    They didn't handle him well in the playoffs for sure, but looking at how his career has gone another injury seems to have been inevitable. Plus, when you look at the history of running QBs in the league, it isn't great outside of a few outliers. I think the best he could have been would be Micheal Vick level, which is no doubt fun to watch but Vick isn't even a hall of famer, much less one of the best all time.

    This was the game where Bob Stoops finally lost confidence in Brent Venables. He didn’t fire him, but he did bring in Mike Stoops to fix it all and Brent didn’t like it and bailed when he got the chance. Years later, Brent is considered probably the best DC in the country and his replacement at OU was a complete unmitigated disaster. But I still feel Bob made the right call, Brent needed to go because his defenses were progressively getting worse. Where Bob went wrong was not firing his brother, which should’ve happened after the Tayvon Austin game. Note to self: never hire your brother to work for you.

    Pretty sure Griffin wasn't touched a single time in any of these clips. Sure dude had elite quickness and could avoid contact, but the bigger reason for this is the lack of defense we see from Oklahoma every year and the entire Big 12 as a whole. Montee Ball shoulda won the Heisman that year. Dude scored the most TDs ever, while leading the nation in rushing and did it against real defenses.

    The Oklahoma frog stance has been mocked for a long time by people like me coaching at the high school level. How can you expect defensive lineman to make plays when they have to play like this. I’ve heard NFL scouts say that they have to basically throw away the film of dline prospects from Oklahoma because they weren’t allowed to make plays which causes a lot of projection and guesswork based on senior bowls and combine times.

    Bork19 frog stance?

  • @Bork19

    @Bork19

    4 жыл бұрын

    Dolphin Zone a typical stance for a defensive lineman your butt is higher which forces more weight on your hand so you explode forward. This will help you penetrate so you can make tackles in the backfield and get a good pass rush. If you look at Oklahoma defensive lineman their butts are lower which forces them to stand straight up so they don’t get a pass rush and can’t make plays in general. It’s clear Oklahoma tried to have their lineman change their stance for this game so they could get a pass rush on RG3 but they still fell in the habit of doing the frog stance.
