I'm not completely sure, I think it had to do also with the fact that they allowed the wild cards to be used with the tower troops, and as they released the most broken tower troop they had to force the community to spend some serious money with their awful offers for 50 bucks or so...

Lucky Drops are 10/10 Dagger Duchess needs a major nerf The scene of Clash Royale is actually getting better, shockingly enough. I'm excited for the future, and hoping that evolutions will be easier to get in the future

all tower troops need to be more like the princess so there is less RPS... and they should always be slightly weaker or less viable. Princess should always be the most used. Also, while for now it is getting better this is just like the "1 step forward, 2 steps back" situation. Level 15, evolutions, double evolutions, tower troops, LP, and all we've gotten back is some daily rewards and nerfs to evolutions without actually making them more accessible.

The problem isnt really Supercell themselves, but more so Tencent. The difference between games like Clash Royale vs Brawl Stars and Clash of Clans is that Tencent OWNS 80% OF THE GAME! They say what gets added every time basically. Compared to the around 50% of Clash of Clans and like 40% of Brawl Stars, that is terrible. If you don’t know Tencent, it is a Chinese company which has bought out many other great games and ruined them for money purposes.

I didn't know that. but i do know who tencent are. tencent is really a bloody company who suck all the money they can from a gamers. i was playing this game call thunder raid and do spent some money, but then...... they just discontinued the game just like that. if that the cases, then CR will meet the same faith sooner or later

8:38 as someone who abandoned ship and quit CR when the phoenix dropped, I *STILL* think it needs another nerf simply because it invalidates mega minion and buffing mega minion too much would be problematic

Honestly I can't even bother to play 3 games a day anymore. Game is so repetitive. I got a book of books from a lucky drop and felt nothing. Even after playing a new deck every season didn't make the game any more fun. It's a rage inducing and bland experience every game, and tapping a card and tapping the map just isn't enjoyable anymore

Love the daily lucky drop, I've gotten two 50,000 elite wild cars twice as well as books and shards. The 1,500 gold is annoying, but I'll take the wins when they come.

Lucky drops are cool, but they nerfed the drop rates before launch after having all the creators advertise incredible loot, making people believe that you would get much better loot. Not only that, but wild cards were removed from the shop due to them.

little prince has an extremly easy fix. Make him 4/5 elixir and reduce the ability to summon a guardian to 2/1. It's still 6 elixir for the package but there's not world where a 3 elixir champion isn't broken because it's in fast cycle range and ALSO gives you a 3 card cycle.

At this point making him die to fireball or 4 elixir is the only fix I see

5:20 Buying an evolution is definitely not necessary. If you just play actively, get a bit of luck with the lucky drops, and most importantly, manage your evolution shards correctly, unlocking new ones isn‘t really an issue. Like I am 100% f2p, and I have 5 evolutions unlocked with six evolution shards just in the bank for upcoming evolutions that fit into my deck

I agree you don't have to buy "evos", but unlike new cards (where you unlock a card and can focus on it with wildcards etc) new mechanics, abilities, and balances outpace your ability to acquire them. It's fine if you have 4 cards you like to play with. But deck crafting will be much more limited long term. Free players are actually impacted more by balance changes, because they don't have pivot room. Mechanics and progression can go hand in hand. I actually like the idea that we can unlock new mechanics every month. Just increase the number of evo shards people get from season shops. Like have two evos to choose from and have 2 wild shards (8 total if your on the grind). That would give most players an Evo total of shards a month.

Returning players need some love. Literally none of my friends or family will play after explaining how to get evos. Being level 10-12 with out an Evo feels unplayable now. I think giving return players a day 7 reward of 1-3 free Evo wild shards would dramatically increase retention. Because then getting one Evo wouldn't be four months of pain.

Currently, I started playing clash Royale again in the last 2 months. I started to grind to get level 15 cards, and I finally got my first level 15 card. At that rate, it's going to take me a year and 6 months to fully a level up my deck

I wish evolutions had some kind of downside like making the card weaker when it wasn’t evolved so it wasn’t such a no-brainer just to slap them in every deck you can.

