It's so good to see bike meets so well supported by so many mature bikers. I just wish it wasn't so difficult for the younger generations to discover the joys of motorcycling. As part of the silver top generation, I really feel so lucky to have been born in the 50's, 60's or 70's and experienced some of the most fun times.

Hi FWM We have been a very lucky generation, bikes were easy to get into when we were young. No need for crash helmets or training, just wobble off 🤣. My closest friend all had bikes when we were young and daft, most still have bikes. Unfortunately it’s so expensive and difficult for young people to get started on bikes. We’re a dying breed, which is a terrible shame as it’s a wonderful hobby.

Always go it to catch up with Wee Mark, lovely guy. I so wish it was summer up here, still cold and lots of rain, fingers crossed it’ll get better 🤞🤣

In 1974 I bought an identical Moto Morini 3.5 sport with the same drum front brake a twin twin leading shoe. The first time I adjusted the brake and applied it going down a hill the front end just came out from under neath me, super powerful and was treated with respect after that I can tell you. The bike handled so well I never did find its limit as I bottled out before the bike did, it just went around corners like it was on rails and was very light as well. Great array of bikes at that meeting 😊 Ps I have just fitted the same alloys on my Classic 350 as you have, with a set of tubeless Bridgestones tips in faster now but still holds it line perfectly. Was on TAYM’s Monday mutter yesterday. 😊

Hi Peter Great to hear that you enjoyed the video. Lucky you owning Morini 3.5, stunning bike in its day which still looks fabulous 👍 I did see you’re wheels on TAYM’s video, they look really good, then I would say that wouldn’t I 🤣

That was a cracking wee video. My favourite two bikes at the meeting were the Neracar (#1) & the "Well used" Moto Guzzi (#2) with the bit of cable tray clagged onto the rear. The old bikes are just amazing see and it's fantastic to watch them being ridden there and away again. Let's face it, that's what they were built for... riding! They weren't built to be kept as museum pieces in somebody's garage. That was my Anniversary Harley the pair of you squeezed past. I think wee mark had to suck in a wee bit more than you to get past. 😆😆 I'm away to have a look at the rest of your videos and Wee Mark's too. Maybe see you at the next meeting. 👍👍

Hi Ricki Great to hear that you enjoyed my video 😁 The wee Guzzi Falcone with the cable tray on the back is my friends bike, he’s been riding it for over 20 years. A well used bike definitely not a garage queen. The Wee Smokey’s are excellent and very well attended with loads of interesting bikes. We only squeezed past your bike to stop my flying camera from flying into the trees 🤣 Hope you enjoy my other videos on the channel 👍

I wanted to come up, but I was away Friday morning for quick tour down to Scarborough over the a68 / moors and back via the dales, lake district and A7 maybe catch you there next month

Hi Layton Sounds like you’ve had an enjoyable trip on your bike 👍 The Classic club only holds two or three Wee Smokey’s during the summer months. I’ve know idea when the next one will be, the dates are normally announced a few weeks before.

Another excellent video TN, I must try and get down and see the bikes for myself, do they organise more than one meeting a year if so where would I find the dates please...

Hi Old Fella Good to hear that you enjoyed the video of The Wee Smokey. The club normally holds two or three Wee Smokey’s in the summer months. They’re held at the Meadowbank Inn, Arbroath normally at fairly short notice. The best way is to keep checking the stop press section on the website front page. scmc.uk Hopefully see you there sometime 👍

The orange Yamaha at 2:52 takes me back. It was the style when I first got interested in bikes. Spent hours ogling them in catalogues.

I agree, those Yamahas from the early 70’s were beautiful bikes. Friends of mine had yellow and black YDS-7 250’s, still think they’re a thing of beauty 😁

@@tigerness5555 Yes, I remember the orange and black version. Yamaha never bettered that styling, and I thought the Kenny Roberts trim (I had the RD 200) was a bit naff.

As a fan of enduros from the early 1970s, I was particularly taken with the golden yellow Yamaha DT. Overall, it was a great event with lots of beautiful old motorcycles. I would have loved to have watched for much longer. Thank you very much for uploading, sir! Please answer me a question: what is the name of the beautiful song at the beginning of the video and who is the artist? Best wishes from Germany!

Great to hear that you enjoyed the video. So many beautiful bikes to admire. The song is “Waterslide (Tribute Version) by Loving Caliber” this is music I get from Epidemic Sound which allows me to use it on KZread without incurring Copyright issues.

Great to hear that you enjoyed the video Paul. I try to strike a balance on these videos, unfortunately you can’t please all of the people all of the time. I did have some sound problems on some of the footage, and rather than cut out those sections, more music was added than was intended.
