I wince at the phrase “criminally underrated,” but it's true. The songs pre-released for the upcoming album, “Every Five Seconds” have every bit of “Sunshine’s” energy, if not more, plus all of the insight and thoughtfulness. They were the first band I ever saw live back in 1983, and I'm eager to catch them on their upcoming tour. Rock on, boys.

Dive into the Scorpions from the 70's & all the way into their latest album in 2022. This Is My Song, Fly To The Rainbow, Speedy's Coming, Holiday, Loving You Sunday Morning, Unleash the Beast, Love Em Or Leave Em, Shoot For Your Heart, Skywriter, Remember The Good Times, Rock Believer, Shoot For Your Heart & numerous other songs are awesome. All of their albums have at least 5 awesome songs.

The Fixx is in my top five favorite bands. I’ve seen them about ten times or so live (last time was 2021, I’m getting edgy to see them again), and they are always nothing short of fantastic!!

The Best Band, Period! No matter what kind of music you were listening to when the FIXX came on EVERYBODY tuned in no matter where their head was at !

They're simply fantastic... This new wave sound... oh my god... Absolutely own style!!! I love the Fixx!

Easily and sadly, the most underrated and underappreciated rock band of the 1980s. "Sunshine In The Shade" Those apocalyptic visuals. Luv the sudden ending, like ripping a power cord right out of the wall.

This song hit me like an avalanche when I first heard it.

IMHO this is actually the only song that is from the genre "New wave" I actually like the "Adam and Eve" part of the video..the tree with the forbidden fruit. Also notice the "noose" hanging of the tree...trippy stuff mang!

Song-underdog. Wonderful and unknown to many people

This is such a well written hit. You can hear how the catchy hooks are all there. Plus, it's got grit. It makes you want more. The sound of the 80's in this song are so refreshing today in this millennium, as yesterday. ★★★★★

+T Angelone That is very true, most bands now are cookie-cutter groups where their image is more important than their music. The Fixx has never been one of the run-of-the-mill bands, and I admire that...

"Stand or Fall" and "Red Skies" were early video hits off their first album "Shuttered Room". They peaked respectively at #76 and #101. That was in 1982 just before radio playlist programmers finally got the bright idea that maybe the songs in the increasingly popular MTV videos might actually have appeal if played on radio. So these two video hits paved the way for the band's 3 top 40 singles from their sophomore album "Reach the Beach" a year later.

91X San Diego used to play this. Nothing like that anymore.

I got to hang out with The Fixx for about an hour after a concert in Wichita, Kansas in the late 90s - very nice guys, easy going and fun, actually, regular guys. I talked with Cy Curnin for quite a while and Jamie West-Oram had a great sense of humor. Actually, I was just a fan wanting an autograph or two and they welcomed me into their world for a little while.

When they toured in 1991 I met them, and in my silly fangirl mode I said to Jamie, "Hello." He said Hello back, then I said, "you look really cute in person." He deadpanned "Well you look cute in person too." LOL I'll never forget that!

New wave crashed so hard in 1984, and good songs like this weren't given a fair shot. This song might not be quite as good as "One Thing Leads to Another," but it's still really great.

This is my favorite Fixx song, unfortunately it wasn't on the play list either time I saw them on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

Coolest video in the world.

This is my all time favorite 80's pop band and that's saying a lot. I never understood why they were not wildly popular. Their music was genius. Their lyrics perfectly matched the music. I can see their songs in head.😊

Norma Di Pardo Well, I would imagine that depends on the director and art department as much as the band. I don't know who conceived, designed, or directed this video. That's more detail than I ever wanted. I just want to say, the stuff with Cy doing a devil face with finger horns, that was cheesy, and it came up 2 - 3 times. So I mean, come on, it's not the finest work of art. I just like it anyway. It's overall good.

Probably one of the few bands that escaped the 80s that are listenable today .. I say the 80s was a very eclectic era, being a producer and writer out of that era, I tell you there was a lot of junk but there's some stuff that was just unique, the cars, rush, yes, and the fixx, the police, sade, u2, Duran duran, there's just a bunch of good acts, that survived because they were just simply well put together

I never get tired of hearing this song, one of my all time favorite Fixx songs.

Love listening to The Fixx,I always go back to One Thing Leads To Another though,there music so unique in a way,with New Wave genre its little bit rock,more New Wave GTA Vice City used the song I mentioned above,their were big in the U.S. more thanks to late Rupert Hine without he's a legend....

A band with a message. You got to like this.

I love the tricks Rupert does. He is an accomplished keyboard man and has made his own inventions with the synths.

The Fixx were my first ANGST band, you see, when I was 14-15 years old. These songs were just coming out and they still remind me of that time very much.

Love The Fixx. Phantoms is so underrated. Just look at what a boss Rupert is with his super-serious expression at 4:33 . He's a keyboardist with attitude. You have to be to get a cool headset mic!

Underrated by who?? The album charted 19th on the Billboard Top 200. Are We Ourselves charted 1st in Top Rock Tracks in 1984. What are smoking, dude?

+uncbbfblives No I believe this song to be about mythology and organised religion. LOL. Watch the video a bit more closely and it becomes fairly obvious what the song is about. The undulating images are cheeky references to organised religion: Adam and Eve, satan, The Tree of Life; fables: Paul Bunyan, Alice In Wonderland; The Chimpanzee: evolution and drugs and the mythological Santa Claus.
