For the "XXXXXXX" car, there is actually an online feature in the game where certain profiles can be marked to be given items/cars; it was used for transfering over GT Academy 2012 cars and that one, but the criterias for receiving it are still unclear.

Out of topic, but I used to have a weird glitch where every time I booted up the game I always received a set of stealth cars from the signature edition. It cannot be deleted, sold, or gifted. Thus it ended up piling in my garage with the total number of them that I remember from the last time I booted up was around 150ish cars! 😂

Proud to say I owned all the GTAcademy cars. Though I would miss out that year,the 2014 GTacademy I did make it through into the top 16 and went to silverstone for the semi finals. Speed was there in the car but my fitness let me down :/ Shame, if I’d been more in shape maybe I’d be on a real track somewhere right now lol.

The stealth racing cars from the used dealership that appeared every 700 days were quite rare back then.

Oh man the GT Academy cars give me so many memories. You made me go back to the forums I used to hover around back when GT5 was on his peak hahaha, there was a cool thread were people would post which people were trustworthy for car / paint trades. My memory is a bit foggy but I remember someone trading me that 370Z Tuned Car GTA '08 for one of my Falken Skylines :P

For the “XXXXXXX” model there was an online event where you had to do a time trial and they gave it to you. a limited time event. I still remember it was like that because I had it at the time. It is not a Mandela effect.

The Red Bull 5G was drivable beyond the specific event because there was a time trial at one of the Cape Ring variants that had many 5Gs in the top rankings and I drove it too because one of my friends had it shared. I think the rankings are still available on the my Gran Turismo website but I don't know if there are any videos of it.

Granturismo 6 had a frozen black bmw m4 which I got via updating to 1.07 then reverting the game to an older update. The model was called frozen black edition m4.

The GT Academy cars were only distributed in Aurora Flare Blue Pearl, so the other colors were inaccessible. Also, the X was supposed to appear in some updates prior to the Corvette C7 Test Prototype's distribution, where, by random, it would show up during the game's attract screens while idle in the main menu. However, the actual test prototype does appear in those screens instead, complete with the Corvette license plate.

Before the servers went down on GT5 a user was kind enough to gift me the non dlc cars in this video. I lost my old save so I lost the GT Academy cars. He even got me the 5G Redbulls etc. After he was done gifting me the cars he disappeared shortly after and I haven't heard from him since.

I'd love to see you do a collab with Roflwaffle. A video with my 2 favourite sultry voice possessing Brits talking about obscure cars is just perfect

Now playing GT5 on an emulator with the master mod, another cool thing about the X1 is that the canopy glass has X1 logos on the glass, It seemed planned to be released as such.

Cool vid! There are a couple other hidden "cars" that you didn't cover, though! The "Car Color Sample" and "Wheel Color Sample" that are used to show what colors will look like in GT Auto are actually usable cars. As far as I know, you can only get them through save editing, as they're not even purchasable in the Master Mod.

The corvette prototype was featured during some of the C7 corvette reveal video you can find on the KZread channel

1:25 I remember using this car a ton. There was actually a code that allowed you to get it for free without purchasing the shave gel. It could also be outfitted with side exhaust, whereas the normal Camaro couldn't.

Excellent video as always! The five cars with exclusive liveries that were exclusive to the collector versions of the game, the "Special Chrome Line editions", would also fit into this list, wouldn't they?

Very interesting that GT5 gave out a lot of the GT Academy cars and some exclusive Red Bull cars. Wonder if a mod for GT5 could implement these secret cars or maybe rein some of the contest that gifted them. That way it motivates me to play the game.

Another rare car was the XJ13 Chrome Line, could only get it from a special pack in Japan, or by doing a promotional minigame on some European site, which was defunct after only a few months. Unlike the other chromeline and stealth models which could be obtained from the signature/collectors editions, this was the only way to obtain it in GT5.

my god this was painful to watch… It unlocked so many memories from back in the day, but I lost everything in 2021 when my PS3 crashed while playing Call Of Duty Black Ops 2. All saved data from every game was erased… I remember I had the FT-86 II Concept in black… I had the special SPL 125 racing kart. I also had some of the GT Academy cars… which I’m never going to get back, ever again… 🫣 pain.

I did own most of the GT academy cars in my old GT5. I am mostly a car collector in the game and loved to pick unique vehicles

8:10 From what i remember like 10 years ago, you could actually get that Tuned GT-R edition if you got gold at the final seasonal events back in 2014 (the two time trials set at TGTT and Nürburgring). Unfortunately, i don't have a concrete proof for that online so it could just be my hazy memories.

GT Academy aced it. Amazing memories from the European finals 2012!

I always referred to the X2010 cars as the X1.

One of the hardest cars to get that's both still obtainable and not exclusively a prize car would have to be the Formula GT. Now that the online atuff has been shut down the only way to obtain it without getting super lucky through tickets, is to refresh the used car shopnover and over for hours until you can buy it for 2 mil. To beat GT5 requires one, and so I ahd to refresh for roughly 8-10 hours to get it after grinding to the 2 million credits.

Nice, but please make a 50 Facts video for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. I recently played the PS1 version of it.

As somebody who uses the same mod to get access to permanently inaccessible cars in this game, I do need to warn you that there is a glitch associated with the Joey Logano GT Livery GameStop car as, for whatever reason, it is the only "DLC" car that the game will let you use but will disable upon the next time the game is started up so you have to re-enable this vehicle every time you want to use. Also, it is very weird that you can use the JP Flag Red Bull car in the EU release as enabling it in the US version of the game (both the standard base release and the XL Edition) will award the car but viewing it in your garage or using it for a race has no model for the game to reference in the code which soft locks GT5 forcing you to shut off the PS3... and have a lengthy corruption check upon turning the console on again. Edit: I'm assuming since GT5 and GT6 were patched by region (JP and Asia, EU, NA) I'm gonna guess that it was included in a patch for comparability purposes in the JP and EU releases but, by the time we got the compatibility patch, the model was probably not included or removed due to the decision to not release the DLC.
