This story was actually creepy, my favourite scene was under the trucks, It felt claustrophobic and uncomfortable. Which are the perfect feelings for that moment!

I think we've learned a few things from this one. First, make sure you build things to last. Quality comes before quantity. Second, if a place such as an old line and tunnel are worn down and bringing them back up to face isn't feasible, close it down. Preferably tear it down. Third, if said old line and tunnel (or bridge, or building, literally anything) looks worn and probably dangerous, don't go down it. Fourth and finally, if you or someone else get that gut feeling that something is wrong, especially if that other individual or being or object can sense something that you can't, that you should probably get out of there right away, DEFINITELY don't go down there. Common sense isn't so common sadly.

You can build things to last long but if no one maintains them for years they unfortunatly became dangerous. I do have a real life story which is similiar bht not tragic. There is this bridge in the middle of a town going over a river it has been poorly if even maintained for years yet cars still passed over it tho trucks were forbidden and passing was allowed at reduced speed. We went over it two times a day that was the last day brfore it was closed down for repair. After an inspection they deemed the bridge too unsafe to even walk on for larger quantities of peopl becuase the the supports in middle where so washed out and coverd in rust they were just barely holding on. The bridge is still under repair as far as i know there is a way around how ever it is 100 km long well for trucks at least there is a short way round for normal cars
Nikolai’s muffled screams are so unnerving.. if a child or teen was in or very close to the tunnel they would certainly break down into tears… and never be the same again!
I enjoyed this story far, far more than 'the man in the woods', which I felt really unpleasant. More believable too,; my grabndfather was a railway lengthman who looked after Shugborough tunnel on the Trent Valley main line; he taught me that railwaymen feared accidents in tunels more than anything else, because there was no way at all of escape.
This is something that I didn't know that existed. Despite some errors that other people pointed out according to the comments, I think this is really good and scary in my opinion. Well done.
"You never feel more alive, then when you're almost dead."
reminds me of a video I saw a year ago, of some guy filming a disused railway that went through a town, into a tunnel, and through a forest on the other side. can't remember where exactly it was. but the man told a story, that the tunnel had caved in or collapsed, while a passenger train ran through it, and nobody came out the other end. there were no tracks or sleepers, but the forest side of the tunnel could still be entered, though it was mostly flooded, and its unknown how far you can go. It is still assumed that the locomotive, carriages and people are still buried inside that tunnel

That actually happened in Richmond, Virginia. A tunnel collapsed on top of a work train, and the engine, cars and driver, possibly along with some of the workmen are still down there a century or so later. A similar incnident occured in Lancashire, when a mine shaft collapsed beneath a shunting train, taking both engine and driver down, and it proved impossible to recover the driver's body.

@@JohnDavies-cn3ro I believe the incident with the shunter might have been the inspiration for one of the Rev. W Awdry original railway series stories, Where Thomas, goes past a danger sign, and falls down a mine shaft. Gordon then has to come and rescue Thomas.
This story feels very Lovecraftian to me, in both structure and tone. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but it's still interesting that I'd find parallels to one of my favorite horror authors in a Thomas video.

Another great visual adaption, Sir! Are you perhaps into creating stories yourself, or just creating visuals from others' stories? This is the second of your re-works I've watched, and I've now subscribed, looking forward to more interesting tales. 🙂🚂
There needs to be a part 2 about why the tunnel is cursed or haunted.
I like the horror-esque theme

This reminds me of a video which involved the W&SR wngines going into the tunnel and never coming back.
Lower the volume of your sound effects. The story ceases to be scary if you're unable to hear it over the sound of falling/crumbling bricks.

Whoa, creepy
Chilling.
If I may say something, I’ve never felt that the tunnel was a ticking time bomb, but how did it become weak, usually men would do inspections of tunnels, bridges and other places and it’s almost like the curse of the tunnel and to be quite honest, I’m not sure or thinking if that really was on Sodor but is it really there on the map, I’m only asking this because I’m thinking that maybe there was another railway going the other way from Vicarstown station

Just a point, in case you're not British or greatly familiar with British geography, Scotland is at the top of Britain, while the L.B.&S.C.R was the London, Brighton, & South Coast Railway, in England's south, this being the same railway that Thomas (a semi-useless E2 class) came from. Word has it that Thomas was supposed to have been an (extinct) LNER J50 class but as the illustrator of the original Railway Series books was a Southern man, the great Reverend Awdry let him draw Thomas as an LBSCR/SR?BR E2 class engine. 🤯
