I’ve recently bought a very low mileage Gsi x reg with a sunroof ! Absolutely loving it , I also own a mondeo st200 saloon it’s main competitor in all tests back in the day and I’d say the Vectra is nicer to drive and better put together.

I own exactly the same car but in black for past 10 years and I love it to bits and always puts a smile on my face.

Everyone complaining about the title saying super saloon instead of hatchback, it’s basically a saloon but with a tailgate instead of a boot it’s not exactly a Clio 182 is it 🤦🏻‍♂️

@Dave Johnson Yes there's a saloon vectra and this is basically the same car but with a different boot. Yes it's technically a hatchback but it's not a Hot Hatch is it. It's more of a sports saloon

@@Jase73 many examples have sold for over 10,000. More than your Mondeo ST200. and the Vectra VXR will be even more desirable as it carries BTCC racing pedigree.

My old man’s got the 2.6 GSI. It’s been under cover in the garage for years, forgot what it looks like😂

I had a 2.5 V6 vectra SRi Great Car

I was always a “Ford man” but had a Nova SRi and a V6 Cavalier of the mid 90’s. Both had better engines than their Ford equivalent, but rubbish chassis. I think there’s a lot to be said for mid 90-early 00’s cars, and much more accessible than newer stuff that has more power, but you just can’t use it on B roads. Great video Jamie, nicely done.

I've had 6 Vectra B's . Always loved the look of them . 4 of them were the 2.0 petrol . and always wanted the 2.6 so I got the 2.6 CDX . AND I was hooked on its power delivery . And my last one is the 2.6 gsi I've had it 4 years . brought it for £800 . Apart from lacquer peel on the tail gate. The only other problem was the roof Ariel rubber detroated causing the roof lining to sag . never had that happen before. The B was a much underrated car

The thing that makes these vectras cool (like the mk2 mondeo ST, primera GTs) is the Super touring BTCC cars. You look at them like they’re a touring car for the road. Awesome video btw

Love these, nice throwback Jamie. Had a T reg Vectra LS 1.8 (lowest spec I think) in 2004. It was slow and boring but it helped me lug my guitar amps to band practise. Really miss this era of cheap big cars, but they were cheap for a reason. These were never built to last unfortunately. Glad to see the higher spec Vectras are still around though, kudos to those who own one and keep them running.

i picked a 2.6 sri up last year for £230 spent a grand on it love the way it drives and yes there is something about it and the sound cant get enough of it always want to put my foot down

Had 2 Vectra Supertouring 200's (Still got one) and absolutely love it Granted, not the fastest car in the world but it's comfy, sounds good, looks good and a very rare sight on the roads! Love the V6 soundtrack

Had a black MSD MK1 saloon. Loved it. Used to sound like a spitfire when the revs got up. Blew the motor up and broke it for parts in the end.

Had an SRi when I was 18, always wanted a GSi, still do! Always felt those vectras got a hard time, I liked them

Had a 2002 1.8 sxi saloon,had it over 10 years did over 100,000 miles in it and it never let me down,wish I still had it now

Mate had 2.5v6 very good car never went wrong had it years 👍 very reliable I driven it quick car I tried to get one but they were all knackered shame so I got a focus st225 instead 😀

My dad had one of these around 2005 Same colour etc completely forgot about it untill i saw this video!

Had a 2.5 SRI V6 back in the day - great sound with an induction kit and a decent exhaust - but it did like to flash an engine light every so often .... let's be honest though, the scrappage scheme killed these off, nothing else.

@Dave Johnson I had 2 of them, insurance was reasonable but they drank fuel, 23 mpg average on short urban runs, I could get mid to high 30's on a run if I drove it like a granny at a steady 60 mph.

In my youth I owned a 2.0L SRI VECTRA I think 🤔 it was a 16v job and was an N plate. Best car I owned in them days but it made me skint. I was 18 or 19 at that time. Very expensive for a young lad to insure aswell. If I could own another I would. Like you said, so comfortable like your fav armchair but on steriods. L.ol. plenty of get up and go. Great for motorway cruising. Mine was that shape. The best shape. They did change the shape as some point. I think changing it made it look totally shit but that's my opinion. Brings back great memories..

The 90s was a sweet spot. Mutlivalve, injected engines and decent suspension with proper travel. They weren't weighed down with gadget and safety equipment so felt faster.

