I completely agree! Just turned 60. Dan inspires and informs in a way that is empowering and revolutionary. My son and I watch all his videos and have gotten so much out of them. Fantastic stuff! It's tremendously invigorating to tune in to his message and his guidance. I think that older people should definitely tune in also. These are interesting times. The old must learn from the young.

My only problem is what he's saying is too vague. (99% of KZreadrs who create self-improvement content are like that.) I would prefer real-life examples. It seems clear to me that he's pushing us to learn marketing skills... to become copywriters? We can't all become copywriters.

@@JaggedMercenary Don't know what's so difficult to understand. You find something people want but can only get from you and you get compensated. What that something is depend on you, it could be a new type of sponge for cleaning dishes, a new type of shoe or whatever. With how easy it is to start online businesses you can also delve into creating various types of art or software that you can then sell. Seems like you just want to be sat down and told step by step what to do, which won't give you the results you want.

Goals or purpose. Even your North Star. Call it whatever you want, but are you clear on your destination? Is that so clear that that’s what you fight for everyday? Competition is fierce and so is living in the jungle. Welcome to the 21st century. To escape being a slave, regardless of the amount you make, if you can sustain a life you choose and support, help, build, or serve others, will allow a lifestyle of your choosing. If it’s not enough, be more to do more. And if you’re not here to help others in life, good luck making an amount suitable for a lifestyle that you choose. Nonetheless, have a North Star and assure you’re there to be of service. If not, do your thing and enjoy everything that comes with it.

Be careful because there's a trap to this line of thinking. Life is not work. Life is play. Just as you don't work the piano you play it and similarly one dancing along doesn't do so with a point A to B to C in mind. They simply move around the room and relish in the joy of the moment. This concept is as old as literature and is very well articulated in Buddhism, Taoism, Sanskrit and Stoicism. A recipe for misery is to set goals for the sake of purpose. Rather goals come from your purpose. Setting goals for purpose will accelerate how you experience time passing and once your goal is achieved. After the sensation of satisfaction you will feel exactly how you felt before the goal outlined. Another pitfall is the nature of the goal. Use the SMART principal to avoid creating unclear/unobtainable goals.

This idea of creating your own career is an important one! As the world of social media continues to expand and go into different areas, more and more folks are finding value in the things outside of their 9-5 and into their 5-9. However, few including myself play the long game. As someone that went the traditional path of going to school, getting a graduate degree, and getting a regular job, I am glad I did that since it let me have a roof over my head and allow me to explore different areas of the US. I only recently started making an interest to create my own career after finding videos like Dan's and exploring things on my own. Cheers!

Ah, I'm an wannapreneur myself! Take heed because it takes years without any upfront reward before things to start to pay off BUT the journey is well worth it when it comes to creating your own career.

Absolutely agree with regard to self-determination as opposed to being a wage slave and the role to be played by further education driven by personal interests. Also as technology progresses, IMO, it's crucial to recognize that there will always be those in power who seek to dominate others. Therefore, when we engage with emerging technology, it should be viewed as a tool to achieve our broader and self-defined goals, rather than simply learning the skills needed to facilitate others to achieve their goals.

This is a brilliant take on things as they are now and I am inspired by it. That being said it isn't taking into account the stated objective goals of the architects of what is occurring. There are very wealthy people for whom this renaissance, as you call it, is an opportunity for them to return things to the way they once were. This isn't me putting words in their mouth. They are very explicit about what they want for our future. Unfortunately one of those components is the complete loss of individuality and thereby self-mastery. It could easily be that in twenty years no one will be allowed to start anything. For example there is already a debate starting about whether people should be allowed to garden. I think we really need to understand that we cannot win by competing. This is a valid strategy for right now not twenty years from now. We can only win by asserting that society and civilization is exclusively for humans and demand that it serves humans, not the elite and their incorporated machines. The ancient Greeks told us that the goal of civilization is to cause poor men to work for wealthy men. That needs to be changed or we are all in serious trouble.

Ordered your book now to assist greeing myself with, "The Art of Focus". I am looking forward to reading, notating, and applying these concepts to my life. Did you by chance create the title to sit next to the book, "The Art of War" on purpose to increase your books market reach? Thank you for thr golden value of sharing the Creator economy, I too enjoy creative writing although my discipline is a challenge of consistency, praying and intending this book helps me🙏🏼🙏🏼. I am learning the psychology of people, markets and business, looking to combine my generalist and specialized skills with effective leverage. My focus of attention is a skillset or muscle I am learning in part from you to become better.

*science* : to read the world *mathematics* : to model *engineering* : to bend the world if science is x, mathematics is f and engineering is y then we have f(x)=y which in addition to being one of the most important functions is also the concept underlying these disciplines, the function (this way of starting from functions to create disciplines that create functions in turn is a very powerful concept because it allows abstractions of anything) add *economics* to this to make the whole thing sustainable and you have the 4 most important disciplines that you can learn and which generalize the concepts expressed in the video

there are 2 types of jobs that can't be replaced by AI no matter how good it gets 1_ legally licensed jobs : Doctor , Lawyer , Pharmacist , Judge , and ironically maybe drivers and thats because as a society we need somone to legally punish when things go wrong or people die as a consequence of automation and the companies making the AI or the robots will not take responsabiltiy for obvious reasons. 2_ jobs where the customer would prefer a human even if the AI is better : care jobs , service jobs , entertainment .. etc , i really doubt that old people would accept robot carers over humans no matter how good they are . make sure you are able to do one of the jobs mentioned above when things go bad and you might not end up homeless , but hey , if entrepreneurship is working out for you then more power to you but not everyone is elon musk

I think we need to create a future where people are valued for the sentience and well being over whether or not they can contribute anything economically valuable. Say you got in a car accident that left you so brained damaged you couldn’t do any kind of work that earned money, would you still want other people to care about you and for you to have a way to have a good life. If ai really is going to become super intelligent or even directionally close, we need to not tie all of our value and in being able to do things it can’t better.
