I love the calmness of this review, no crazy techno music overlaid with motion graphics, simple and beautiful
I really love to watch your videos. A calm voice, no shouting, a beautiful soothing background music, beautiful photos... everything is so tranquil and peaceful about your presentation. Please make a video about how you edit from RAW. Keep making quality content like this 👍

After watching countless Fujinon 27mm lens reviews, this one has convinced me. You showed the potential through masterful storytelling using photos. I was tired of looking at charts and hearing chromatic aberrations and sharpness which in the end hardly ever matters for me. Fujifilm should thank you.
Love your videos man. Thank you for sharing your pictures....it's so inspiring to watch. You showed that F2.8 is still amazing to work with. ✌🏼✨❤️
you really take your time to tell the story the right way, love the quality and the peace that your video gives, also lot of inspiration. 👍🏻

"quality" - efforts of mind/creativity and more, "peace" coming from soul. both aspects put in video making. a good realization for me to see David as you saw in these videos
I really enjoyed the way you put this video together and pulled the trigger on purchasing the lens. Highly enjoyed the music and how calm and smooth your talking was. It’s nice after so much in your face blinging noises in the world and online. Thanks and can’t say how excited I am. Gonna take some nice photos soon enough
Wonderful review and amazing pictures. This is the most inspiring review I´ve seen of the 27mm.
Less than 2 minutes in and I'm blown away by every photo. Incredible images Edit: masterpiece
What a lovely, soft way to present a lens. Much much appreciated 🙏🏻✨
Hi! I just discovered you and i feel such a calming effect watching your work. I’ve been using an xf27mm with my XE1 for 2 years now and it’s my only set up. I came from a 16mm equivalent but really wanted a Fuji camera that was pocketable and didn’t want another fixed lens camera! I’d like a wider perspective but with the 27 it’s so compact and usable and I don’t even use a lens cap so it’s always ready. In all weather too as it’s not WR but i just pull it out my pocket! Most importantly, 2 years in and the images, when you get that 1 shot! Makes me happy… Thanks for making videos!
Your postings always show very clearly the photo qualities you're describing. Thanks for pointing out how much can be done with some of the more basic cameras and lenses. I have a bunch of Fuji lenses and the 27mm on the X-T20 is my favorite kit for street photography.
Thank you very much for the video and for your time. I really liked your slow and calm style. the photographs are simply wonderful.
Incredible pics! Love the video, the calmness and the pictures!
Your video inspired me a lot. Thanks to this, I was able to see the potential of the 27mm lens!
Such a unique video (and photo) style, so much thoughtfulness and care! Please keep being yourself, that's exactly what we need :)

Spent the weekend going through all your videos. Fist pass for the info then have to go back through to appropriate your work. I have been trying to decide between the 27mm and the 16mm. So glad I found your channel.
Your video and images are always on point dude, solid work!
Superb viewing. The 27 is a gem. A couple of years ago I spent a couple of days in Paris. With my XE3. I brought several lenses 23f2, 18-55. 16f2.8 which had only just been released. However the 27 was the one I connected with. Needn’t have brought the others. Unobtrusiveness, image fidelity and also the focal length - great for square format - make it a versatile champion.
great shots! i got this lens in the kit with the x-e4 and have been having a lot of fun with it. it's the perfect size for a compact street photography setup
So glad your video showed up in my home page! Great video my guy :)
amazed on your production quality! instantly subscribed. thank you for the great vids !!

You my friend know how to take photos with *emotion* and an almost nostalgic quality. Beautiful music choices too ❤
What a great video. Very relaxing music , you have a very calm and easy to listen to speaking voice , the photographs you showed were great aswell.
The 27mm (40ish) is a really fantastic focal length. For those who aren’t used to it, it might feel a bit strange at first because they can’t decide if the lens is a wide or a standard, but just give it some time. The focal length really grows on you and becomes natural. I shot for years with a Pentax 40mm (full frame) and is really unique and rewarding, the 27mm Fuji is no different
Great! I was confused between 35 & 27, now am clear. Thank you!
FINALLY this lens has become available again, just picked one up, didn't want to wait and then have it be out of stock for another YEAR
Crushing it with the uploads man!
Your calm review style is so refreshing. Beautiful photos as well... You made a new subscriber out of me!
Your photos are absolutely stunning! Thank you.
I've owed the mark I version for several years. When I bought the XE4 I upgraded my pancake. It is a wonderful lens. Glad I stumbled across your channel. Nice!!!

