I agree with you 100 percent but one thing I didn't like about Barry's behavior was that he was being a hypocrite. He told Nora that he believed that in the future it's possible that even Thawn could change. Nora hearing this is why she continued to work with him so I don't like how Barry was like "oh how could you possibly trust him he's evil and always will be"

I knew I dropped this show during season 4 but I wasn't sure exactly at what point. Watching this video I remembered I dropped it exactly after the episode with this scene. And by what I've heard since, I have no regrets about my decision but at the same time, not gonna lie, I really wish I didn't have to because the first 2 seasons were absolutely fantastic.

@@namishjain9238 Honestly does it really make a difference? Like yeah, from a character perspective it doesn't make sense an adult would act like a kid. But would making her a kid or teenager and have her still be so fucking annoying all the time while spouting cringe "future slang" make her somehow NOT annoying? If she's annoying now, making her younger wouldn't make her less annoying. And that's the real problem with this character.

And this is exactly why everyone hates Iris. Every other episode she's fighting with Barry for a stupid reason, and we know it's only because the writers can't think up other ways to start drama and conflict. What they don't understand is that people don't want to see a husband and wife fighting with each other every time a decision has to be made. We want to see a married couple support each other. Iris wouldn't be nearly as hated if she had to go through conflict with others because she stands by Barry and his choices, and vice versa for him.

You know a lot of Nora's decisions would have made more sense if she were younger. Just make her like 13 or 14 and have her go back to try and meet her dad on thawnes advice, not knowing it's a part of his plan. So because she see's him as a sort of fun uncle she gets manipulated into doing something, then she dies as a result. Of course this ends thawne gaining the benefits.

Barry said earlier in the season that even Thawne could change. But the problem with Barry/Iris arguing is the fact that Barry never mentions that Nora has been seeing Thawne even after she went back in time. Iris only saw Nora/Thawne as the "she needed to know how to use her powers so she went to the only one who could." Hardly something to blame Nora for. But knowingly coming back to Thawne when Barry was there is what she completely ignores and I doubt she'd be so keen on defending this situation from there.

@@thewateversho223gaming agreed, I wouldn't say it went to shit personally, but it definitely started to dip, especially at certain spots. despite this, S7 part1 (forces arc) still showed the lowest lows and not nearly as many redeemable highs for me. (it sucks that Crisis sort of complicated things more and made things worse for the show rather then the opposite, such a mixed bag of a cross-over-event)

Oh no kidding there, I completely agree with you. Nora lied about her association with Thawne and kept going back to him in spite of knowing what he did, so she deserved what Barry did to her. And even if working with Thawne was necessary, Iris saying she didn't care about it, especially considering Thawne has killed Barry's mom and ruined his and his dad's life, it makes her come off as an uncaring sociopath. At this point, Iris would get along very well with the Arkham Asylum inmates without a doubt, they are really alike.

I actually think it would have been worse if thawne became a good guy. Just because it would have been a massive plot hole for so many reasons

Before we all quit watching the show, my friends and I had a discussion about iris's character the last couple seasons, and we all came to the conclusion that the writers have no idea what they were doing with her. It was like the original intention was to kill her off at the end of season 3, and somebody vetoed that without any clear idea of what to do with her.

I honestly reckon they should've killed her off in season 3. It would've shaken up the entire dynamic of the show, I would've liked to see it.

I genuinely enjoyed Thawne’s performance in this season. My most hated scene was when Nora was like “omg you were right Thawne is evil”. Like she didn’t even hear a f*cking word her dad said. I know you touched on that but it pisses me off to no ends

What angered me the most about this season is that when Sherloque told them about Nora, they all proceeded to get mad at him for not telling them sooner. Plus they wouldn't have believed him because they were all blinded with desperation to have Nora there, especially Iris. He was right, their anger was misplaced and you can't come to a final conclusion without all the evidence.

