I make $1.3M per year on LinkedIn and coach 400+ creators how to make money there. I’ve done this with only 36,000 followers. (Saying this so you listen to me lol) While I agree with Dan on many things I completely disagree with creating a digital product. Dan had a unique set of skills and experience in his freelancing background and spent 100s of hours with clients getting to know their fears, frustrations, wants and aspirations which enabled him to keep know how to construct a good digital product. Not only that but he also had an insanely large social media following that enabled him to effectively cash in on selling essentially B2C or an “impulse” product exactly like Justin Welsh has. This however is not a good idea whatsoever for someone starting out and looking to pivot from a FT job. If you are looking at doing this, you should be doing as much client work 1-1 as you possibly can because this will enable you to get the reps in to understand the nuances of what people actually want. It’s also 100x easier when you are selling product that includes your time to someone + you get the advantage of learning while you are earning. Because the feedback loop you’ll have working with someone is 100x faster than it is attempting to build and sell a product. I also personally know 2x creators, one with 25k followers and the other 65k who are big experts in their niche who went down the digital products route for 2 years and are both close to giving up because they have only made $30k over the time period. For context, I have 50% of the followers of one of them and they are way bigger than me in the sales niche but my personal brand company did $110k last month…. I know Dan is coming from a place of good and I really advocate for most of what he does But digital products I totally disagree with. Sell your time at the beginning to get the experience and customer face to to then pivot later on into building your own program. Just my 2 cents walking home after my midday CrossFit workout after my 4 hour workday.

1 hour a day won't get you far when you start / learn anything new. When you know what levers to pull, you can then start reducing your work hours

✦ Quality of working hours over quantity is key 00:02 Immersion in hustle culture leads to unrealistic expectations Leverage the minimum amount of time to build a business effectively ✦ Entrepreneurs focus on skill leverage and reducing work hours. 02:00 Entrepreneurs aim to reduce the hours they work while still making significant income. Leverage in entrepreneurship is key to unlocking greater financial success and time freedom. ✦ Opportunity for young individuals to make money through social media 06:00 Young individuals are making significant income by leveraging platforms like TikTok and drop shipping, providing them with the freedom to control their time and work on what they enjoy. Transitioning from freelancing to building a one-person media company allowed for greater control over time and the opportunity to create digital products, resulting in substantial earnings while working only 2 to 4 hours a day. ✦ Leveraging social media for product sales 07:54 By building a large following, you can sell products like ebooks based on skills you've learned. Mastering customer acquisition and product creation can lead to significant earnings through sales. ✦ Embracing entrepreneurship and playing the game of work and rest 11:39 The rise of entrepreneurship and desire for top positions without much work Embracing a future where everyone can carve their path and create value online ✦ Investing in assets for financial leverage 13:36 Leverage labor as a form of leverage by having contractors rather than employees. Utilize capital as leverage by investing in businesses, real estate, stocks, or crypto to make more money. ✦ Focus on leveraging media for success 17:21 Utilize social media to attract audiences and create digital products easily Start with media route, build cash flow, and then evolve into bigger ventures ✦ Focus on building an audience and media skills for income replacement and monetization. 19:03 Learn to attract audience with media and get sponsorships for guaranteed monetization. Understand that digital products and media are essential for leveraging and taking control of your life. ✦ Focus on money, productivity, and balance for life improvement 22:38 Money makes it easier to improve relationships, health, etc. Productivity and creativity balance through daily routines and tasks ✦ Managing time efficiently by applying Parkinson's law 24:17 Strategically planning work around gym schedule to ensure completion before exhaustion sets in Focusing on building an audience and creating a product to gain financial independence ✦ Choosing intersecting interests as your niche is crucial for long-term success. 27:44 Don't overly specialize, aim for a unique intersection of interests. Attract people towards your vision, help them achieve goals in alignment with that vision. ✦ Learn from successful social media influencers 29:18 Start by researching popular content topics and monetizing strategies Educate yourself through tutorials, courses, and studying successful influencers ✦ Increase the price before making sales 32:25 You don't need exaggerated promises and countdown timers to sell, focus on a believable goal Product development involves starting with something that sucks, testing, and iterating to create better results ✦ Start by creating a product even if it's not perfect 34:00 It's normal for your first product to be subpar, don't give up. Creating a subpar product first helps to improve and create better products.

"Only slaves were expected to do one thing their entire lives" this resonates so much with my view of live. When I think of getting older it excites me to think how much I will be able to learn. Some people say they don't want to live so long to have a crappy old age, it means they are already predicting their future based on their present. We are multi dimensional beings, we have various interests and if you are smart enough you can connect all those, learn, enjoy the process and call it a business.
