An intruder at a police facility gave some officers quite the scare. It happened at the California Highway Patrol's Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility in Donner Pass. Imagine their surprise when this bear casually turned the door knob and let itself in. It must not have been hungry, because it completely bypassed the vending machines. That couldn't happen in the old days. Door knobs used to be impossible for bears to manipulate. Due to laws requiring door knobs be made more handicapped accessible, however, the design was changed, and inadvertently made it easier for bears to operate them.