Brooo that would've been so much cooler honestly. It would make Cicada an actual threat and make the plot a lot more interesting. We could have seen Dwyer grow his followers and have Barry, Ralph, and Sherloque do detective work together! Everytime people die, cicada could get more powerful, and eventually, we wouldn't need another one. We could have seen him get more abilities (like future grace had) gradually. Finally, the writers should have picked up the pace with Thawne and remove unnecessary drama, acting, and plot holes. All of that could have been combined to make season five decent.

I haven't seen season 6 yet, but the thing that really broke this show for me, was Westallen. I don't mind Iris, and I have no problem with Westallen as a ship, but then it became the most important thing in the show, around season 3. It pushed so many things out of the spotlight, things that I miss, for itself, and that makes it really hard for me to appreicate them as a couple. I honestly wish they'd killed her off in season 3 when it seemed like she would die - not just because she's a bland character, but because it also would've shaken up the entire dynamic of the show as Barry learns to function without one of the most important people in his life. It would've been cool to see a self-fulfilling future here, for example. To show Barry that his mistakes are important, and hopefully to help him grow from them. Idk man, I just miss seasons 1 and 2.

Yeah, and they fight anymore the "discuss" I'm not a fan of violence its just that its so anticlimactic for a superhero show. And iris should help for barrys character development but instead she made him like a robot, he doesnt do anything without iris in his ear and make him less independent. They are so obsess with the westallen dynamic that they forget about the other characters and seriously iris as team leader science and technology is not her forte she even finds it boring but for some reason she is the team leader my god i really do miss season 1 and 2😢

i don't miss season 1 and 2. mainly because of how Flash......wasn't much of a scientist as i thought he would be. Yeah he knows his physics, but anything other then that? gone. Iris....meh i didn't really liked or cared for her in season 1 and 2. just the generic I'm a reporter and my best friend or boyfriend or brother is a superhero i adore. season 3 and onwards? i lost all interest in her and she's the worst at pep talk. @@thatguyjd7408 I like season 7 a bit more than 5 but yeah.... there is literally no action its all talking down the villains and Iris is basically the main character now. Also they decided to have Cisco, which is my personal favorite character in the show to leave. They also think for some reason that the forces are ther children or something. Its very wack. There is only like 2 or 3 episodes so far that I enjoyed.

Iris and Nora have killed this show for me. just kill iris off or have an affair with Caitlin already. GOD do anything other than make the beloved character sacrifice themselves for the boring character with plot armor (no, I'm still not over HR)

Knowing what the CW is like they probably just wanted to promote a black woman for diversity points.

@@mattnar3865 yes. heck it would even have been better for them to reveal that she suddenly has powers or something thus explaining why she is part of team flash.. ultimately also for me personally making her a more fulfilled addition to the team instead of the 5th wheel she is now. heck she could still have a command thing maybe her power could be visions her seeing something bad happening regarding a meta every so often. or perhaps she could have some kind of farsight ability that allows her to scout out the situation and relay information to the flash. or maybe she has some other kind of water like being able to control earth but for some reason she can't control her powers well so she sits back because she has so much power it could be dangerous and she could theoretically acidentally level the city if she were to use them so they need to find some off location away from civilization spot to try and train her but as they try to do this they need to stop the training abruptly because a meta is attacking.

There was an actual chance , honestly i would liked if thawn had no masterplan, just out fathering barry for lols, that he has an evil masterplan again, kills all the intruige, or nuance. Like why not ler barry be wrong and he had no plan, just having a memory of him as mentor, no evil plan. If the irredeamable villain were just at best wanting to mess with barry, that would make him unpredictable again.

Thawne needs to phase his hand through Iris. Sure the writers would probably portray it as this horrible tragic thing like they did the possibility of her being killed by Savitar in Season 3 but it'd really be a good thing. When a show's love interest is more unlikable than any of its villains then a bad love interest's been written.

See, I got through season 5 and season 6. But I just gave up in season 7. The show isn't even about the Flash anymore; they constantly sideline him for other characters, most of whom are new and whom I have little to know interest in. That and they constantly make stupid decisions and cry about their feelings nonstop.

I'm surprised you somehow kept going after season 5. I literally couldn't withstand the shit show anymore and dropped the Flash right after the last episode.

