Wow! Good honest truth to let these parents know. I am a fully certified USA teacher but others are not qualified in the least.

Thank you! I think parents should know the difference between a teacher, tutor and a chat friend. They are all very different. As a teacher wouldn't you agree? I'm not a teacher and don't pretend to be because you have FAR different training and skillsets than I do. My role is a paraprofessional. Isn't that right or no? I'd love to know you're thoughts!

As a certified private tutor, I completely relate to your experience. 👌🌿 I’ve had a bad experience with these platforms too. It’s clear they’re shady. They advertise free trials but end up charging students. Canceling subscriptions is a hassle. It’s all about making money 💵

Interesting! What does it mean to be a certified private tutor where you are from? Is there an accrediting organization or is it a company issuing "certificates" or is the government? From my experience--especially in adult ed nothing is really certified. The focus is 100% experience based. I'd love to know more about this concept since in the west it is practically not a thing. Good stuff!

You're right, a formal 'certified private tutor' designation isn't common in many places. I’m from Germany. My background is in teaching, which gave me a strong foundation in the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively as a private tutor.I do believe that the focus is 100% experience based. 😇☘️
