Greetings from southern California. Bought the 650 Enfield in 2019 and it's been marvelous all 33,000+ miles. I will say the classic 350 looks even better

A beautifully personalised bike. I totally agree with all your reversed modification. In the long run, you have probably saved a lot of people a lot of money not changing items for little gain. Especially the silencer. All 3 J platform 350s sound just great. I am not a great fun of the single RE pannier but it is definitely useful. I have removed the back seat from my Meteor and fitted a 35L top box. Am also dabbling with fitting a set of 80s Krauser panniers or GIVI E22s but the GIVIs seem a bit small. Love the outdoor style of this video, it worked really well. Besides, your beautiful garage makes me hang my head in shame. Thanks for posting.

Hi Tim, thanks for your encouraging comments. You’re correct I could have saved myself lots of money knowing what I know now. Hopefully others will pause before rushing down the modification route. Now if Givi would make Monokey side frames then I could put my Alaska pannier cases on. That would get the purists going 🤣 Great to hear that you enjoyed the video 😁👍

Hi, I am on second Classic 350 reborn and fitted FuelX pro, DNA filter with the intake plate, de-cat pipe, bottle silencer, and the 16t sprocket. I can safely say that it was all waste of money.. I can confirm that the only improvement you need to do is fit the de-cat pipe (£25 off Ebay) and leave the original air filter but either fit the DNA inlet or cut the snorkel off the original air filter cover doing this makes the bike the best it's going to be believe me. I have done speed timing runs, top speed runs (Gps), and spending all the cash did NOTHING.. The decat and the air filter cover gave the bike a better torque overall. They are governed to 73 mph (GPS), which shows on the speedo as 75/76 mph. I even removed the ABS fuses as this does away with the speed restrictor (not the rev limiter), and the bike only gained 4-5 mph, but you had no speedo and ABS.. Cheers Stevie

Hi Stevie, thanks for your excellent comments. Yes it’s so easy to throw lots of performance parts at the bike only to be disappointed by the end result. I agree that the de-cat pipe and air filter cover is the pest option. I’m considering doing the same to mine, although I do like it the way it is now. Thanks for watching the video, hope you enjoyed it 🏍️👍

I did the same modifications minus the 16t sprocket. Then I replaced the camshaft with the Hitchcocks high performance one. The camshaft makes a real difference in engine character and power. There is nothing wrong with the stock 350, but for the price of the camshaft and the ease of installation (did it myself in 1,5hrs) I think it is well worth the money. Improved midrange and 5bhp extra power at higher revs.

You need to just remove just one of the ABS fuses, not both. Whichever one does not give you no speedo. I presume you still want ABS though. I prefer my bikes without ABS. Thanks for the useful info about adding tuning stuff, much appreciated. My local RE dealer tried the 865 (I think it is) mod kit on the Interceptor thinking it would improve the bike. He wasn't impressed and doesn't recommend it. 🧐

Enjoying your videos! Looks a lovely secret Road. I fitted a few extras to my Meteor. Touring mirrors, as original ones, just a blur. Crash bars, deluxe pegs, fly screen, heated grips, and sump plate, which takes the splatters from the road. The wheels do look very nice.

Enjoyed the video. My parents wouldn’t let me near a motorcycle growing up. The first motorcycle I ever rode was my uncle’s Honda CB 900. I got my first motorcycle 1986 Yamaha. Swapped it for an 86 FXWG Harley in 1988. Still have it. I’ve been really wanting a new Royal Enfield 350 classic for a few months now. Found a 2003 500 Bullet with under 3000 miles. Bought it last week and haven’t failed to ride it everyday so far. It’s just flat out fun to ride. I usually go to a popular bike night in Nashville Tn that draws around 60 bikes. I took the R.E. and I noticed people taking pictures of it. I’ve never seen one there before.