I'll be honest, I just hated Nora. We had already gone through the mentor arc with Barry in season 1-2, and Wally and Jesse in 3-4. She acted like an absolute child and was oblivious in the dumbest ways. Not knowing that thawne was manipulated, touching crime scene stuff, using the bad speed force, literally having 'trauma' from iris's parenting. Like, grow up. And the fact she was even there at all killed me. She should have had 1 episode, and then been kicked right back to where she came from. I get the "oh no! I want to meet my dad!" But Barry should know better and should just throw her home after that bs she pulled with the negative speed stuff.

Found a gem of a channel. This guy is hilarious. I agree with season 5 being the worst one but it’s honestly sad how season 6 starting strong but finished so weak.

Honestly this entire season became an understatement when season 7 came. Season 7 is BARELY watchable. At least 5 was still somewhat watchable. Freaking pep talking villains to win 24/7...

Honestly, there are shows where the main character is not romantically involved with another character and those shows still work. Daredevil is an example of this, we all knew Daredevil and Karen Paige would end up together some day but they were still not together until the end of season 03 and people still love that show. The thing is, when I watch a Superhero show I want Superheroes beating Supervillains and the other way around, I don't want dumb romance soap opera BS

@@jaypaul15 oh that is a good point. i absolutely hate how much they push the iris and barry relationship into our face. that being said though, i feel like if barry had to have a romantic relationship with someone caitlin would’ve been a really good choice. they had a lot of chemistry and it would’ve been a nice subversion of expectations with barry ending up with the “nerdy” girl instead of his “dream girl”.

I love superhero shows too but I don’t want to see action all the time and BAM BAM BAM, POW POW POW all the time… I want to see chemistry happening and maybe relationships too. I must admit, it is very tiresome to see Barry and Iris who’ve their love on the screen so many times as it was a nice thing to see happening in previous seasons but now it’s done with let’s move on. I gotta also admit, I do feel like Barry would’ve worked wayyy better with a nerdy girl like Caitlin. I do feel like Iris is like the super hot girl in class that you think you’ll never end up with. I’m not entirely sure how she felt the same towards Barry but I didn’t really question it because the acting/delivery was quite good (Joe West telling Barry about Iris’ feelings for him).

@@emmalee8548 yeah. Plus Iris is a poorly written character. Caitlin is a good 'strong' female character but her story and her character arc is always ignored because of Iris West. What I am saying is that give the characters enough time, we want to see these characters interact with each other on screen. We want to see these characters vulnerable around their loved ones. I personally find Iris and Barry being together so forced and out of place. Also the way show sets them up, they grew up in the same place, Joe technically adopted Barry and he is literally in love with his step sister if you think logically lol.

@@AbsoluteVoltz Agreed. I don't wanna see Pow Pow Pow all the time either. But I want the main characters who 'love' each other to actually show some traits of loving each other. I want to see the growth, I want to see how they fell in love. Iris told Eddie Thawne that the future article is bullshit and it does not mean a thing. Iris literally rejected Barry, then interfered Barry and Linda's relationship. After finding out he is the Flash and that her and Barry are married in a parallel universe, she said that the future article is a sign that is indicating that Barry and Iris are meant to be together despite saying the article is bullshit to Eddie earlier. I hate her, CW ruined one of the most iconic DC couple.

13:19 They should do what the comics did and have Thawne kill Iris expect with no "She's alive in the future" retcon like in there.

Then he killed her for rejecting him but she was saved by her parents who took her to their time the 30th century which was apparently a scary place so they sent her back in time to keep her safe.

