The Freakishly Fast World of Robot Sumo

Спорт

Welcome to the lightning-fast world of robot sumo, where two robots battle it out for mechanical supremacy. But, keep your eyes peeled-robots that take years to build can be decimated within mere seconds. Robot sumo has developed into a furiously competitive sport in Japan, with participants spending years building their autonomous machines. Just ask Takahiro Ito, a robot designer and builder who spends 360 days a year working on his craft. It's a demanding sport that requiring extreme dedication, all for a few seconds of glory.

the one thing they completely glossed over in this video is that there are no remote controls, its all programed into the robot. thats how they can move so fast and precisely.

When i first saw this i couldn't believe it. Like how fast it moves with 100% traction and precision. And it ends up being programmed to do specific moves. And is getting its traction from the magnets dragging it to the metal arena. I thought it was remote controlled and i was like "theres no way thats remote controlled. Millimetres from the white line there ain't no way a person could be that precise" so im here watching.

But how do they work? Are they radio controlled or is there a predetermined algorithm? What are the robot requirements? Is there a weight limit? I wish the video was slightly more information dense