Got a 96mod vectra b 2.5v6 cdx as my daily driver, 215k miles and stil running better than my 2001 mondeo 2.5v6 with 100k miles. Decat downpipes helped a lot, got the g cams on the intake side(didnt make it any faster in the real world) 3.8 bar fuelpressure regulator and aftermarket airfilter/conefilter-make it sound fast as hell, same about the aftermarket muffler😅 decat downpipes i give 👍

I own a 2007 Sri vauxhall Vectra c car. Stil have it and love it . Good running car if taken care of. .

What wheels are they,..they have a vx line atomic look to them but chunkier.

Just owned a 2.5 v6 sport for less than 24 hours was a bit ropey so sold it to mates dad who’s using it for spares for his really clean GSi

I had an S reg 2.5 GSi estate about 14 years ago - that I paid £600 for - great car ! (Had a Cav V6 back in the day too - was brill ! )

No its a cool car 2.6 was my favorite but yes worth presurving older cars have sole new cars are just clinical..

Friend used to have one iirc, but they put the tax through the roof and ended up moving it on

Even in the late 90's early 2000.s - 0-60 in 8 seconds for a car like this was underwhelming

They always looked and sounded that part but not the fastest thing on the road!

My father had one and they could pull towards 150 mph on a long stretch of road. Not as fast as the Vectra VXR which is even more desirable

I had one of the last 2.5 gsi on an x plate for nearly 7 years. I got it when I had just turned 19, my dad had one brand new when i was about 13. I'm 36 now. Was one of the best cars I have ever had and even back then, car meets and cruises was the only one there. I had a decent cat back, with big ram air cone with cold feed and a 3.8bar fpr which gets rid of the horrible flat spot around 3.5k. Mine used to do close to 110 in 3rd lol 😆

Ironic that every car on the road was a vectra b at one point. You rarely see the c variant these days. Have to say to the owner. The wheels are horrible. Original gsi wheels were pretty bespoke even when they were a popular car. It was such a pretty car. Again those front bumpers were very expensive and hard to get hold of. But it did handle like a boat and 190bph from a V6 was pretty awful. A far cry from what the actual bttc version was but it was nice to pretend I suppose.

Best car I ever owned was a gsi. Vectra. Loved it

I had a R reg 2.0 gls. Worst handling car i've ever owned. There's no feel in the steering what so ever. Like playing a video game. My sons 6v ride on with plastic wheels handles better than a vectra.b.Torque steer was unbelievable for a car with 130 bhp. The headlights were about as good as 2 candles. Still quite like the way they look. Love the way the mirrors flowed into bonnet but they are bloody useless. All in all a shit car.

I have this Vectra 2.2l sport facelift + turbo and bodykit. It will win any car you put it against here. The cornering in that car is just amazing. You can drive 160 kmh into a corner and never lose grip. 5.7 seconds to 0-100, but it won't go over 277kmh. I was a Mercedes guy, but after owning three of these fantastic cars (2 vectras, 1 omega), I've become an Opel guy. I do have an omega 2.2l sport too, but it's still in the carage. Work in progress. but a word of caution Don't buy an Opel if it's not an Omega or a Vectra 2002-and down, everything else sucks ass, believe me.

Vectras we’re a bit of a flop after the cavalier. 👎 Gsi cavalier was a much better car imo 🤔 some may disagree. The red top was a far superior engine.

I disagree. The Vectra will be just as iconic due to their BTCC racing pedigree, thats both the Vectra GSI and later VXR

Me brother had a cavalier with the vectra gsi engine in, it's just seemed a little lazy once it was up the revs in third and fourth it went just seemed a bit sluggish in the lower gears

There's a reason they've been forgotten....they where awful cars .....thirsty handled terribly .... Wasnt that quick ......looked awful ....and I owned one lol ... preferred the Sri ...nearly as quick ...way better on fuel ....and easier to sell on 🤷🏻

Terrible cars, about as fast as when I let a slow wet fart out of my arse, Cavalier was a far better machine.

Im a vauxhall man at heart. I used to own a GC8 Subaru Impreza 400 BHP, Almera GTI SR20DE and a E36 BMW

nowhere near in the same class as the Vectra. It was a much better ergonomically designed car, faster and well put together. The ST220 is slow as fuck and loses to a 7 seater Zafira VXR. Let alone it would get demolished by a Vectra VXR. Different league