Iris has always been a dumb irritating character. There was a brink of hope in Season 3 pre-finale and Season 6 mid finale but gone after that. But honestly the current season looks a lot worse than season 5 - Wells gone, Cisco gone, the whole speed force drama, Kramer drama..... horrible

That made NO sense to me. Especially since Caitlin's powers are established to NOT be related to dark energy! It's just a thing she HAS and has had since she was a CHILD, so his DARK ENERGY based cure shouldn't do anything to her to start with. Cisco even wanting to cure himself makes no sense, but Caitlin being terrified he'll weaponize it against HER makes even less sense. Then there's this SUPER retarded bullshit about how it's the WORST THING to force ANY meta to be cured unless they wanted to. THESE FUCKERS HAVE NEARLY COMMITTED GENOCIDE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS! STICK EM FOR FUCK'S SAKE! They'd rather lock people in pretty inhumane conditions than give them a shot and take away THEIR ABILITY TO MURDER HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE IN TEN SECONDS! This cure RUINS the entire Flash show, because it solves every problem. Them being so against using it to stop super criminals ruins the characters. Lose Lose situation.

i felt like just about everything regarding the cure was bullshit. the way they were treating it felt very irrational and hysterical. haku made a few good points on that.

The only positive thing from this season was Thawne’s plan. But the acting was so stilted! It was genuinely hard to watch at times he usually cares the show!

You forgot to mention that Iris blamed Barry for going to the Speed Force and leaving her alone for 6 months, like the whole world bas literally being destroyed(or at least the city idk we only saw so much), but on the first episode when Cisco says that he can bring Barry back she just tries to stop him. Or how she said he didn't talk to her about going to save his mother but he did :x

I still found season 5 to be more enjoyable than post crisis of season 6

The writers have apparently forgotten that most people watch the show to see Barry fight crime and help people not to see him swapping spit with Iris.

When the only reason ur watching the flash past season 4 just to see godspeed in action: Ah so what ur saying is.....ignore everything else until I see two men run at "godspeed" to the almost death....pun intended

These videos are so funny and are like a mini podcast for me to learn new things about the flash and just to relax and enjoy it while playing a game or something

I really didn’t have no problem with season 5 I thought it was great in the first half then it got confusing in the back half. I think it’s the most hated season I thought it was disappointing.

Yeah, I think objectively speaking right now season 7 is the worst, but 5 is a close second, but you got it right to where the second is what hurt the season. It had a huge pacing issue especially with Cicada.

That’s what happened with arrow characters when they “broke up”. The motivations for that were horrendous and forced

The Wraiths should be swarming her just because she went back AND THEN JUST DECIDED TO CHILL! Like she's COMPLETELY fucking up the time line here, that's GOTTA get their attention. Barry saves ONE person and all reality starts to fall apart, but she apparently saves the whole city by helping punch the satellite AND THEN STICKS AROUND INTERACTING EXTENSIVELY WITH HER PAST FAMILY, but THAT'S fine. No problems there!

I'm personally also disliking strongly how everytime the CW has a dorky character in their DC/CW shows, they completely ignore it by the second season of the character. With cisco it also dissapeared, not just with barry, it's definetly there and you could say they 'grew up' but i still miss their way to properly outsmart others. Now it feels like the only reason to even have this team is for the powers, not because they're smart. I have the same issue in LOT, where nate/captain steel, his dorkyness just dissapears after his first season on the show. I'm just really frustated by it; because it can bring a lot more personality to a character. But hey, that's my piece.

While I agree with most of this video, what really pissed me off was what was mentioned with cisco breaching the dagger. When he didn’t breach it to a dead earth or somewhere it could never do harm again it was all I could to do resist turning off the show permanently.

They really had to dumb down almost every character to make Cicada a threat.

Season 4 is far worse than 5th. Nora is not that bad, and the Reverse Flash plot twist was really interesting. Too bad it was all scrapped in season 6. Also, the second half did feel slow, and it would be nice to get rid of Cicada earlier to make space for Reverse Flash to be main villain of S5. But, but, but season 4 has, like, 0 redeeming qualities .... it's way worse. I'd say that from the worst to the best it's: 4th, 6th, 5th/3rd, 2nd,1st

If if the writers had half a brain amongst each other Barry shouldn't apologize because he did responsible thing and and she shouldn't complain her mother wasn't kill by a psycho her dad wasn't blame for killing her she has no right to get angry at Barry who is having a releasing reaction to this situation

@@DeckerJimenez7014 except Barry didn't do a rational thing by taking her to the future. He acted on emotions as usual and his action lead to pushing Nora to use Thawne's help again out of despair and to travel back using Negative Speed Force.

