In the comics Esme and Sophie got the most development, and they were the ones to die. Esme became more of a rebel/badass and Sophie tried to be more of a pure hero

@@SPIDERVENOM1000 Sophie and Phoebe were captured by Sentinel Services and taken to Trask in Season 1. When Esme made the guards deactivate the collars, the other two sisters stepped out of the van transporting the mutants from the lab to jail and threw their collars away.

@@SPIDERVENOM1000 Well, I guess you could debate whether or not they let themselves be captured, but it doesn't change the fact that they were taken to Trask. They always seem to be on some kind of agenda, so it's possible they were there to get information or something. However, in what I think was the second episode of season 2, when Sophie and Phoebe say that Esme is getting "soft" after her time spent in the mutant underground, they do say they were locked up during that time. They wouldn't have reason to keep up appearances and lie to each other when only the sisters and Reeva were in the room.

at the time there were 5 clones, 2 were held back. eventually when the girls did escape and kill their captors, their sisters also died from the collars. the three felt it, felt them die. it's why even Esme turned off her humanity/emotions stopped caring about anyone but her sisters

Now I don't hate the Frost Sisters after watching her backstory. They knew the worst of mankind and now they do what they were taught to do. They are monsters humanity created.

Interestingly Esme in the comics was a monster. She tried to kill their mother, shot her with a diamond bullet in fact. Esme was murdered by Xorn. Sophie died of a drug overdose. Currently all 5 are alive again and serving as their mother's proteges

I think the reason they did this is because they couldn’t afford 5 actresses long term and the way they animate Esmes face onto the stunt doubles likely cost a lot too. We have to remember this was right before the Disney merger and money was getting tighter and tighter. That’s why they were so quick to sell up in the first place. If the merger happened sooner and if they renew the gifted and make it an mcu thing they could probably have kept the 1 actress and 4 stunt doubles. Also I’m not sure but I think in the comics 2 of them actually DO die but as adults. Also side note if they renew the gifted or bring back the frosts in the mcu reboots then I hope they keep the actress who played the adult versions of them. Because I think she was a really cool choice. She’s so good at playing 3 of the same person. And actually playing 3 personalities in one. The other 2 girls were on the more sociopathic side whereas Esme was morally corrupt but like actually was capable of feeling sympathy. She’s so good at playing that as 3 different people. Also I bet she’d look badass in the diamond form (btw yes they’re supposed to be able to use the diamond form like the original Emma Frost)

I wonder what has happened to the older members of the Inner Circle at this point in the timeline? I'm referring to Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost, Selene, and Harry Leland. They were, in the comics, the original Inner Circle members. Are they dead together with very many of the X-Men and Brotherhood? Going by the comics, Selene -- being possibly the world's very first mutant (predating even Apocalypse) -- doesn't die easily. She might still be lurking out there, possible somewhere in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Imagine a mutant with her age and potency to still be alive and operating.

Selene is great character, not a simple mutant but an external. A sub espeicies of mutants that are trully inmortal. She can even come back from disintegration. Reeva and Lorna are ok but she is the real black queen of the Inner circle

Mutants were outed to the world in 1962 but in the show they explicity say that Fenris were well know mutant terrorist in 1950. The original idea was share the continuity with the movies but I think that it is different now.
