I never understood the Darryl/Whijo thing to be honest. Like they were a cute couple for sure but they weren't really the best couple ever. They were really incompatible on a lot of points and not the most healthiest that could make you go "Aww". It made sense for them to break up especially because they did for a really serious thing, it wasn't really a tragedy where you could consider their breakup a mistake and would be frustrated enough by it that you'd want them to get back together. I think Hector and Heather make way more sense. I don't think they're an otp either but at least I would understand if people were really into their couple. Like please can someone explain to me the big deal ?

@@ArturGlass.C I think people really like them together because A. they are represented as a healthy LGBT couple that doesn't make their relationship about their sexuality. B. They represent that age is just a number when comparing two adults who love eachother. C. They just overall have a healthy relationship that doesnt involve drama for the sake of drama. They discuss problems with eachother. They broke up in a civil non angry way, and it's hard to find that in tv couples, especially lgtbt couples. I think Heather and Hector also fit a lot of these categories which is why I like them together. I wasn't angry that Darryl and WiJoe didn't get back together. I actually thought it was a really respectable move to show that if two peopole have a disagreement that can't be changed, then it's okay to just be friends.

Can we just appreciate that Nathanial’s contribution here is his only part in the entire episode 😅

@@idontneedaname318 I meant both, which is why I said "characters/person" (I know that it should be people instead of person, English is not my first language so I sometimes make grammar mistakes) I can’t think of specific characters rn, (I wrote that comme more than a year ago) but there are definitely cases where the two token gay characters being paired together for no other reason than them both being gay. Though I think this issue is getting better as shows are beginning to have more representation (although we still have a long way to go). There’s no need to pair two gay characters that have nothing in common together if there’s more than only two gay characters in the story.

CXG gave us decent characterisation and representation while lampshading the expected cliches it breaks through; Voltron set up false expectations and instead gave us overused harmful tropes it thought it could get away with. So, you know, you reap what you sow.

I always appreciate this show's effort to approach relationships realistically. I've been worried all season that they were just gonna have WhiJo suddenly decide "hey I want a kid after all; let's get back together" out of nowhere just to please fans. I really liked the two of them together but at least for now, it's not going to work and that's ok. Let WhiJo move on (and Darryl too maybe?) and maybe they'll mature as people and end up back together in time.

Though I'm sure they all do it at some point, it also reminded me of how Rebecca often reacts to things in songs - "Ah, a bird!", "Oh neat a skirt!" Everyone on this show has been on Broadway which is really great because that's were I wanna go after college. Love the show, but it's not true that everyone on the show has been on Broadway... in fact very few of them have. Other than Santino Fontana, Skylar Astin & Donna Lynne Champlin, I can't think of any cast members who have been on Broadway. Can you? Rachel Bloom hasn't.

I've read that some of the cast are more experienced dancers, but somehow my eyes are often drawn to Vella Lovell in these group numbers. I find her movements when dancing seem more natural and tend to flow naturally and smoothly, overall. I was surprised to hear her say she doesn't think of herself as a dancer (recent interview). Huh. Great number! A real "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" feel, am I right? So sad this is the last season, but on to bigger and better for all I hope!

Wow.... *starts a slow clap* Another targeted hit against fans (WhiJo/Darryl shippers). AND in song, of course, AND while giving most of the cast plus some extras a chance to do THIS amazing choreo. I don't know about anyone else, but I never feel so pleased about being personally attacked as I do when it comes from CXG like this.

I think "targeted hit against fans" is a little harsh. I never think the CXG team is trying to attack the fanbase, I think they just want to gently point out to us when we might be doing something that's a little unhealthy.
