Are you a believer? I think the actual characters started with David but I question the characters preceding him. When you really dig into the history you learn Judaism evolved out of the earlier Canaanite religion. The original Israelites were indigenous Canaanites. El was the chief deity with Asherah as his wife, Baal and Anat his son and daughter. Then you find God called Elyon and El Shaddai in the OT.

Thanks for your doc's, Pete. So many just anybody's throw stuff together & slap it on here under the guise of a documentary. But the graphics are cheesey, holding a pic/scene for so long to fill screen time.. with an epically bland or annoying voice. These quality doc's are easy to absorb, & shows history is fascinating, interesting, & imagination capturing. 💫❤ Neat-o! Thanks again!

Correction : Josephus in his book available in English thanks to Penguin Classic books (The Jewish War) says the Romans started the fire when their officers in the heat of battle, lost full control of their men. That I suggest has a ring of truth. He wrote, Titus had ordered the Temple untouched. Then as now, Jewish people who have always seen themselves as two main groups, Jews and Israelites, regularly pray "next year in Jerusalem". The Jewish Israeli connection with Jerusalem and the lands of Israel & Judean remain profound. This is something many Muslims unfortunately fail to understand.
