that might be a way to domesticate them. Their metabolism lowers over the winter and they're forced to sleep. over time we could speed up their metabolism/lower their lifespan so they adapt faster

I think the procedure when seeing a bear in the wild is yelling at it so it goes away. I think black bears are less responsive to that. At least that's what I got from their exchange.

It was probably a rental cabin. Those are all over the Smokys. I was in one last May for a week. Same view. Was amazing waking up to it everyday, going out on the deck and having a cup of coffee in the morning while the "smoke" was still in the mountains. 👌❤👌

Growing up in northeast Pennsylvania, having black bears visit our properties was common. Whether trying to get into our garbage cans, our birdfeeders, or pools, black bears were everywhere, 24 hours. The one in this video is a little one, probably only a yearling. Black bears stay with their mothers until the age of about a year and a half, at which time they’re nearly as big as their mom. The only concern here is that the protective mom might be near, and feel you’re threatening if you try to intervene. Other than that, black bears are the most docile of any American bear. Now a grizzly or polar, that’s another story!

In the last century there have been just over 60 recorded deaths to black bears (in N.A) and not many more confrontations (North American Black Bear Association). There's a ton of rental cabins with jacuzzis in that area, and the bears know it. They steal food and take baths on a regular basis, and occasionally wander into town. Recently there was a case of a guy in a rental who got mauled by a black bear who got in through an unsecured door, so while some of them are docile people should always be very cautious.

@@purplegypsylady777 People think they're dangerous but the only times conflict between bears and humans happens is when dogs are involved. Often when people walk in wooded areas with dogs off leash, dogs will react to coming across a bear and everyone gets frightened. l do hope people will get more education about the gentle black bear. And in areas where bears live nearby --- always be careful to avoid attracting bears with foodstuffs left outside!

When I was younger I once sat in a jacuzzi with two black bears 😑 I was like *What?......Ok...then* and we sat like that for about 3hrs or so Edit: I forgot to add that I had watch 4 anime's with them as well...and one of them was about a black bear 😅(but I don't remembered the name tho)

Black bears are amazing. Just keep your distance and don't over dramatize. Cleaning the hot tub is a small price to pay for such joy to an animal. We get them and always feel blessed.

He is NOT a bad bear! He was better behaved than many Airbnb guests are. Can you blame this bear? The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, a lovely view of the sunrise on a chilly morning, and the soothing warmth of a nice hot tub. It probably felt so good to get in the warm water on a chillly morning. lol

Faith, The substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. There’s a missing puzzle piece in everyone’s heart. Actually the sun is rising. You can tell by the birds singing. Most song birds are diurnal, meaning they sleep at night, thereby chirping and singing when they wake up in the morning as the sun rises
