Videos like this truly exemplify how much of a military historian you primarily are. And honestly your depth of analysis and perspective about the history of human distancing from Traditional values wouldn't be as deep if you weren't that much of a Medievalist as well. Never heard anyone reading so limpidly and coherently the last two hundred years of our history based on archetypal doctrine. I think this current war in Ukraine is kinda like WW1 in the sense that these are near peers fighting each other so there won’t be large breaks or swift knockout blows but they’ll just be bleeding each other white and running down their resources before much can be achieved in terms of territory taken

Finally a well said WW1 story. I also find it incredible how much the average rando/normie has deliberately fallen for the completely made-up myth of Versailles making national-socialism ultimately to cripto-justify the latter (everybody can see it btw): the Germans did have a hegemonic design also in WW1 and would have not stopped had they had the chance: they failed at an irrealistically quick war, went on fighting only worsening the situation and ripped all what they sowed (reminds me of someone today). That's what a war is like: but I guess there's always the kid that has problems with defeats.

Yea true but it was easier to split up because it was a multilingual country that has been unstable for a while. and a lot of people hated them for what happened earlier in history. Austria was very powerful but was seen as an outdated feudal relic.
