Mike, if you want the true cajun experience at least come to lafayette or anywhere within a 20 mile radius of there. You will find that to be the most representative of louisiana cajun cuisine. New Orleans is primarily creole but can be a tourist trap for food. They have their own culture both people and food so definitely take the extra 2 hours up hwy 90 to try it out!

Mike, next time you’re back in Redmond, WA, go across Cleveland Street from fairly close to your apartment to Prime Steakhouse and get their Happy Hour bone marrow. You’ll be a happy camper if you like bone marrow. The bacon jam they serve with it is an excellent foil for the lusciousness of the marrow.

These kinds of discoveries like this Cajun buffet are so bittersweet...Because you just know that after this video, that most likely the prices are going to go up (nothing inherently wrong with that, just sucks in general) and it's always going to be super busy. it's just that a lot of these smaller businesses usually struggle to keep up the amazing quality and consistency, when they get suddenly get a ton of customers because of a viral video or being featured somewhere. It can really be a make it or break it moment for the restaurant and it's always depressing to hear that it ended up being the latter. It's quite a double-edge sword, because it's great to shout-out small local businesses and get them the recognition they deserve, but at the same time you never know it if it'll ever be the same...for better or worse. Still with all that said, I love the video and love that Mikey shouts-out small out of the way places like this so people like myself can someday try them out! I'm absolutely am drooling over that Cajun buffet! Home cooked southern-style heartwarming food like that is probably my favorite type of foods period but unfortunately it's so hard to find a place that does it right. So that REALLY makes me want to try this place out one day! If that place was nearby, I'd probably end up eating there more than I eat at home! Especially if it's $12 on weekdays, that's steal no two ways about it! Especially considering the quality and variety of the food. I mean, most chain buffets cost twice that, and while they may have a bigger variety of foods, they don't come anywhere near that quality!

I'll claim Popeyes the best ff fried chicken.. Everything is contingent on freshness in receipt. Nothing could compare to the individual Mom n Pops places with their own recipes and short order production. I'll vote every day for the small business, when it comes to the ff, I'm a Popeyes gal, spicy thighs with immediate hot sauce and honey drizzle whilst I take a bite of that biscuit. Theee best... Also, mashed for the side, skip the drink. It's been too long, lol, can you tell?

We from Kenner and tried Louisiana Purchase once years ago. Once was one too many. That was knock off, straight outta a can cajun food. If yall come to NOLA and want to try local food outside the city please go to a real cajun restaurant. I, personally, suggest yall go to a part of Metairie called Bucktown and try New Orleans Food and Spirits for everything on the menu, but mainly chargrilled oysters and voodoo rolls. Next door is R&O's for a debris poboy (Anthony Bourdain even did a show about this place). Across the road is Deanie's Seafood for they Fried seafood platter and bbq shrimp.

I think it was April's boss that was always trying to eat Turtle Soup 😂 and she would always dump it on his head!

I've been to the first place, and it's a damn good deal for $12, but the food is nowhere NEAR as good as he's making it sound. Trust me, the reason that mac'n'cheese is "al dente" is because it's dried out. If you're just visiting New Orleans as a tourist, There are literally hundreds of better places to go.