As someone who has gotten 3 Book of Books from Lucky Drops 2 months into playing the game I can speak from experience when i say they are a great addition to the game.

Okay but that’s just YOUR personal experience that doesn’t mean everyone else is going to get that lucky overall for everyone else we aren’t lucky enough to consistently get good drops which is why we think it sucks

7:30 Magic Cards developed the same rock-paper-scissors problem with all the power creep and hyper-utility of cards they introduced. It used to feel like more of a skill game and less of impossible matchups and decks playing themselves.

Lucky drops are amazing, but i do not have fun getting them if i have to play minimum 3 games against dagger duchess

With 100.000 good to get a card to lvl14, and the typical 8h chest giving you around 1,500, that means that yes gold still is a problem, only not that serious. I mean the chests from the pass give you around 4000 gold, and there are gold chests and other chests, but I find that people who missed the 1 million gold giveaway still need more gold badly.

Maybe they’re nerfing all evolutions to remove significant interaction difference in order to justify adding more evolution slots

as a kid who rarely gets money to spend on games, its so sad seeing how p2w its become. Also all they care about is frickin brawl stars

My main problem is tower troops

*its actually 3 times the size to get from level 14 to 15 than from level 1 to 14

I look at Clash Royale as if it were MySpace, for those that remember that social media platform. It was big when it first came out, then the original developers sold it and left, and the people who took over ran it into the ground. Clash Royale doesn't have any of the original developers. Even all the original OG KZreadrs like nickatnyte, molt, clash with cam, clash on gan, galadon, chief pat, clash with ash, etc have all left. In fact, the only KZreadrs I still watch is orange juice but it's more for his entertainment rather than the content. Besides him, I watch Bored Newb Gaming. I used to watch sirtag. His content is still good but I just don't feel enthused by the game any more. The game is dying. We are living in the era of MySpace after Tom sold it and only weirdos used it.

Nah wild cards in the shop need to return, it’s really greedy/pretty to take that away just because the gave us the “lucky” drop

He was complaining about tower troop and how they’re broken. I disagree because how is that unfair when everyone can unlock tower troops. And they are easy to level up. I saved up about 30 legendary wild cards on my f2p account and I made it level 13 after a couple of days of the duchess release. And evos aren’t that bad. Supercell gave away a free evolution to a lot of players. And you can get shards from the season shop and from the lucky drop. I have 6 evos on my f2p account

I reinstalled the game months ago, last time I played evolutions weren’t a thing and level 13 was the max, I’ve been playing for months like I said and I’ve barely been able to save up for ONE evolution after months of being F2P

My least favorite thing about evos is just how hard the newest ones are to get. Currently, the most recent evo you can get at a viable price is evo valk because of the season token shop. I fear it'll be worse when it gets to the february evos and march evos. 2 evos per season, and currently only 1 in season shop. I would like to get evo tesla, but it'll take a few more months.

Tbh, i havent seen a huge problem, ive been f2p for about half a year now, and have my whole main deck lvl 14, almost 15, and have 2 evolutions, i only play for 30 minutes a day, plus maybe 15 more to make a video, but i do see the issue for people wothout as much time on their hands

I’m a ftp and I’ve just straight up quit the game, because of the dagger duchess making my main deck unplayable. Thank you supercell.

I was an above average player in clash Royale but I never spent a dime. I’ve played for a few years working on maxing out one deck I’ve always loved. Then never single game I felt like I ran in to someone who had the newest evolution and all elite cards and tower, so I play it less every day and now I’m getting in to brawl stars because it is fun way less pay to win and it doesn’t feel like a task when I play it

I think evolutions where a very good addition better than new cards because it will be way easier to max ur acc w less cards but they need to make evolutions way easier to get not just giving some out for free a way more reliable way not just getting 1 wild shard a season

I’ve got a max lv 15 deck as a free to play player the grind is long but not as long as lv 1-14 is

I now run a deck of cards I barely play that is specifically built to hard counter duchess and Im constantly winning. Thats how much of a problem she is

