He is just too sweet and cute. I'm sure he took off with the store owner's profit in total. Can't help it but I find him adorable. They are so beautiful and full of innocent mischief.

This bear is a lot more decisive and a lot more gentle with the stock and the shelves than some of the human customers I met while working in retail… I’m simultaneously amazed and terrified for the man in the store.

@@TheSuspectOnFoot I love customers who come in, get what they want, pay, and go away. I don’t mind customers who take 20 minutes to choose something as long as it’s well within my shift. It’s only annoying when they want to do that when I’m closing - in which case I’d tell them that they either choose before I close for the day or come back tomorrow. The most annoying customers are the ones who come in not just to buy stuff but to chat. They interfere with what I do and get offended if I don’t pay attention to them. Paired with the ones incapable of shopping for themselves- not because of a condition they have, but because they refuse to reach into a fridge or freezer and get what they want. Oh, and the people who sneeze into their hands before touching something or handing me the money, and get their snot and spit all over the products and my hands. Gross. And some other gross stuff. That’s about it. You sound pretty alright in my book. 😂

It happened in Washington state in 2019 shortly before the pandemic lockdowns. It seems to me that there's a pattern which establishes that they should shoot. I think it helped that the employee was from Wisconsin. Most people who don't have experience with bears would be a lot more freaked out than this.

You could tell that the cashier was a little nervous but I’d be damned scared. Having grown up around brown and grizzly bear, I know how unpredictable they can be. I also know how strong they are. I once watched a male grizzly bear tear down a 60ft+ tree because he wanted the bee hive in it. 5 minutes. Gone.

The more and more i see of these Bear videos the more i realise how exceptionally smart they are... they know they remember they even try to be careful not to knock anything over!!... amazing animals

A projectile would make him run away fast. Throwing a can of soda - this works with dogs too. 1) they feel the sting of the impact 2) and they do not know where it came from 3) that spooks them and invokes their "Flight" instinct (you know, 'fight or flight' instincts) I was walking up a small hill in an upscale neighborhood in the hills in California. One of my neighbors was cowering behind the bushes - in her own front yard! "What are you doing?" I asked her. "There's a big dog!" I was still walking up the hill. As soon as I crested the top of hill, sure enough, there was a pretty large what appeared to be a Pitbull-Rottweiler mix. i understood immediately why my neighbor was hiding behind her hedges - the dog, upon seeing me, started advancing and it was obvious the dang thing was not a friendly dog. Not a Golden Retriever. I was exposed, nowhere to run, I did not fancy trying to outrun it. "What am I going to do here?" I thought. Picked up some of the small rocks on the road. I nailed that freaking dog right in the head with one. It got out of there fast. Gone in seconds. Attacking me would not have solved its problem, I was still too far away for the dog to think I was a physical threat. It could not associate that pain it received with me, I was not close enough to it. That spooked it. Unless the animal is injured or has rabies, it you hurl projectiles from a distance, it will retreat. Projectiles that inflict pain, it's too hard for an animal to figure out and make the connection where the projectile came from. Same is true with projectiles from a rifle. A can of Pepsi on the forehead would have made that bear retreat out of the store.

Maybe include a bear trap hidden nearby to ensure the kill? I love animals, don't get me wrong, but I'm sure people who have to live with this in their daily basis know how to protect themselves violently. Some people like this dude just choose not to.

I raised my Pitbull, Buster, up in the Sierras and we`d go to town (Twain Harte) at night to the 7/11. He`d go right for the girls working and put his paws right on the front counter where they`d always give him a treat. Occasionally, we`d drive down to the coast at Santa Cruz Boardwalk where the Folks lived and on any night when it was quieter, he`d follow me into a number of 7/11`s. He knew it was a 7/11, he knew exactly what to do and he was never ever turned down.🤣

Even the animals are starting to help themselves with the stores

In Key Largo, FL, I worked at a large dive shop that had a retail store with clothes, gear and snacks. Every morning we'd come in to find toothmarks on the candy bar and cracker wrappers, and some partially eaten.... overnight RATS...so, we of course would throw them away. I didn't want the owner to think the missing snacks were from us workers eating them, so on the customer list I created an account with the name "Mr. Rat." I'd charge him for the goods he ate. One day the owner was looking through the accounts and yelled out "Who's this Mr. Rat?" and I explained. He was really mad (since it made him admit we had a rat problem), and he made me delete the account.
