Oh yeah you gotta sell the game to the licenser--that's almost more important than delivering on your promises when you're making low budget licensed shovelware. 😅 The game design documents for those TV plug and play games where you got a novelty joystick loaded with 4 NES/SNES level minigames would easily run to 40+ pages with tons of mocked up "screenshots" etc...before the project even gets greenlit!

34:03 Clueless is an adaptation of Jane Austen's Emaa set in 1990s Beverly Hills. The main plot is Cher/Emma almost accidentally playing matchmaker to an older couple, so she decides she's pro at matchmaking and tries to hook up her "unhip" friend with a popular guy, but she is completely clueless what they both actually like and the whole story is about a rich popular girl with a good heart by no common sense. There were MANY adaptations of Emma, from one with Gwyneth Paltrow in 90s to modern day TV dramas, Clueless just stands out by actually being unique and probably the one good role Alicia Silverstone had outside of Aerosmith music videos.

Where do I even begin? This video was incredible! The suspense, editing, the mystery of it all, everything was satisfying (I hope you get to make a part 2 someday)! You really went from an internet detective, to a journalist, getting that primary source scoop! Well done! It's amazing how sometimes during a mystery, there can be clues in plain sight for so long that go unnoticed because you're taking an approach though a fixed perspective. Sure, it lead to a completely different game being discovered but it cleared up some confusion and chiselled away at a good chunk of the mystery in the process! I'm sure there are many more games that have had a similar fate, and I know there is a lot of lost media of other mediums too. It's up to archivists, people like you, to save them from eternal slumber (hopefully through ethical means, although in that Nintendo leak we got Luigi, which signified the ending of a 24 year old rumour (L is real 2401), beautifully). At the beginning of the video you asked if there was ever any media that the viewer may remember but cannot find online. My answer was not only a 'yes' but multiple 'yes's as this has happened many times. Whether it's something as simple as a UK TV series that was never released on physical media/kept in a vault somewhere with no option to watch it online at all, to something like a cartoon on Toonami that only broadcast in the UK and is undocumented online (I swear it was called 'Space Chicks' lol), I've given up on looking for a lot of lost media relevant to my interests over the decades. One of the more recent things I've wanted to know about is the Cardcaptors UK dub, as information about it gets messy really fast. Long story short, it was dubbed into English by Nelvana before it was edited, and Ocean had their own divisions(I think?) edit the show in Canada, Australia, the US and the UK. The former 3 are documented but the latter isn't. It would be awesome to find out what made the UK version different but also what the full unedited dub was like. Can you imagine? Anyways I'm rambling on a bit haha. I really enjoyed the video! (Shoutouts to *Tama Hero* who brought me here!)

When I was a teen in the late 90s and early 2000s, we recorded everything on VHS tape and audio tape. There were a ton of bootleg VHSs floating around of hard to find Japanese films, European horror films and obscure media. It was easy to copy VHSs if you found a bootleg and you could record directly from TV. There were bootlegs of recordings full of people dying on camera, things like Bum Fights, recordings of punk shows from across the country you’d never see otherwise, skate vids, super weird p0rb. We’d find VHS tapes at park and rides and have no issue watching it. There is so much lost and forgotten media on VHS tapes somewhere. I remember when the South Park episode where they said “shit” on cable a friend recorded it and we shared the VHS between our friends group. Wild.

I hoped that it would give people new information that would have otherwise been completely unobtainable and allow them to continue their search. I'm very pleased that it did! I heard a couple of years ago that the game had been found and that these Ray Mona videos existed. I like hearing about searches for lost media, but I resisted watching them because it wasn't a lost game for me, and the interest in it has been a rather surreal experience. Great video though, well done!

@@Aster_Risk Marion Stokes, rent her documentary, the most fascinating women who ever lived who looked out for Gen Z and perserved all media history from 1970s-2010 for them to see firsthand rather than let it be erased and mistold (news film was erased and taped over, all tv footage in the 60s-80s wasn't saved like it is now) she did this after living through a brutal oligarch dictatorship of heavy media censorship before fleeing to America, she feared America was heading in the same path so she went on a mission to record everything predicting the fake news outbreak, she was also a black woman of color who fought to have her voice and opinions heard over the white male majority and started her own network show in the 70s (like the View but better and less commercial) highlighting all viewpoints as they talk about political issues and news stories, and by all I mean the upmost diversity all with equal time to talk and respectful civil discussions that go to deep places and changes another viewpoint by making them consider the other side.

One such an obsession I had with a lost nostalgic piece of media was the version of Jungle Book I saw as a child. The art was just so different, very fascinating and artistic, for what I as a kid could judge. When we got our first computer, I was sure I'd find it online no problem. But I didn't. I couldn't believe only the Disney version and some poorer looking Asian version popped up, like the _only true version_ for me just didn't seem to exist. Years passed and the Jungle Book came to my mind once again. I started to think about the art style and how it reminded some animations I had seen from the old eastern block countries, such as the Mole (Krtek). I made a search with "Russion Jungle Book" and there it was: Adventures of Mowgli. As beautiful and exotic as I remembered.

Yup, this right here is my favourite movie of 2021! Seriously though, this scratches such a niche itch for me. I grew up on a lot of licensed DS and Wii games, and over the years was - and still am - really interested in fashion games like Style Boutique, so this documentary has me feeling so nostalgic for the games I played as a kid. I recently found a copy of one such game I played a ton as a kid called "Imagine: Happy Cooking", and the joy I felt having found it after losing my OG copy years ago? Unmatched lol. This documentary's format and style really captures the thrill and fun of watching detective and mystery stories, and I really enjoy how you narrated the story! I also really like how the documentary's visuals and music are like a fun, vibrant mesh of 80's-00's aesthetics and vibes! I wonder what other lost games in the "girl games" genre are floating around, waiting to be discovered... so many cool mysteries waiting to be solved! I'm really hyped to see more from your channel!
