Dominick Wade I can get to an A-flat over the staff in practice but never in the context of a song... in my opinion I cannot make an aperture small enough to blow a C over the staff even if I blow Softly...I even had to temporarily start playing the saxophone because I was frustrated not being able to play songs I want because my range is not high enough or easy enough to get to, I’ve tried many different strategies to get there but maybe a different trumpet that’s more open would be easier for a higher range? I don’t know that answer.

That’s because no one today takes the time to listen and enjoy live and well performed music. They just care if it has a beat. My state symphony gives free tickets to students for their classical concerts. I attend as many as I can and ask many of my friends if they would like to come. Yet I typically end up going by myself. The sad reality of people and music today.

Don't worry about high notes. Make the lower registers super strong and slowly add a note each few weeks. Keep that throat open, long set tones and learn pedal tones to get that throat and belly working together. Doc can do a 10 minute plank and he's in his 80 s. And believe me, he can still easily play this. Get your abs in shape. Maynard swam a mile every time he could.
I am Dutch, 62 years old and since I was 8 a huge fan of Ennio Morricone and western music and Spaghetti western music in general. The whistling themes, the trumpets, the electric guitars, the female soprano, all magnificent. And you sir, I thought hardly anyone could play those trumpet solos so well. You proved me wrong. You could have been in his orchestra in no time. Awesome.
Every other instrument: it only has 3 buttons how hard could it be?? The 15 different notes that can be played w/ one fingering:

french horn is so much more difficult than trumpet (I play both) legit one fingering plays every note on french horn if you pitch well, it's just the different fingerings make the tone nicer, then you have the F side and Bb side, which produces different sounds within itself .
Dynamics and vibrato on point... you’re a genius

Without sounding like 'that guy,' Louis is able to play like that precisely for the reason that he isn't blasting. He's learned the best way to focus his airstream into a controlled, well-supported sound that isn't overblown, and as a result of that efficiency in his playing which most of us lack, he can project across a football field almost effortlessly and for great periods of time.
That was amazing, and thank you for putting the notes along the bottom; even as a trumpet player I've always found it hard to tell how high or low notes are through video as I don't listen to recordings of myself, this really helped put that into perspective for me. Fantastic work, it sounded beautiful and I enjoyed it very much :D

Thank you for doing this recording. The studio players deserve serious respect, and you've honored that.
Did I ask for this? No. Am I glad that I got it? Yes.
No screaming or blasting. He just played solid rhythms. 🔥🎺
What a rich tone with all the "personality" that this passionate style seems to ask of a player. Nicely NICELY done ! ! ! . . . It makes me want to spend a Netflix evening or two with these great films, just for the Morricone score and orchestrations.
I don't think I've ever heard this song, but it's straight up boss battle fire!

that is amazing, in all ranges, and that vibrato, perfect.
I played trumpet through out high school and college. I heard you play this and instantly I had boots with spurs on.(I have no idea where they came from). I went to the attic and pulled out my noble steed Bach Stradivarius. I went out to my back yard at high noon. Click...Click...Click.. I placed my lips to the mouthpiece, took a deep breath in... What the Hell was that??? As best as I can explain it was between a elephant, a donkey, and a dolphin. With defeat in my heavy heart, I simply handed her my trumpet as I walked by. She gave me these words of support," And you had to play the damn thing in our backyard!"
Such swagger to your playing bro, keep doing all of us trumpet players proud :)

Speechless! Such a beautiful sound tone...
Guys the key to play high notes is the way you put the mouth and the way you blow, not pressure or to blow so much. It is “””easy””” to play the third C of the trumpet. Before I knew I could not even achieve a second A
Louis, after hearing Michele Lacerenza many, many times and listening to yours, I'd say you get it very well. This must be a joy to play, and I envy you both. I started as a trumpet player but had to switch to strings due to my folks not having the cash for the surgery I needed to correct my overbite. I still think in trumpet to this day but haven't touched one in many years. I still consider the trumpet to be the most physically demanding instrument and the most beautiful tonally. Great job here!
