The Writer's Strike is so confusing from the Studios perspective. For an average production, writing costs 2-5% of the production budget (so pre-advertising), for bigger budget projects, the writers often are under 1% of the production budget. The amount of money that the strike has cost the studios already _far_ exceeds Writer's Guild demands, yet the studios don't seem to watch to budge at all. They're cutting off their noses to spite their faces.

My biggest gripes with the film were: -No Flash Villains. (Not even Thawne), -Weird CGI where it wasn't needed. -No one has taught Ezra how to run yet. -So they show different earths colliding, and not one is Grant Gustin or John Wesley Ship? But several are Superman? And a generic Jay Garrick who may or may not be Teddy Sears. That said, I still enjoyed it. There are just a few things I'd have changed, without changing the plot much. Thawne would be involved, Flash fights a Flash Villain at the start, lets go with the Trickster (Mark Hamill of course). Show the other Flashes in the Multiverse. Actually use the actors in scenes where CGI isn't needed. Show Noras Death, Yellow Suited man and all.

37:45 I was able to swallow it during the movie because of the circumstances of the end with the awful AWFUL faces... But the stuff with the babies in the beginning was also really bad to the point where I laughed at how stupid it looked. Didn't hate the movie though... Just yeah, let's move on to better stuff now Edit: 42:12 😂

I loved The Flash. It's sense of humour was fun, I liked all the actors and I got a kick out of all the cameos. I couldn't stand any of the other multiverse films but this was fun. Supergirl's instant grasp of powers was played exactly the same as Zod's were in Man of Steel. I've hated most films in the DCEU but this was a cool way to bow out.

What if in Aquaman 2, it starts with Bwn Affleck in the beginning switches to Michael Keaton in the middle, then ends with George Clooney. Implying that it coincides with the flash movie lmao. What if that's the reason everyone hates it. Because there's no explanation as to why there's just 3 characters playing 1 role

Young Einstein is kind of like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen but with inventors/scientists, has some beautiful shots of the country, a great soundtrack with Icehouse, Models, Paul Kelly, Big Pig and Mental as Anything covering The Beatles, and a lovely cast.

While “No Way Home” has better villains, Flash has a better plot device and reasoning for changing the timeline. Trying to save your murdered mom is much better than fixing it so ppl don’t know your identity and screw it up so your gf remembers.

Andy’s answer makes sense. They had to make all the time bubble CGI faces look the same because they obviously couldn’t get new scans of Christopher Reeve or George Reeves. So you keep them ALL in a style that’s unified, the “time changing aesthetic.”

Its heartbreaking hearing about JRS. Of course it would have been nice if it was a bigger thing, people actually knew about it, or he got more credit than a single line at the bottom of the credits during a movie, but i think that would be clearly asking for too much.

Hello, I understand this may not be the proper traditional venue for this, I'm a huge fan of the show, and the idea to post this here just kinda came to me. Imdb has deleted my review of this film on a very vague basis, and call me crazy but it seems like there's an attempt to bury any criticism of this "movie". Anywho, here's what imdb thought was inappropriate. Thank you in advance if ya actually read it. Cheers. I never thought I'd actually do this. I've seen many movies in recent years that were terrible, and I flirted with the idea of maybe typing up my thoughts to share with others, but ultimately always found an excuse not to. Not enough time, everyone's pretty much saying the same thing, not a lot to say beyond "it's bad", etc. But this is the one that did it. And honestly, I would've never predicted that. To sum up my feelings of the dceu is fairly easy. It's a mess. Whether you love it or hate it. You know it's a mess. Constantly course correcting. Absolutely no faith in their creators, characters or story telling decisions. Everything from Batman vs Superman onward has been one dramatic behind the scenes turn to the next. A flagship with no charted course. Not even a destination in mind. Both versions of Superfriends being the absolute nadir. Until we get to this load. I don't have any real interest in the allegations against Ezra Miller, honestly if the fact show business is loaded with perverts, degenerates, pederasts, etc. Is news to you, then I'd love to know what rock you crawled out from under. It must be nice there. Since the first version of Superfriends, I've hated this guy. The worst version of twerpy dork awkward guy humor. We've all seen it a thousand times. It's nothing new whether you like it or not and I understand mileage will vary person to person. But I can't stand this gas bag. His portrayal is a pathetic mishmash of Reynold's Deadpool and earnest nerdy Peter Parker. Only even more juvenile than the worst that Van Wilder has to offer. Like me, you mighta been kinda duped into seeing this because you're a 90's kid and ya love Keaton Batman. Well... I'm sorry to say that while Mr. K does his best to bring a bit of his unique weird charm to the character that he brought to Burton's films, this isn't the same character. Or rather, it's like a podperson version of '89 Batman. He says the lines, "I'm Batman.", "Let's get nuts.", but they're delivered strictly because they're callbacks. There's no emotion behind these readings. And you can tell Michael Keaton thinks it's all rather stupid. That's not the worst part. There's a reason Burton photographed Batman in the dark, at night, amongst the shadows, often in silhouette. And that's because Keaton's look doesn't work when you divorce him from that context. Burton's Gotham is entirely absent from the film, and thus Batman (Keaton's version) looks more like one of the players from the cw arrowverse, then he does the avenging caped crusader from your childhood. All of the gothic ambiance is gone, thus so is Batman's mystique. Supergirl. She could've been awesome. Actually love the suit. The actress didn't offend me. Good for her. Wished she'd actually gotten a role. Poor Micahel Shannon doesn't even want to be there. You can tell. He's all but said as much in press material leading up to this film's release. It's quite apparent. And just sad to watch. Like Keaton, it's the pale imitation of something that once held so much passion and energetic creativity. But now lies truly dead. A wraith propped up for the audience to collect more capital and dance the number everyone knows. The depiction of the time travel/speed force was bafflingly awful. It's styled in the shape of a Roman coliseum for some stupid reason and the cgi (as noted by many others) is polar express - level bad. The twist that the creature (darkflash) is actually Barry isn't a shock to anyone that's seen a movie before let alone actually familiar with the source material. The climactic battle as seen in the trailers is deflated and lame. Man of Steel had a more bombastic ending than this and that was a decade ago. Most of the fight is spent with 2 versions of Ezra Miller (God help me) bantering and reciting jokes that Reynolds crumpled up and discarded over his shoulder. Supergirl doesn't do much except die. Batman flies around a bit. Then also dies. I forgot to mention that the whole story hinges on a can of tomatoes. Perhaps it's just me, but something about that is just excessively stupid. A bad joke. And that's ultimately what this movie ended up being to me. A bad joke, told poorly. For 2 hours straight.

Harrison Ford is from a generation where he got to work with visionary directors who knew how to get the best out of his limited range, as opposed to journeyman directors who helm most of today's major films. Plus, he's like 70-odd and clearly hasn't given a shit since the 90s.

I enjoyed The Flash when I saw it, but I have given it literally no thought afterwards as to whether it made sense or what actually happend. Part of that I think is also that I just didn't care about the Snyderverse and this continuity so I just saw it as a goofy one off (I did love Suicide Squad and enjoyed the first Wonder Woman and Birds of Prey). I'd heard about the bad cgi so while it was very very bad, I was prepared for it to be. Maybe if I thought about it I'd have a different opinion, but as I was watching it I enjoyed it well enough.
