Hi Joshua, thanks for watching and fur the comment. While my videos really are there to give you an idea of what the book looks like and what it generally contains, it can't (and shouldn't) replace the book itself. The notes are in the book itself which is available in the links in the description (I'm sure you understand). However, with regards to helping you understand magic, that's really one of the aims of this channel, and while I'm going about it in a rather long-winded way, is what the Esoteric Saturday play list is all about 😁 Check it out if you haven't already (though be aware that it's a work in progress). I did not know there was a Forth Book. I only have the Three Books of Occult Philosofy edited by Donald Tyson, the same one you show here actually, which is huge and have not finished yet btw.. I am new to your channel, but so far I am really loving it. You should definitely do a video of "The Complete Mystical Records of Dr. John Dee" by Kevin Klein.

Reading this right now, it's a must have if you have the first three

Just recieved a copy of the 4th book by Donald Tyson and i have to say his notes are priceless. i too went for this because of the hardback but i managed to get a lewellyn Tyson copy for 17£ so i couldnt not get it. Out of y Skinner edition and Tyson id pick Tyson now i have skimmed through the notes and annotations.

With the knowledge from these books can i perform incantations im kinda new to this

If you compare some of the illustrations of the English translation with the Latin translation, you will find some minute differences, example: A 6 pointed star instead of a 5 pointed star in some places, the Latin looks very well drawn with straight lines and pleasing to the eyes, but Skinner used the English illustration (>▂

I'm afraid I don't own Tyson's edition, but it's well known for being the best in terms of footnotes and completeness.

Did you write the blurb on Dr Skinners Techniques of Greaco Eygyptian Magic? Very similar writing to Hidden Paths, Which was brilliant btw!

About 9 months ago, I paid for a nice edition of The Magus directly on Hell Fire Club Books' website. Its status on their website is still 'processing order'. I've written them emails, left PMs on their Facebook and comments on many of their posts. I've never had a response.

Foolish Fish I got the Weiser Books edition, I got lucky and found it for like $13, it’s about as complete as I could find and is a direct scan. Damn good quality, sorry to hear they screwed you on it

There is a much prettier edition coming out next year from Black Letter Press. Also, the edition by Donald Tyson is much more helpful for the practitioner.

@@nunyabigness588 Tyson's edition includes a load of footnotes that are geared towards the practitioner. The BLP edition is a new, fresh translation altogether.