I love Clash Royale. I’ve been playing it off and on since its launch, and it’s honestly a super fun game! But lately, I haven’t even wanted to touch the game. The state that it is in right now is genuinely depressing. Most matches I’m going up against people who have cards that are sometimes 5 levels higher than mine(usually 2 or 3), even when I have level 10 cards in arena 11. Having to pay for evolutions or suffer with unlocking them once every 6 months is abysmal. Clans wars 2 is a really poor system, the season shop is terrible now that wild cards are gone, the offers supercell put out get increasingly greedy. The game is going down such a bad path, which is sad. I don’t even want to play anything other than a challenge every now and then to get some season tokens

Can we please notice how the recent updates have been poorly delivered? Like, there were a new card, a new type of card (tower troops), and lucky drops. All of these updates were poorly advertised, and this does not help. The last big "hype" moment was level 15, nearly a year ago.

It's so sad that developers nowadays don't make games to make people happy but to make themselves happy. It's the same problem with everything. Music producers mass producing music that has no soul and no depth to it just bc they're money hungry. Authors shamelessly copying the hunger games storyline a million times to bring up their revenue. Content creators pumping out brainrot shorts just to get views from toddlers not knowing what they're doing. Art forms are losing their importance, and that is really sad to watch and experience as someone who really cares about it.

While I respect the opinions you made in this video, I feel like you exaggerate a lot of stuff for it to be your “honest opinion.” You said that the Little Prince was a “bad concept” which I don’t understand since he has a unique attack and ability. He was just released overpowered, and that doesn’t make him a bad concept. You also kind of contradict yourself in this video. You say it seems like Supercell is giving up on Clash Royale, but you acknowledge Evolutions and Tower Troops. Those recent additions, while being unbalanced, are very unique. How could Supercell be giving up on Clash Royale if they’re still doing monthly seasons with new evolutions, releasing new unique content (Tower Troops and Evos), and showing at least some acknowledgment of the community (Generous events like the Evo RG one coming soon, Lucky Drops, the recent balance changes). I understand and agree with some of the points you made in this video, especially about Tower Troops and Evolutions making the game too matchup dependent, but I feel like it’s not as bad as you make it sound.

Thats the point. Everyone has their respective decks that they already mastered for years, and for it to just completely get shut down because somebody uses a specific tower troops is kinda dumb

I opened everyday lucky drop by the update day I didn't get anything higher than rare maybe epic one time IT IS A SCAM design in random progress is awful and they dare to nerf something for my god

The game is so pay to win it's losing it's f2p player base and for that same reason it's losing priority for supercell because it doesn't have the same player count it used to.

I used to play clash royal everyday because I have like 5 minutes before my class starts but now it feels like a chore to play nowadays I only play if my friends want to play which is rarely or when I what the emote on path of legends ladder is not fun path of legends is not fun non of the game mode are fun I have been putting more of my attention in to brawls stars which in my opinion is a better game the clash royal because they get frequent updates with brawlers and balances changes the game modes are simple but fun, the game is engaging and the rank mode is easy to understand and rewarding in all even tho brawl stars is a completely different game the fundamentals of brawl stars is just better in every way compared to clash royal

If you have to spend money to win you are not a good clash Royale player. As a F2P player who has matched up against lv13 little prince in arena 11 I am so sick of people being able to beat their opponents with their wallet.

Im not gonna lie, ur point about supercell giving up is completely untrue. Think about the amount of content we have got since last summer till now. Relative to other supercell games it may not be that much, but compared to what we were given on a yearly basis from 2020-2023 its been looking so much better.

Are you a supercell rep? We have gotten a new tower troop and some evos. Every single one has been completely overpowered or absolutely useless. The game has been a balancing mess. Other supercell games would never stay out of balance like this for extended periods of time, (except an occasional new Brawl Stars brawler) Less time and care is spent here and it is pretty obvious.

Yeah but you would really rather go back go how stuff was in 2021 or 2023? When we got nothing for exended periods of time. Now we can expect at least one evolution a month, last 4 months have had an evolution + something else. The updates are super consistant rn idk if balence is crap at least theres stuff to do