Stunning photography! Really captivating and honest
You inspired me to switch from Sony to Fuji! I sold my A7C and ZV1 and got an XPro 3 and an XT4. Got the 50mm, 35mm, 27mm and 16-80 lenses. My one worry is autofocus when vlogging. I don't do tons of crazy shots but am still noticing its not as good as sony. any tips for auto focus with video?

get a fuji lens with the letters LM in them, it stands for linear motor and is meant for the newer autofocus sensors like in the xt4

For me the auto focus for talking heads have been working flawlessly. Make sure you have eye detection on, it’s really able to track my movement. You can also find videos where people go over the best focus settings for each lens, so you can try that if it’s still an issue for you 👍

I would say do your best to not compare it to Sony autofocus. I own both systems too, and the reality is that Fuji just doesn't touch Sony's autofocus. But for what it lacks, it makes up for in colours, and joy of use... while the Sony system is pretty much uninspiring. I look at fuji as a camera, and Sony as a tool.

@@FrankDavalos this is so true.. why not own both systems @Volksgeist ? you can choose your fav qualities from each system (im saying this because you can afford 2 flagship fuji cameras so owning 2 systems will not be a problem for u..) im a fuji + olympus user :)

Killer review. Love the style.
you do have a style, I love it. Bravo!!!
You have wonderful photos. Thanks for the review. I'll buy it for family photos :)
As a Sony user since 5 years, I am tempted to get the XE4 for the compact body and film sims. Your video is so gorgeous!
if there was ever a video that convinced me to buy something.. it's this one... im a believer now.
Awesome video!! Great info!!
Your work is art. I love your art
Been debating picking up either the 23mm or the 27mm so this video was v helpful
Thanks for your review. I got this lens with my XE-4 kit and was not sure, if i should sell it to get a 23 F2. But after lot of reviews i think i'll keep it and use it next to the 56 1,4 (Viltrox) while strolling around in the city.
I am most of the times not impressed at all with the photos of most photographers on KZread but I really really like your photos serr! Cinematography is superb anyways. As an owner of an X-E2s with the old version of the 27 and an X-E4 with the new version I can say that this review is spot on! Aperture ring and WR are huge upgrades and AF is much quicker and more reliable on the newer body. Buying the X-E4 with this in the kit version is a no brainer. I have lots of Fuji glass and prefer the XF35 f2 for rendering but the size of this lens and the stealthiness (like he also said) is soo convenient.
I have the original 27mm. It w the X-E4 is my daily driver. Such a good system to casually shoot.
nice music, nice pics, no stupid talk - appreciated
Great pictures, very calming
I love your videos! Way to go. Your photos look so mellow and film like. Would you mind doing a video on how you edit your Fuji photos? That would be super cool.

Will be working on they video soon! 👌
I own the Mk i version and compared it to the Leica Elmarit 28/2.8 - sharpness is on par, colour rendition is slightly more punchy with Leica, but nothing that can‘t be fixed in post. BTW like the motion blur in your pictures.
I pre-ordered this lens and received it in the first batch sent out from Amazon. I love it. I use to vacillate trying to decide between the 23mm and 35mm Fujicrons and now this lens solves that dilemma. The one weakness for me is the minimum focus distance. I shot a ruler with this lens and the 23mm f/2 at the closest distance possible and the difference is pronounced if you like tight shots of things. Still, this may not be a big deal for street type shots. Mine has been on my X-E class bodies since I got it. No regrets.
@seanokana
2 жыл бұрын
the difference is that the 23 is not sharp at the closest focus distance.. the 27 is sharp at nearest focus distance.. so when you have to step back with the 23 they have just about the same focus distance at peak sharpness.
Tienes la sensibilidad perfecta para mirar. Se nota en tus fotografías!
interesting motion blur photo in the end to say thankyou ;)
Damn.. you are talented.. great inspirational video. Thanks man!
Got version one (non-WR, no aperture ring) on OfferUp for $200. Since I have an X-T30, I don't need WR and I use the front dial for aperture control. Great little street lens.

i use it with the X-T30 too, it's a fantastic combo
27mm is *the* standard lens. There is a reason it’s a go to for a lot of old school DPs. 1917 was shot almost entirely with a 40mm.
@serr

Wow, didn’t know that, thank you! Might have to try the focal length out for filming.
@VariTimo

@@serr Yeah it’s really weird too. I shot a lot of 35mm (50mm full frame) because I was told it was the most natural focal length. But what happened was that my shots were often a bit too tight because I place the camera at the distance I want the audience to feel to the characters. 1917 really got my into rethinking and re-researching the topic from a cinematographer‘s point. And the fact that 27mm is ever so slightly wide makes it feel more like your in it as a viewer, without distorting faces and distances in any meaningful way. I also noticed than that the 35mm is actually flat in terms of perspective. That makes it feel more like a portrait lens. It doesn’t squish things together like longer lenses do tho. I also like to use 20mm a lot (30mm on full frame). But 21mm is where it’s at if you want to represent a scenes as undistorted as possible. And it’s really great for putting the viewer in the place with the characters.

Nice overview - and great images. Can you tell me if this new version of the lens will work on my old X-Pro1?
