Bill baker of mine is 8mos old now😂
Thank you for the info.
They are difficult!!! I’m glad it’s not only me!!
Thank you for this video, i love pachyphytum too!
Nice video...very informative....
All are so stunning Mark 🤩🤩 so happy your channel is growing too, I love your videos so much 👏🏼👏🏼
Hello Mark! I hope you can do beyonce, variegated mirinae, laui caretips soon! I would be nice if you’ll make a variegated succulents caretips during summer time. I love your videos!
Hi! Enjoyed this video. super relatable with all the pachys I killed over and over 😂 - compactum, glauca, machucae. Agree that they dont plump back after watering, they rot straight away 😂😂😂 great video sir!

😂😂😂 It do be like that sometimes...🤣
When propping any succulent, i try to keep the mama as dry as possible. I prop her up on the side of the pot instead of laying her on the soil, they stay alive much longer to support the baby.
❤❤❤
Very nice plants and also really enjoyed watching your video, Mark, thank you for sharing! I have had similar experiences, at first i found the Pachys quite difficult, but mainly i think they are - as you too say - very sensitive to overwatering. Perhaps because i treat them quite similar to many of my cacti they are doing fine for me now. Best wishes from Joe in Bavaria, take care and have a great day, happy growing!! 😊👍🌱🌱🌱🌵

@@KaleiPlants yes I liked it a lot, thanks again, Mark. And thank you for your response, I'm 100% positive sure you have already figured them out!!! 👍🏻😊Btw I have a Pachyphtum, the P. oviferum featured in one of my recent "Cool Succulents" videos on my new and young channel which you might be interested in seeing. I would also love to stay in contact with you, to learn more from you about Pachyphytums and other wonderful succulents that you are growing in future. Take care, best wishes 😊🌱🌼
Pachy one is extremely easy

Hii!! Could you recommend a substitute to pumice or pearlite??

When growing imbracata I use old strainers with a very gritty mix. Just the strainers you would use for food, big ones and they're big as a cabbage. Also, after a rain blow the water out of the center. I try to tilt the strainer sideways too to help the water drain off of her.
I bought one pachyphytum from Lowes for $3.99 and I repot it and it just died from root rot ☹️
One minute mine was fine next not so much.
