Can Confirm. Back when I was a wee lad, my family had this cat, looked quite a bit like this one actually. Every week or so during the Fall, this cat would chase black bears out of the yard. Black bears mind you, not grizzlies, but still, zero fucks given.

Lol, the cat rubbed her head on the bear. Number one rule of nature: the bear is the cat's property now.

@@randomzen924 If you’re talking about Timothy Treadwell, he never truly bonded with any of the bears in Alaska. They only got habituated to him. On his last season before dying, he did notice that a new bear came to the region where he was camping, and knew that the bear would probably pose a problem. He got eaten by the bear, in his camp, along with his girlfriend. This cat has bonded much better than Timothy did, and the bear has gotten used to it, unlike that old one which ate Timothy without hesitation.

1misanthropist / AGREED! A medium sized dog would be the best to have 1. Easier to lift then a large dog , 2. They’d listen better then a small dog, when you call a small dog they look at you like “Fuck you!” And keep running, 3. Medium sized dogs would be less overwhelming for a first time owner who lived in a small apartment or something, 4. A lot of dogs are medium sized so it’d be easier to find one.

So true, I had a friend who would put his gf's cat in a room when he came over with his dog because he was scared his dog would hurt the cat. I had to laugh telling him if anything he should be worried about his dog getting his eyes scratched out over the cat getting hurt.

@@1sTEfFaniE1 same, I had a cat and my cousin's two dogs, I was scared cause every time the dogs got near they would bark at the cat and growl, so we tied them up, wrong thinking, the cat go to one dog and beat the hell out of him the other got scared and every time the cat got near he would cry. Then I let the two dogs run free so they could hide, I couldn't find a way to Tue the cat or close in the bedroom cause he new the way of opening the door that didn't had a lock. XD In the end one of the dog stayed near the car like saying, when we where going back home? And the other joined the cat and started to copy the cat behaviour, hiding between books, trying to get on top of things and even making holes to take his business and then cover with sand. Was a mess XD

The grizzly didn't seem afraid of the cat at all! 🤓

Polar bears occasionally get a arctic fox as a companion. It is too small for the polar bear to eat, gaining very little from eating fox. But the fox gets security and more food than it can eat. Same situation, only with a cat and a brown bear. Some things may be different however.

I have preferred dogs to cats but after my dog died I came across a cat that was living on someone's open air porch and only ate when someone was kind enough to feed it. She has been with me for 4 years now and I'm glad that she adopted me. A month ago I found another cat about 6 months old in pretty much the same dilemma and now she too has a warm bed and a full belly. Cats are loving companions just looking for a warm bed on a cold night, a little food for their empty stomachs, and someone to love.

It's nothing short of amazing, the cat body language is a lesson to anyone who can see it (few). How he acts confident, yet is very aware never to upset his ferocious humongous ogre friend. When he taps the bear with his paw without his claws , to tell him "hey back off!", you can see how he keeps his head low which means submission and he surely navigates fear but definitively enjoys the bear a lot. A very courageous but very intelligent cat. The bear sure likes the companionship but the bear's friendship is only secondary to his stomach, i hope he is always well fed.

I love how when the bear is eating he casually and carefully picks him up like : I love you buddy but i'm eating and you have to go over here😂

The bear clearly identifies the cat as a hunter - however, he also knows that this hunter is so small that he will not be a food competitor. The cat, on the other hand, moves with the greatest naturalness next to and around the bear, it has everything but fear. The bear also notices this and accepts the little friend. In nature, such symbioses will probably occur more often than assumed.

Not only that, but they likely help each other a lot. Bears can't kill snakes easily, especially without getting bitten, they simply aren't fast enough (usually) however, cats are more than capable. Cats can also hunt things that would be more of a pest to the bear, such as mice/birds.

Cats generally by nature are not too friendly towards other animals, but this sweet kitty is super friendly with this big guy we are scared of. Amazing 😻!

Several bears WERE injured in the making of this friendship and most received prompt medical care and thorough rehab services

Guarantee it’s just because it’s a ginger. Ridiculously friendly cats. They can befriend anything

Bear lifted cat by the neck...thats how mothers lift babies. I wonder if the bear somehow feels some kind of nurturing instinct towards the cat.

It plain and simle makes me happy to hear that somewhere, some time, there was a bear, and the bear had his little pal - the cat. They lived together, playing, eating, resting. And that was that. They simply lived out their happy little livee, in a sanctuary.
