Trust me, It’ll be a bit longer for them (moms) to take to these. EV’s are obviously very unconventional so new fangled hi-tech, heavy gear like this, with inherited range anxiety, will take some getting used to. Besides, they may not admit it, but they enjoy the sounds & feel of the V8 rumble of Denalis, RR Sports, Jeep GC’s, AMG GWagons...at least the affluent ones do 😆

Exactly what I said! 5:36 *Doug said exactly this about the hummer H2 as being a major flaw. He pointed out every singe logo he found as a joke.* Now many hummer logos helps the manufacturer? He can still fix this problem. *Now is as good a time as any to review the 2008 - 2009 hummer H2 luxury. It is the best model before the discontinuation that features upgrades to many of the complaints you made in his hummer H2 review.*

@@ThisaraGamalath - I know MORE than you will EVER know. the GMC Hummer EV was FACKED by CGI. this MOCKUP is unpowered and a PUSHER . it needs to be PLUGGED into 120v AC . its MISSING the Battery.

My assumption is that GM is simply trying to make a “Halo” electric vehicle to drum up excitement for their other models. It is amazing and definitely a worth competitor for Tesla, Rivian....but it is likely the most ridiculous example of over=engineered off-road capability . The idea that someone would take this $100,000+ monstrosity off-roading on some remote, wooded trails is insane. They could be used on the beach or perhaps for a romp in the desert, but let us face it, this will be found shuttling celebrities and rich “environmentalists” more than off-road enthusiasts.

I get that the moon picture could mean “new frontiers”... but I think they referenced the moon in various places because of the trucks capabilities, inferring that it could be driven on the moon.... 🌚 🌝

Suggestion to GMC: The removable panels are very reminiscent of the old "T-top" roof. Considering the shape of these, you'd miss one hell of an opportunity if you didn't call it the "H-top" roof. You're welcome. (I'll expect royalty checks, of course.)

it annoys me how many "influencers" got invited to look at this car. They repeated the marketing material almost verbatim. Was frustrating. Thanks for being you Doug.

As a typical European I dont like trucks and hummers but i have to admit this is a really successful design. We can easily recognize a hummer while looking at it without looking at all those logos, they made an exellent job at translating the old visual identity elements into a modern style, the front grill transformed into led with the same pattern, the sculpting of the wings fits just right, amazing job at designing such a huge volume. really good job impressing jump from the american brand in term of design investment. Very pleasent idea for the future 👍

@@JD-yx7be Different strokes for Different folks, I am not sure about the towing, as the Hummer EV prototypes have Class 5 2.5" receivers, so I assume they will have solid tow ratings. Cybertruck however is not very attractive, has massive blind spots, sits too low, and has funky back seat configuration. Hopefully the Cybertruck that makes production looks better is more ergonomic, and has more features, because Tesla is so far behind in all of their cars features, including Autopilot which Consumer Reports say is a distant 2nd place to GM SuperCruise.

My brain is having a hard time computing the words “ Hummer” and “Electric vehicle” being in the same sentence.

Now, the Corvette is targeting italian supercars with a much lower price. The Hummer is a pioneer and started a new type of vehicles with an incredible attention to details. My point is they used to follow others but now others will follow them

Two totally different animals. Rock climber vs a Baja truck. Besides, so far as I know, the Hummer can't jump. We also don't know what the Hummer is like on smooth tarmac, where despite its utility, will spend 95% of its time.

This truck is so capable I'll be incapable of buying it. 😔

I only wish it was a hybrid instead of fully electric. Maybe 80 mile electric range, with a turbo 6 cylinder. That would have been more versatile for long range trips far from a charger.

not really cybertruck has a unique look that the youth are going to keep that thing out of stock or keep people on a waiting list to get ... while this new hummer kinda looks old and outdated pretty bland to me ,, the old chevy & cadillac suv w truck bed style that this hummer is replicating doesn't even look as good as those chevy/cadillac's

Once the people in LA are done showing off, the glamour is gone, and depreciation kicks in, that's when the off road people can get their hands on them and won't feel the financial guilt of beating the hell out of a $100K vehicle.

Yes it’s a shame most people who buy these type of vehicles new never use them as intended. Same thing goes for sportbikes and sport cars. Bring your new toy to a trackday or go wheeling. You owe it to yourself, you’ll have a great time and you’ll meet the friendliest people there.

There are no chargers off road and knock 50ml+ off the range when you use the air conditioning and the range drops when it's cold. Driving over rocks uses a lot of power. It's a poser truck until they get a battery with at least twice the range.

This makes the h2 look like a joke, even more than it already was.

I love the attention to detail, the little easter eggs, and the fact they ran with the moon theme based on the fact gm had created a moon rover in the past. Even the screens have that moon theme background the cluster has a spaceship feel with the advanced looking gauge, that launch control sounds crazy fun just for its over dramatic set up 😂 reliability is a different story, im talking solely on the aesthetics and detail

Our company just got the go ahead to make some of the underbody assemblies on this truck (BT1XX). Should see them on the road by spring of next year. Didn’t know about it just worked on processing some components.

this is great, hopefully the aftermarket makes a bed cover like the humvee’s angled back or wagon back
