I own one and it is by far the best bike I’ve ever ridden. There’s a tune online that removes the heavy throttle restrictions, throttle body limitations(throttle only opens to 70% at wide open) and torque limitations in the first 3 gears while also increasing horsepower from 165 to 183 and torque from 165 to 171. The bike is insane before and a literal monster after.

@Homie look at the yamaha Niken, it was a similar concept but even more extreme. Pushing the envelope of what we design as a motorcycle and doing it for the sheer pride of it. And I think this bike overall is more adept than it seems to be on paper.

I took delivery of my Rocket 3R, 8 months ago. I wanted effortless cruising, easy low speed riding, ridiculous accelleration, decent handling, good brakes, good shocks, traction control, abs brakes, cruise control, great looks, smooth throttle control, hill start hold, not a Harley ( only because everyone has got one, and I do love them too), and could hold its head up among Harley riders, awesome build quality and something I could see myself riding for many years to come. That's what I got and I love it. No regrets from me.

I bought a 2007 Rocket 111 new years ago. The transmission out put bearing failed around the time warranty ran out. Triumph did repair the bike under a warranty claim. A dealer upgrade kit was installed. I must say the repair took a few months to sort out. I still ride this bike, it is one of 10 I have. A little top heavy until you get used to the weight of the machine. It is by far the fastest bike I have ever rode. When you roll back the throttle, hold on because you are in for a ride. I am 65 years old and still get a thrill riding this bike.

I test drove a new Rocket 3 last weekend for the first time. It was at the Triumph demo days and they had this bike tucked in the back for advanced riders only. I was blown away, the low end torque was amazing, power at any RPM. It was the fastest bike I've ever been on, can't really compare it to a sport bike because sport bikes need really high RPM for power, this has power at any RPM. At 60 mph in 4th gear the RPM was only 2,000 which blew me away, I'm sure you could go super fast on this bike without winding it out. Riding on gravel with pot holes was rough though, it's a street suspension for sure. And yes, it feels like you are riding a rocket LOL.

I just hit the 2.000km with my brand new R3R, and this is the greatest ... monstersize roadster ever made. Despite the fact that Triumph tried to lure the cruiser customer base with the R3GT, most people in Europe (according to my Triumph dealer) tend to have the middle instead of the forward foot controls. The fact is that I bought my R3R as a 400km used motorcycle, because the previous owner actually thought it would be a cruiser (had the bags, sissy bar, luggage rack) and got so disappointed he sold it back (minus approx. 7.000€) to buy a real cruiser. Lucky me ! The reasons he gave the dealer are basically crazy arm-stripping torque, no wind protection even with a custom windshield, and passenger seat is a wood plate. Really, if you're looking for a cruiser, give up on the R3, GT or R.

Currently have a Raider and have been eyeballing these for my next bike. Not that I really need one as the Raider is excellent. But, there is always that manly desire for wanting something bigger. With that price tag I probably wont end up getting one of these though :( My Raider cost about 1/4 the price and is still meaner than majority of the cruisers out there. I would go for the GT model if I was to get one though. There are only a handful of bikes I would consider as an upgrade to my Raider that I actually like the look of. I don't like the look of the Diavel. Vmax looks decent, if not a little odd. I like how beefy the Rocket looks.

After 40+ years and approximately 750,000 total miles; health impedimates closed the door on my beloved career on motorcycles. If I was to be granted a second chance the new Rocket III would be the bike. I once owned a 2014 R3 Roadster for two years. Of all the motorcycles and many genres of motorcycles I owned since 1969 my R3 Roadster put an ear-to-ear grin on my face the from the moment I threw my leg over it. The ONE thing it(and every other 500+lb motorcycle) needs is the Norman Hossack design(BMW-Duel lever) front suspension or an applicable Saxon - Motodd (BMW-Tele-lever) suspension. Not only would these 1/4 ton beasts handle much better and NOT brake-dive so violently, but GONE would be the all too regular and costly replacement of steering stem bearings every ten thousand(or so) miles. There are very valid reasons BMW keeps the "Tele-lever" on the 600lb 1250GS and "Duo-lever" on their 700+lb 6 cylinder super cruisers, and Honda adopted the "Norman Hossack design" to their Goldwing.

it made me smile when you opened it up, i really want to ride one, but, i don't want to own one, i dropped my speed triple not so long ago at a stop sign, however i somehow managed to leap off and hold it before it hit the ground, luckily the guy behind me leapt out of his car and helped me put it upright, no damage whatsoever, if it had been a big bike, ie a rocket, it would have been a sad mess. besides, i love my 2020 1050 more than any of the 20 odd bikes i've owned over the years, incidentally, the worst bike i have owned was a pristine 2014 Harley Heritage, we just didn't get along together.