Great story you have there. It’s not all about power and street credibility. These Enfields are something special, you have to own one to understand that. I never thought I would buy one, always considered them slow, unreliable with terrible vibration. I now love my wee 350, it puts a smile on my face every time I look at and ride it. Hope you have many more Royal Enfield adventures. Great to hear that you enjoyed the video 🏍️👍

Interesting about the exhaust, I fitted the Hitchcock de cat pipe but after 100 miles removed the pipe back to standard. My reason was the note just lowered to a pitch that resonated in my helmet so back to standard and once again a happy bunny with my Classic 350. Only mods I have done is Daytona heated grips and a top of the range DID chain fitted on the first 300 mile service. The chain has only been adjusted after it’s initial stretch and is now perfect after a further 1100 miles. Quite simply after 53 years of riding this is my perfect bike, just enjoy every ride with a grin on my face. 😊 Just remembered I fitted the 2 touring seats in black in place of the brown seats that came on the Halcyon Green Classic, the firmer touring seat for me is far more comfortable than the standard soft seat and better finished. 😊

Great video and I like the little mods you've done. I've had my Hntr 350 since the beginning of March and I've done nearly 3000 miles. I wasn't impressed with the list of things I had to correct, within the first week, so couldn't see the point in returning the bike to be serviced by people who don't appear to know what they're doing and to pay them as well. Fortunately, like you, I'm more than capable of servicing the bike myself so not too worried about warranties etc. Brilliant little bikes though! Now I've got into the rythm of that long stroke motor, I'm really enjoying it and can't believe the fuel returns ....... between 104 and 121mpg ....... truly amazing! Spoked wheels look good but those alloys, you've fitted, look just great 👍 All the best, Phil

@@tigerness5555 I agree with you about the 'old school' simplicity, having said that ......... yesterday, the engine management light came on 😮 Took it straight back to the dealer and their machine said it was a fault triggered by the oil temperature sensor. They cleared the fault code and re flashed (whatever that is) the bike's ECU and said that should solve the problem. I've done over a hundred miles today and no further issues 🤞Still a great bike though 😊

Cheers for this vid mate on the bits and bobs. Having test ridden I may try putting the gear change up a tooth or 2 when I pick up mine this week as i found it a bit ballet dancer to up shift. However I wont be adverse to putting on the heel toe unit if that dont work as Ive had plenty of bikes with rocker changers. Intend to remove the pillion and rear pegs as I only ever ride solo. Seen a chrome rack made for it in solo trim so may get that. Thanks again. Lee

Thanks for the round up 👍. I've got a Gunmetal Grey one and in two weeks I've already covered 300 miles. I do like the alloy wheels and I've been thinking of getting some myself. I contacted motoGB but received no reply to my enquiry. Hitchcocks have them for £400 plus vat so I might wait until my standard tyres need replacing then swap to tubeless at the same time.

Do MotoGB have any stock left, now that they are not the RE importers? I bought my alloys from them shortly after they started their "clearance" sale at £275 for the pair, but I noted a couple of weeks later that they were asking something over £300. I'm guessing Hitchcocks will be your only option.

But its interesting that you've basically got the same set up as me other than the box, I have a saddle bag instead and I've considered putting all the performance mods on you have, though I've yet to bother. The only thing I really do want to put on it is the filter, can't go wrong with more air and just better quality. I've done about the same miles as well over slightly less months and firm agreement really the bike doesnt need anything. It runs as its supposed to. Must admit yours looks a tiny bit cleaner than mine! My engine casings have gone very dull despite being cleaned. Keep it up.

K & N filter upgrade only is a benefit it is a better filter overall. No need for the open cover. I use them on all my vehicles and clean them periodically with soap and water then some oil guard rust spray is what I use for the element after it dries... no need for a specific kit. Yes the limited power makes the stock exhaust probably more than enough although the clean look of the free flow is a nice thing.

Hi, the one thing I didn’t particularly like about the full exhaust, was that the rear silencer was too small. So preferring the look of the original, but just wanting a little bit louder burble, I fitted the Hitchcock’s de-cat pipe. Still looks factory standard, but sounds a bit sweeter. I have put the open air filter cover on, but might just remove that, as the induction noise can get on one’s nerves after a while, and kind of overwhelms the exhaust note, especially on my video’s. I do like bar end mirrors, but I rely on the originals to look to see if my camera is still recording 😂. Currently, I have a tail bag attached to the original passenger seat subframe, but I might look into fitting just one pannier/bag to the near side of the bike……maybe, the trouble is it might not do much for my ocd 🙄 with it not being equal. Thanks for putting this video together.

