Watching a man being nostalgic and proud about his upbringing makes me proud of my own, as well. Even though I didn't design games, me and Philip shared a lot of similar experiences. It's a combination of enjoying his story and enjoying mine.

Because its good, and a time capsule. Its also very genuine, which is why philip has such a cult following. His content is the same now as it was in 2010, just higher quality and better voice over. Whereas every other youtuber is just a fake clown in comparison, shouting and laughing as much as possible. Its also extremely nostalgic.

On a daily basis I have regrets of not starting my journey into making games years ago. I discovered programming at the age of 30, i'm now 32, with low grades at school, not allowing me into any form of university, I struggle to find time and energy to motivate myself into the continuous learning of programming. I was told by my tutor at school that "I.T. would be too difficult for me" and I was pushed away from the subject. Over the past 2 years I have taught myself the basics of programming, my 12 times tables, basic physics (newtons integration) and basic algebra. I've discovered am adult learners course that will help me achieve higher courses and levels of learning. While my main goal right now is to work somewhere with computers and get me out of a warehouse, I still hope to one day make games and prove and help others that you are never too old :D

My childhood consisted of me writing levels for Spyro or Crash Bandicoot that hadn't been made *on paper*, and or would provide more content to the games because they were awesome. Afterwards I started making paper RPG's that I brought to school and got very popular with. I made a grand map where every side of the page was connected to a specific page and they were all identified with a unique ID. Damn Aspergers.

The 'few extra hours' argument has stuck with me ever since I watched this video a while back. I'm currently making games with the Godot Engine, but before I settled I wandered in pure C++ and DirectX, Unity, Unreal Engine, Constuct, Gamemaker... wasting my time and having nearly nothing to show for it. (though I did gain a nice programming foundation!) I went to a friend's house one time and interrupted a planned night working with Unreal... would those few extra hours have convinced me to make a full game with the Unreal Engine, or would it have clarified various confusing factors I had? Another thing I think about is how I even managed to stick with Godot... Where was my few extra hours? Did I slack off homework and things clicked, or did I simply stick with it enough that my perferences were shaped towards the Godot Engine? I may never know, but whatever I did it's worked for me. Thanks for making this series. I guess you could've been the catalyst for forcing me to stick with something... :D

xtkdmike In like my second year of high school I brought in a handful of elastic bands and managed to start an economy by giving them to random people. For a good month everyone was using them to catapult pens at eachother, and the real bigshots who'd managed to get loads of the things were building rubber band balls and throwing those at people instead.. In fact looking back there was a lot of shit I did that caused low level chaos across the entire school for extended periods of time.

(NOSTALGIA WARNING) (TL;DR WARNING) What you have said about stuff you have done on the Atari reminds me on my childhood so much. I grew up a bit later, in the Windows 9x (and later XP) era. I had an XP laptop back when I was 9 and remember when I discovered I can save Word documents as a HTML file and open them in Internet Explorer. I was so fucking excited, mostly because I had no internet back then. It was not long until I had an idea to make a fake "internet" ;) After some time I actually finished it, it had about 50 sites containing text, fake "options" made with OCX formants (how the fuck did I find these?), stuff collected from CDs from computer magazines and even flash games I copied on my flash drive at my friend's. Then I discovered the HTA extension. A .HTA file is basically a HTML file, but you can run as an application, without seeing the browser's UI. (there's actually Internet Explorer under this, but shhh). I was even more amazed, as I could make proper programs! (at least it looked like it). Then I discovered WinRAR's SFX archives. Now this is basically a ZIP/RAR archive, but as an .exe file that self-extracts itself. That was even fucking greater, because there were all sorts of amazing shit in the options: changing the icon, silent mode (no UI, instant extraction after you run the .exe) and running a file from the archive after extraction. Great! I could take the HTA file, all images associated with it, make a nice icon in Paint and pack it all in one neat EXE file. I was so fucking excited :) The programs, the "internet", the fake options and buttons, the fake "antivirus" that always said "computer cleaned" no matter what, all this stuff was pointless, but it was so much fun to do it, to see it actually works and realise it's all your own work. Now I look at all the shit I made back then, and one thing amazes me: how the fuck did I discover all that shit without googling a single thing? I guess the conclusion is that the Internet kills creativity.

Thanks Phillip, you got me back into making video games, whilst they might be pretty bad, at least I am having fun making them. Every time I watch one of your videos I always feel like I connect with you in some way, like the video where you talked about the simpler things on life. You have made my life a lot better and without you I would be bored and depressed, thank you.

After months of searching through files, videos and multiple Wiki pages I think I have finally found where your name came from, not that it's important and you probably told your views somewhere but here goes nothing: KLICK&PLAY So there it is. The strongest evidence I could find. Who knows where the 2&3 came from but I am positively sure that the KLICK in KLICK&PLAY inspired you to use it in your user name (Since you did love the thing). Philip being your name, or maybe it isn't and you have tricked us all? Anyway Philip being your name is the Philip part of your KZread name making klicksphilip, 2klicksphilip and the channel we all love the most 3klicksphilip. Once again I have found myself leaving drastically large comments on your channel. Well what am I suppose to do in my spare time? We i'm sure there's a reason somewhere, I just cant find it. Scrap-E I don't think its a WoW reference?

I keep on rewatching this video, Makes me a bit nostalgic, Started making some paper games, and I got popular with them in school. Then started making a game in game maker 2.5, a top down shooter, barely made a working level, got disinterested in it. A few months later, saw this vid pop up in my recommandations again, and had an idea to make a game, made a small plat-former and was just a prototype, got disinterested in that also, and a few more months later, seeing a video about choosing your first game engine in my recommandations, saw my unfinished game. I started from the beginning, and the game looks pretty good, a plat-former with the style similar to game called Thomas was alone, never played that game, but the visuals looked amazing, so I just took inspiration from that. So I will just say thank you for this video. Edit: forgot to mention I am using Gdevelop 5 now, it’s a really amazing engine for beginners, and I am having fun with it.
