Yes. Pre-production was done in 1975, shot in 1976-1977. Post production in 1978, released in 79, so made within the next five years after 1971.

Three of my favourite scenes of his were 1 : “Scent of a woman” dancing and really looking as if he was blind! 2: “The Godfather part III” on the Opera house steps cradling his murdered daughter, that “silent scream”. 3: “The merchant of Venice” as Shylock. Fantastic. Best actor on screen imo.

So good to see this group of great actors. I love Al Pacino in all three Godfathers. He was really ‘Michael’ and I can’t see anyone else in that role!

Talia's performance in this trilogy truly gets overlooked. She starts off as a battered wife. She turns to s bad mother, traveling the work with lovers and leaving her kids behind with family. Ending with her asking her brother to come home, taking care of him, and even advising him with an iron fist, being as ruthless as any man. Her acting was amazing, and her portrayal of the different phases was believable and honest.

Tom Hagen was my favorite in the movie...he almost always had the answers, and he knew the Don’s business better than anyone else, also having the foresight to tell what would result from each action they discussed taking. Al seems like a really nice guy. Brando was 47 during filming.

I passed him on Lexington Ave in 1977. He was wearing a green jacket that looked like an Army-Navy store purchase. He was alone, head down, eyes on the sidewalk. I barely turned my head left to view him. I stopped in my tracks! There he was! My beloved Serpico! Wishes do come true!

Pacino’s by far the most intelligent, subtle, polished and articulate guy. DeNiro has a great nature in that he’s actually the wealthiest and most successful guy here in wider business endeavors, but has no need to dominate the others or to show off. John Cazale RIP.

ALL of these actors were wonderful in the God Father movies. They are all Legends. Robert DeNero was so excellent as the young Vido.Al Pacino as Michael, & Robert Devaul as Tom, James Cann as Sonny, Talia Shire as Connie. All together made it as probably the best & favorite movies of so many people world wide... thank you all.

My late uncle was a cameraman on the first film. He told me that him and the rest of the crew thought the film was going to be awful. He really didn't understand how great it was going to be or visualize the final product until they saw the final edit (the editing is amazing btw).

Incredible I was one of the audience that got to see this amazing story with iconic actors. I’ve become rich with their artistic genius and by being entertained by actors that took me into their masterful portrayals and made me forget they were actors. The Godfather is a story for the ages.

Talia has nothing to apologize for in this movie. She was brilliant, and her acting is one of the best supporting roles of all time. You can just close your eyes and see how great she was. Totally under rated.

Its kind of sad that we will miss them soon and many other great actors and actresses. Wow. What a legacy they build. New actors and upcoming has to learn. New ones has the advantage of social media. But cant repeat the history those legendary actors and actresses made. (And directors too)

Possibly the greatest actors of our time all in one place. All my acting heroes, Talia included. You can feel the love and respect for each other and the dearly departed Marlon and John in the room.

20th?? I’ve easily watched The Godfather a thousand times. With no regrets.

Al Pacino has a nice head of hair, he’s aged so well. Robert Deniro is still so attractive, humble man . All these actors are genuinely brilliant. Love them all!

What bunch of legends!! Pacino and De Niro get most of the accolades but I loved James Caan and Robert Duvall in all their movies. Great actors!!!

I loved this, wow! And Robert Duvall believed in it all along when everyone else was doubting, great guy!

"The Godfather," was one of if not THE greatest movie I've ever seen. The movie inspired me to buy/read the book. That was 4-5 times that I read it. It motivated me to watch the movie I don't know how many times!

Yes he did. He played Sonny perfect performance, if you read the book, James Cann played Sonny just like Sonny was in the book. He is a great actor, & he seems like such a nice guy. Funny too. All the very best to you Mr. Cann. PS - I loved your show Vegas.

In my opinion James Cann with the Sonny role was stealing the movie and then they had him killed. Caan played the perfect hot headed Sicilian. I was heartbroken watching the movie in a packed house at a Lowe's theater back in 1972, I was 11 years old. As much as I still love the Godfather it pains me to watch that scene. Sonny being the Godfather would have been Michael on steroids.

@@62rockin I feel you but truthfully sonny wasn’t smart enough to run the family. He definitely was tough enough and had the mental fortitude but he was too hot headed. He would have struggled in the political landscape. Him and Michael as a pairing would have been elite! If they were able to coexistent. Michael as the brains and face and sonny as the enforcer and street general. But i think the it was written so well for sonny to die.

Al has been considered one of the best actors ever SINCE the first godfather and he still looks to James Caan for approval :)

De Niro and Pacino were so handsome on that film. And James's role as Sonny was spectacular to the end.

Pacino and De Niro two of the greatest actors of all time.

I like what Al Pacino said about how you could watch the 2nd movie first and still get a full blown timeline of the story if you then watch Godfather 1

Pacino and DeNiro are legends...and deservedly so, but I think Robert Duvall is one of the greatest actors of his generation. He comes across a bit more subtle than others but few can match the diverse roles he has played....and mastered: Tender Mercies, The Great Santini, MASH, Apocalypse Now, Lonesome Dove, Second Hand Lions....the list goes on and on.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are my two all time favorite actors. They both have made incredible films over the years. De Niro is rather shy on late night television shows, but Pacino is really very funny. Both are entertaining and I love seeing them together.

I used to love De Niro until he started commenting on politics - namely Trump administration. No matter if you like or dislike a sitting president, it shows no class to get up in front of a large audience and say FU. No class at all.

Great actors, all, no matter what film you see them in, they give the best performances. It’s sad that we’re starting to lose these folks as time marches on but they do leave behind a tremendous legacy of films that made going to the movies very special. RIP James Caan

You got to love an elderly gentleman who wears his hair like the great Al Pacino. Due the film's this lot has done is extraordinary.

Thank you to Robert Deniro for bringing this most wonderful generation of actors and the cast back together. It’s hard watching this in 2023, after we’ve just lost Jimmy Caan. This is bittersweet to witness but I’m so glad this exists. ❤💔🎞👌🏻