I left my exhaust stock except for removing the catalytic converter. I feel like it really enhanced the stock sound without making it too loud. I would be interested in your experience with the FuelX and why you don’t still use it. I personally feel it’s the single best thing I’ve done to mine. It didn’t really add power but wow, it sure smoothed out the engine performance. It runs absolutely flawless with the FuelX installed. No more backfire on deceleration. Perfectly smooth acceleration. It seems to have given it a little more top end speed now. Previously, 55MPH to 60MPH was strained. It seems to prefer running at that speed now.

Greetings from India! I clicked on your video because I noticed alloy wheels on a red and chrome Classic 350. Can't say I've seen alloys on a chrome RE until now. You seem to have the ones you can get through the official MIY app. Anyway, the reason I took interest in your video is that I have an Interceptor 650 in the Mark 2 colourway, red and chrome like yours. I am in a dilemma. On the one hand, the stock wire wheels look perfect on my bike and far better than any alloy wheels could. On the other, cast alloy wheels are far more practical with their ability to mount tubeless tyres AND require no periodic wire spoke adjustment. I was thinking of getting my hands on the alloy wheels from the new black edition of the Interceptor. They won't look as good as the stock wire wheels but your bike looks pretty good. Maybe if I can get chrome mudguards for my bike. Perhaps, chrome vinyl wrap? Or just the silver ones from the older models.

I've sold mine just last week. Nothing wrong with it as a whole, just did not fit my stile and places of riding. I would kept it but unfortunately don't have place for many bikes like you.. I also had done few modifications similar to yours.. Low seat, heel-toe lever but also changed the handlebar with taller one. I see that you have the engine guard.. I guess that you removed the 16t sprocket because you don't do a lot of constant high speed riding. My absolute favorite modification it would be to fit tubeless rims with new spokes and relace the wheels with the original hubs. Or the cheap option would be to seal the spoke holes.. Budget adv riders do it and it keeps the original look of the wheels.

Once again a great video and i love your perspective on the bike. It can get a bit tiresome when you hear younger bikers progressing in their biker life as if cc and HP had to increase as experience was gained. The actual joy of biking seems to take second place to this demographic mindset of youth. I think a ride down to the Scottish borders from Fife and back on that bike would be a pleasure. Of all the upgrades you have done in my opinion were the power socket and the alloy wheels. Actually it pains me to say that removing the spoke wheels bordered on blasphemy :) but i have suffered punctures on bikes and i would prefer an alloy wheel any day so absolutely understand why you changed them. When the Classic came out I traded in my Interceptor and haven't regretted it for an instant. I think you'd agree these little bikes have bags of character, and hand on heart it's the nicest bike I've ever owned (and that's quite a lot!) It's remarkable how such a modestly powered engine can keep up with the A and B road traffic, indeed I had one bloke pull over to let me pass yesterday. I've done about 1,800 miles so far, and every mile has been a joy. R E got it right didn't they?

@@JTST1234RE have that rare gift of listening to what the customer really wants, and in this day and age what is the point of a machine that will break the national speed limit in first gear? Not only that but the price point is unbelievable. I paid the same for a new Interceptor in 2019 as I did for a Kawasaki W650 in 2002!

I stepped down from a over powered Hayabusa second generation after some years to a Street Triple first generation and some day i must test out how it feels with only 20 hp those times when i need to go fast. Does it work to overtake another vehicle in 130 km/h without downshifting from 6 gear if it have 6 gears or do i have to stay behind. Take care.

For once on KZread you have an honest appraisal on modifications. Most videos are generally sponsored and its really so hard to tell whether there is a need to spend that kind of money. Almost about to press the 'Buy' button at Hitchcocks when i came across this fantastic channel. Is it just me or did any of you find the commentary and content on the FuelX video quite satisfying, like a Thai foot massage where they click your toes at the end?
