I do like how the audience initially were like ' what is this guy doing' then the penny dropped and the effects impressions kicked off and they were just eating out of his hands thereafter, guy forever will be a legend :D

I'm always amazed at all the careers that started here! Mike Winslow, Boxcar Willie, Bob Zany...This is far more interesting than Idol.

AS SILY AS IT SEEMS THIS WAS A GOOD SHOW BACK THEN I USED TO WATCH IT WITH MY GRANDMA MOSTLY. THE UNKNOWN COMIC. A GUY WITH A BROWN LUNCH BAG OVER HIS HEAD. HE STANK!!

I was on the Gong Show around 1977 or 78. I came in 2nd and won a pair of sunglasses. No stardom for me.

i was expecting a bit more with the purple haze bit, so i was a little disappointed. also, per previous comments, just b/c he got (3) 10s doesn't mean he won the show. there were several episodes where tie breakers were needed. thank you to RBArchives for posting this!