This made me realize something. I have never watched a TV series made within the 2000's. Are all TV shows this lame? They seem to be nothing but crying and talking these days. Maybe I'm just too used to really good cartoons, and or working on my own content.

so, i didn't want to watch the flash. it was a tradeoff for my friend to watch a show i like, and i would watch a show they liked. i didn't go into it with very high expectations, but i was pleasantly surprised. it wasn't an amazing show, but it was fun and i liked the characters. even at its lowest plotwise in season 3, i still had fun watching it (mostly because HR is my favourite character in the series). season 4 was genuinely really really good, and after how much i liked it, i was cautiously optimistic heading into season 5. season 5 was a trashfire. i didn't think i could watch a season as bad as that. i HATED nora, she was meant to be a really smart woman in her 20s but she acted like a tween. when she's not being incredibly immature she's a self entitled jerk (still haven't gotten over her intentionally triggering cisco's ptsd in order for him to do what she wants) i hated how despite the entire show saying that time travel was BAD and always had BAD results, nora was given a pass to stay around because she missed her dad. which, WHAT??? isn't that exactly what barry did in flashpoint???? aside from the hell that was everything nora's character touched, the villain was bad, sherloque was boring and the rest of the cast felt incredibly ooc. just. agh.

I still would like to point out that XS didn't come back to Thawne because of Weather Witch. She did it, because when Barry told her that bad guys could change, she asked him if Eobard could, and he said yes. She came back to him because of Barry. And Iris is upset when Barry banished Nora... because he banished Nora. She doesn't care that Thawne could be manipulating her, she's uspet because Barry immediately banished their daughter, without asking her.

@@zemox2534 It's still her daughter, so Barry shouldn't have taken that decision alone especially without letting Iris talk to her before. And Barry's not banishing her to punish her, he's doing that because he's scared of what Thawne could do by manipulating Nora, so he doesn't appear that bad either. And he's wrong, because it was exactly what Thawne wanted, because then Nora needed the Negative Speed Force, and so he was able to dig in her darkest parts.

@@zebedeebalistique7791 All problem is, no matter how Iris wrong or right, that people as zemo x2 still hater her for everything really free hate, Iris was poorly written by the screenwriter also the all problem with female power leadership being she was better as journalism and the racism just see all fascination that kind people has with Daniella that feeds this kind fan with dirty

At this point, it wasn't about Nora, his daughter. No it was about, Nora, a threat to Barry's whole fucking team. Get the facts straight. It's not always about love and family and daughter, this time it's about saving his team. A hero can't be blinded by family when he has more important things to do.

@@soumyasimransahu4626 Well Arrow did the same with Emiko, he tried to help her, such as his mom, Caitlin with her father, Supergirl with her aunt... and these people wera actually evil. Nora isn't, they just think that she might be manipulated by Thawne. Nora didn't do anything herself, her connection with Thawne is completely understandable, so Barry wasn't acting at the Flash stopping a villain even if they are related, he was acting as a son, who is basically afraid of the man who killed his mother, and tries to stop this man from hurting the best he can. I mean Thawne was in a jail in the future, and banishing her was impulsive, and irresponsible, because it litteraly was part of Thawne's plan. So, he just acted bases on his emotions, just blinded by his lost of his mother, he was blinded by family. If he truly wanted to act as a super hero, he would have asked Team Flash. Because, when you're trying to defeat one of Thawne's plan, you can't just do whatever you want, like when they were about to destroy the dagger.

Nah at this point season 7 is so awful and unbearable… it’s easily the worst season of the flash ever so far.

Let's all agree that seasons 1-3 were the best of all the other seasons because of the Reverse Flash.

Season 1 was genuinely good tv. It is my favorite CW season.

16:22 THIS !!! Is what had me screaming at my tv when I saw it. The show made it seem like this time there’s no way around it .. someone had to die from team flash but NOPE .. even if it’s written in stone from the gods themselves.. the show found a way to break all that and somehow make sure everyone survives that episode .. it just makes you annoyed because it seems like death isn’t that serious in the show ..
