Ravnica has always been controlled by the powerful guilds, but despite the lack of focus given to them, there are many guildless people on the plane who live outside that power. As Magic returns to the popular streets of Ravnica for Murders at Karlov Manor, let's cast our minds back a bit further to the last time we visited the city plane: 2018-19's Guilds of Ravnica block.
With the city in the midst of a cold war, what's causing all the political tension? How have the guilds changed in response to the rising climate? And how are the lives of all those ordinary unguilded people affected by the ever shifting landscape? Luckily all those answers can be had by pressing play.

I applaud you that you pronounce Orzhov correctly. The phonetics of "zh" is why I love listening to Russian and French so much. Or-zov just sounds silly.
I love how the three Guilds that feel the most active against Bolas are the ones made from his color shard.
I know it's the low hanging fruit of every Ravnica discussion, but dang, Domri was such wasted potential, the only Ghruul who has actually seen a world that they're fighting for, a new punky aesthetic, anarchist, red colour identity, immediately bows down to an otherworldly Tyrant and dies for it... bruh...

I'm actually running a Ravnica inspired DND campaign right now. They aren't on Ravnica, but instead the "God" of the world is Ex-Azorius who built a new world with his Izzit sister before she got sick and died. We're at the point mtg storyline wise that the Omenpaths are opening and the "God" is panicked because he knows that if one opens back to Ravnica then the Azorius Senate or even Niv Mizzet might come through and take him back for judgement
