The Half Engine
(This video is created for a general audience, however, it contains content in it that may frighten or disturb younger viewers. As such this video is for teens and adults)
Hoo boy, The Half Engine. A video with a whopping 1GB worth in size, has a full fledged voice cast AND is eighteen minutes long.
This video is without a doubt, the BIGGEST project I've undertaken this year, with production starting back in August, only now finishing up mid-October!
This project is a labor of love; both to the story and to the horror genre as a whole! I am a big horror nut and really wanted to tap into a more darker side of Thomas horror videos that what I have usually uploaded.
A big thank you to all the VAs who participated and agreed to be a part of this production; everyone did a bang-up job!
And a MASSIVE thank you to Unhelpful Git, OhShootTre and KiwiConductor for the model of the titular Half Engine! The end product turned out wonderfully!
I hope you all enjoy this very dark and spooky tale!

My theory as to why Gordon was spared is that the Half-Engine only goes after those who mock her appearance, as that's what drove her to madness. Gordon only said he didn't believe she existed, so I think she charged him as a warning. Something along the lines of, "I am very real. Disrespect the legends, and they will come for you."
I love sound design of the Half Engine screaming in the background far before she even appears on screen, just reminding you that she’s present and around.
This is probably the most disturbing engine I’ve ever seen in a fan-made story. It’s incredible! 10/10
If I'm not mistaken, when James and his crew saw the scrapped engine wasn't the half engine screaming faintly?
It's an interesting touch with how you can here the half-engine's screams and wails quietly in the background of many scenes.
About time someone did a adaptation of this story
“Perfectly balanced, as all things should be”
I dont think a Thomas and Friends ghost story has actually left shivers down my spine in ages. That was actually scary! The screaming, the model of the ghostly half engine, the build up!!! It was marvelous!! I very much hope we see a follow up as to why Gordon of all engines was spared her wrath
That was intense. This just blows Carson’s “Demons” out of the water, and having just watched Thomas1Edward2Henry3’s video discussing his thoughts on it, that’s saying something. The half engine’s backstory itself is sad and sympathetic. It just breaks my heart when someone is born with some kind of deformity. Lastly, the half engines face when she charges at Gordon is going stuck to stuck in my head.
Now I know there’s no limit on how disturbing a sodor horror story can be
Can we just appreciate how terrifying
Interesting to me how no-one seems to mention how if you look closely in a couple scenes (namely
I already knew what was gonna happen
So no one's gonna talk about how the voice done for Gordon straight up sounds like Christopher Lee?? I didn't know that was something I wanted in my life, but now I just want more. Amazing job all around!
This. This is the one story out of all of these that made my skin crawl and scared me half to death. I felt honestly bad for the poor girl, but I dont condone her actions now. I hope that at some point the Half Engine finds some sort of peace
This was very well made, the "reveal" of the half engine when she charged Gordon was actually scary. But what was really terrifying was that she was watching them so close by at the end
Good lord, I haven’t felt such chills since I watched Shed 17 for the first time.
Dude. You knocked this out of the park!

wow, this adaptation of the half engine was totally cool, and even spooky for that matter, you and those who took part of the adaptation did great, especially for the voice cast, and even the animation for the scenes were just sick (awesome). you sir, did an awesome job on this adaptation of the half engine.
