I use mine as my daily commuter - it entices me to give it beans at every set of lights. I found the mid controls were more engaging for me - more aggressive and works for me. The big engine performs effortlessly all day long. The GT screen takes care of the wind and a good helmet helps. Does not really matter what gear you are in at any given time - just twist the throttle. Guys, puts a smile on my face every day... Audio - I swapped out for the Patriot exhaust and now the sound matches the look. When cruising it sounds like a spitfire in full dive under load and a tiger snarl at a set of lights.

You need to ride the Rocket with the unrestricted tune for a true taste of what this engine can do. From the factory, the ecu will only allow approximately 60% throttle body opening when you apply 100% manual throttle! The unrestricted tune allows 100% body opening when full throttle is applied. It increases power from 165 to around 200 HP and torque increases from 163 to 177. Scary quick, and doable with an android device, OBD link, and $15 to the guys at Tuneecu.

Great vid, thanks mate. I have a 1999 Fxstc out to 1550 and all the shite such as inverted twin disc front end 2” over, twin calipers on the back, single fire ignition, RBRacing 2 into 1, tricked CV with a velocity cone, Carlini torque arm, 3 piece Dragway billet rims running Pirelli night dragons, thunderheart billet forward controls, burley V bars, Arlen Ness switches and clutch n brake set ups, Barnett scorpion lock up clutch and Barnett clear derby cover, custom +5 degree billet triple trees, progressive adjustable rear shocks, beautiful mustang seat, custom front tool box mounted on lower down tubes in a front air spoiler configuration made as an alloy sheet metal structure then wrapped in 4mm leather by a saddle maker, tank bra in same leather by the same saddle maker, electronic tachometer shift light in a discreet format sitting just above speedo, air fuel ratio gauge and spartan controller, custom cooling fan that is unobtrusive and cost a mint, head temperature gauges, and on it goes…… why did I bother typing all this shite? I told my missus I want the triumph rocket 3 R black…she reminded me of the no multiple rego unless it’s club rego rule established some time ago when VicRoads were costing more than our mortgage…… knowing I could never sell the FXSTC she walked away confident. Until I gave it to my nephew…… that’s how impressed I am with this Triumph. Moral of this story, my nephew is smarter than me regarding bikes n engineering….he will love it and look after it, I didn’t sell it too a dealer or a flog… so I can live with that, I get too throw a leg over it now n then! It’s not about money…it’s about doing it right, at 62 years of age I believe the electronic assistance this Triumph offers may keep me in the saddle longer. I look forward to the day I can wash my bike without sourcing 10 plastic shopping bags too cover wheel hubs, electrical components, carburettor and such….. the old 1999 has tapered wheel bearings and shite seals so you can imagine how that goes. Billet and chrome is great too look at….try keeping it where it shines, I’m done with that because these days I spend more time polishing than riding. I reckon for the first time in my life I deserve a burger with the lot without having to make it myself….we only get one lap in the race of life, why not do a pit stop just before the end for an upgrade? The rocket 3 R black should have been around in 1999….imagine the time and money saved!

I love the bike! Unless you live in UK it's pretty hard to get a Rocket 3R Black. I got mine eventually, more expensive than it should have been, but in the end, totally worth it. This bike is PERFECT if you come from cruisers and want to touch the naked world. Me personally, I can't take a super naked, I hate the sound, I hate the high revs, but the Rocket... oh boy... it gives you everything you need at low revs. 2.7 secs to 100 km/h is something amazing. The build quality is awesome, the clutch, the gear changer- they are perfect. I drove a couple of days ago a Speed Triple 1200 RS. Even if the motorcycle is an icon itself, the Rocket 3R is WAY above it quality wise.

When I saw the black edition in person I knew I had to black out my bike. I have the werkes exhaust which looks so good blacked out on the black edition. I wanted the TFC but the price was crazy compared to the mass production model. Crazy thing is after trading my 2020 in for the 2022 Black edition I ended up paying around the same amount I would have paid for the TFC. I had to get it because it was the only one in Southern California.

Chase, as you know, I had a Rocket back in the day, a 2012 R3R, and it was amazing. I probably averaged one ticket a year on that thing, but i did ride it 10-12k a year though. Also, I was never sold on this new Rocket, it's looks too 'plasticky' (and electronic) to me, and I love the styling of the old one, HOWEVER, this Black version... I think I gotta get me one now, so thanks a lot bruv!

Hey I was just wondering if you were going to continue the venom x22 series of videos that you did a while back maybe you can switch out the sprocket or do a update on how the bike held up I recently bought a venom and I'm loving it. it's my first bike it really helped me learn how to ride I love the whole lifestyle of riding on two wheels now I'm confident I can ride a bigger bike thanks to the x22 it is totally worth the 1900 bucks keep up the good work I enjoy your videos take it easy

I did a test ride on a rocket 3 R. After ridding the Harley street glide which I ride daily, the rocket feels like a dream machine... 700 lbs wet for the rocket with 800 plus, close to 900, for the glide... makes the rocket feel like a toy. unbelievable ride. Mind blown as well. Corbin makes a nice bat-nose fairing for the rocket. Bags aren't really needed on a bike that does 100 miles per tank more or less. thinking a rack and small pack to carry essentials, ice tea, wallet, registration .... stuff like that....

By the time you start adding fairings and stuff, you might as well just keep riding the Harley. The Rocket is great the way it is. I added the tire pressure monitoring system, tank knee pads, swapped the seat out for the solo seat, added on the clutch less gear changing, and added on the small windscreen that the GT has standard. I also switched to the handlebars from the GT so they come back a bit more (I’m only 5’3”). I also plan on changing out the battery to a lithium ion. This bike is a true game changer. It’s a beast!!! It’s also faster than the 929 I used to have.
